Best Microphone/Mixer Setup for A Killer Pro-Level Podcast:
    Rodecaster Pro Mixer: amzn.to/3HfABhB
Shure SM7B: amzn.to/36iLs6w (The Joe Rogan Mic)
    Microphone Cables: amzn.to/3GUqZYe
Slightly Cheaper but all fantastic Mics:
    Heil PR-40: amzn.to/2LDN413
    Heil PR-35: amzn.to/3e2m3jR
    Shure SM58: amzn.to/36bS6v6
Or, buy a kit with the Rodecaster, Rode Mics, and Microphone Cables:
    amzn.to/3iRujeU
If you’re on a serious budget and just want a USB Mic that sounds a million times better than a Blue Yeti, try this one:
    Audio Technica ATR-2100 amzn.to/3WlurAX
    Or this one:
    Samson Q2U: amzn.to/3ZFoiT7
With the above mics, they can plug directly into your computer. However, you’ll need some software like GarageBand or Logic to record the podcast.

This is a realworld example of the Zoom h6 Recorder and how I use it for The Solopreneur Hour Podcast. This is a practical guide to your podcast setup and to me answers the question: "Is the Zoom h6 the ultimate recorder for your podcast??"
In the video, I also explain the difference between how a Dynamic Mic and a Condenser mic work. The difference between dynamic and condenser is CONSIDERABLE, so it's worth a listen!
This isn't an official Zoom h6 review or Zoom h6 unboxing...more like an overview of how to podcast with a Zoom h6, or how to set up a podcast

I’m using the zoom h5, and your video is very helpful...
In terms of mix minus, I found a workaround, I’m using a Samson q2u that has XLR and USB, so I plug the XLR to the zoom, and the USB to the computer, so I send at the same time the mic signal to both devices, then from the audio outlet of the computer, I send the Skype audio signal to the other channel of the zoom h5, so I can record both signals in different channels.
I had the problem that you addressed (horrible noise) but I fixed it with a couple of filters (ground noise isolator), and done!
And as I post my interviews to CZcams and podcast, I throw the sound from the line out of the recorder to the mic in of the camera, and as I can configure the zoom recorder to make a marker sound at the beginning, so is easy to sync in post, and also it doubles as a backup audio recording.

The XY mic can be useful to get crowd noise/ambiance. You can fade in as you go to commercial break, run the credits, or transition from awkward silences. Also it can come in clutch if for some reason a mic is broken or a corrupted file or some other act of god that can only be found in Post. I just turn off the L-R in the monitors and check the levels from time to time. Gets recorded just fine and you don't have to use it, but it's saved my butt in the past so I thought I'd add my two cents. Thanks for the great vid!

I've been using the H2n for about 15 years with an audio technica shotgun mic and it's been my workhorse for my radio show field interviews and podcast....thought I hate having to put an xlr --> 1/8 adapter. I just ordered the H6 Black and I cannot wait to dip into that. I'm also going to grab a couple of sm58s for the high stress field interviews, but, I still like the shotgun for the odd baton vibe, though it's too damn large for a field gear.
Thanks for this video, I'm now going through your other ones....great job.

I Prefer the RodeCaster Pro. But i make a, lets call it, Single Person Podcast, and i like the Pads of the Rodecaster. A mixer, a player and a Recorder anything in one piece of Hardware. The only Thing which could be better is that it has a Slot for MicroSD. Normal SD would be better, but i dont have a Real technical reason why i would prefer the bigger SD-Cards. Its simply that i like them More.
But you‘re right, there is no better way than Hardware-Recording.

I have been doing a lot of research about podcast setups and I pretty much agree with you about the mics. I have one doubt, before spending 350+ on the H6, what are your thoughts about getting something like the Zoom livetrak 8 or the Rode Rodecaster pro first to set up my home podcast studio? And later on, when I have the money, getting the H6 for occasional on the road interviews - the Livetrak can work with batteries so perhaps it could serve as portable recorder if I needed to interview someone away from base.

The problem you're experiencing with the H6 XY mic is because 1) The unit is on the table while you're tapping shit on the table, 2) The mic is aiming the other way, and 3) You're holding the 58 right up to your mouth, not resting it on a table you're tapping. I've been using 58s for live performances for 20 years, but those are nowhere near being better than the Zoom's XY mic for interviews. Sorry.
