Best Microphone/Mixer Setup for A Killer Pro-Level Podcast:
    Rodecaster Pro Mixer: amzn.to/3HfABhB
Shure SM7B: amzn.to/36iLs6w (The Joe Rogan Mic)
    Microphone Cables: amzn.to/3GUqZYe
Slightly Cheaper but all fantastic Mics:
    Heil PR-40: amzn.to/2LDN413
    Heil PR-35: amzn.to/3e2m3jR
    Shure SM58: amzn.to/36bS6v6
Or, buy a kit with the Rodecaster, Rode Mics, and Microphone Cables:
    amzn.to/3iRujeU
If you’re on a serious budget and just want a USB Mic that sounds a million times better than a Blue Yeti, try this one:
    Audio Technica ATR-2100 amzn.to/3WlurAX
    Or this one:
    Samson Q2U: amzn.to/3ZFoiT7
With the above mics, they can plug directly into your computer. However, you’ll need some software like GarageBand or Logic to record the podcast.

Blue Yeti microphones are just fine and can and will get the job done with good audio quality. You can always edit out that mouse fart in post production. lol
Also when you hit record allow the mic to pick up at least 15-20sec of ambient sound before you start talking. This way you can get a ambient sound sample for a noise profile when it comes to noise reduction. Also a program called voicemeter can also help with audio quality and serves as a audio mixer.

    • @solohour
      @solohour  Před 5 lety +10

Agreed...but that's more work for a casual podcaster. No need to go through the effort if you have a dynamic mic. Good tips though!

Hahaha. You aren't kidding about condenser sensitivity. When I first started recording in digital, I went from a Fostex open reel 8-track to a pair of Tascam DA-38's, for a 16-track set up. We were recording and used a pair of Earthworks condenser mics to record some saxophones and it picked up a Garbage truck two streets away through a 12" thick, 3-leaf(layers) wall. We never heard a thing until we were mixing it. Thankfully, the saxophonist had not flown back to California yet.

Loved it! You know your material and medium, it was a nice break from people with oodles of enthusiasm but not much to impart. I also appreciated the lack of background music.

The amount of people that’ve commented about the audio quality🤦🏽‍♀️ open your fkn eyes and read the 539473929 other comments that’ve said the same thing🤦🏽‍♀️the description box isn’t there for decoration also! Acting like they’re perfect and no one makes a lil mistake. At least you can still hear what he’s saying. Love this! Awesome advice/ tips
