I used to play Mk 9 cyrax was a 1 hit killer combo machine . Yet , i could still break 2 times during a set , and win the game .
Something you cant barely do in rhis one .

I would say that release check probably fucks the controls up for the average casual player and it’s exactly because they don’t know what it is and they don’t know to look for it. They just think the controls are muddy and shitty, like this guy did. I played injustice 2 for like 3 months before I figured out what was going on.
Release check should be off by default and that would fix the problem though. I’ve never understood why NRS makes it on by default
@Scoobings720 but it's very easy to look for it if you play the tutorial which every casual or beginner player should reasonably do so it's not a bad thing. And apart from the rotating store, FATE has no points he just whines about shit he doesn't know about and regurgitates stuff that other knowledgeable players say.
Foxy I dont even play this game but I love your content, the way you casually troll people while also having the skill of a god is so entertaining but also enlightening, you have a talent for breaking down things and making them seem so simple and obvious, this debate style format is very entertaining and I hope to see more of it, Im also excited for the new beef set! My god the I lost braincells during the Ketchup and Mustard part. He didn’t even know what was the point he was trying to make. I did love the part where he’s whining about game mechanics but also didn’t know about release check. Like they made a tutorial for it. This is one of the most comprehensive tutorials in any fighting game ever made and the dude couldn’t be bothered to go through it.

Honestly I was astonished how many points went right over his head and how many times he lost himself in his own "points".
He literally attempted to explain that he's not a casual because he doesn't just play the game then move on to the next hot game, he's actually passionate and plays them regularly, good or not....

The real issue is that people usually play team games where they can hide behind their excuses like my team was crap. In a one on one game there is no one else to blame, so instead of looking in the mirror they blame developers. They made it too cheap, or the combos do too much damage, or the other character is overpowered. It could never be your fault because you are the amazing protaganist of your story.
Wow I've been saying his for years this is actually why I quit shooters because at least with fighting games there's no one to blame but me a lot of people who play shooters are trash but they have teammates so they don't look terrible by comparison and like to blame their teammates when they die all the time
This is part of the reason I play fighting games, I only rely on me not a team, if I lose its my fault and I need to improve, and if I get better its because of my hard work paying off
That’s true I agree with you brother but when you can be safe by calling in Stryker kameo when you do something unsafe, then it really is cheap, its hard to punish unsafe things in this game when you use certain cameos, idk the kameos were an experiment it’s hit or miss, sometimes you cook sometimes you get cooked. I will say they tried to innovate but why fix something that’s not broken 😉
@@tylerlopez1443if I could heart yalls comment I would. Same thing here, for years I've been telling my fellow gamers that I love fighting games because I rely on me only. Every mistake it's me. Every hard lesson I g through it and I have to get better. Been playing fighting games online since street fighter 4 days and when you apply yourself like that, understand the game flaws and all, reading frame data like a book to tell the story of the match, it really makes you grow and help better your skills.
I do agree that some characters do way too much damage, Kameo or not.
Still watching it, but wanted to say that i like this format. Gameplay and trolling is always fun, but sometimes discussions or debates are a nice change.

I’ve never had this much brain damage in my life. Holy crap Fate not only suffers from skill issues but he doesn’t know how to articulate and defend an argument.
The reason why ppl hit 40 to 50 % combos on him is that they see an opening and punish him, whereas with pro players they don't have any openings. 😅
Pro players do have opening but not the same as your normal casual scrub player. With pro players, they get opened up by either dropping combos that leave them in a negative state where they can be punished badly for it or they go for a very risk move or setup and it doesn't pay off at all. It's kind of like and all or nothing situation. It's either play strategic and make a calculated risk or hope your opponent makes a mistake or drops their combos.

There’s people I’ve played with in a discord that have done fuck all for 4 years straight. Their content is still shit and so is their gameplay. Me and my pc homies have traveled and competed and done fairly well to be put on the map. Meanwhile in four years they spent so much time pretty much doing nothing. It is what it is. Some people can’t be helped.
There is a worldwide epidemic of “I need to put everything into a box so I can understand it the way I want to understand it.” The majority of people are so uncomfortable with the concept they DON’T know something important that they have to manifest what they DO know is actually what’s important. The biggest issue I find with FATE's arguments its always "I hear people say / I read what people say", its a massive strawman and blowing up other people's arguments to support his own views. Who are these other people he constantly talks about? Sure there's a group that agrees with him, but also a giant group of people that don't. He's pretending the majority is behind his viewpoints by default.

I’m a 36 years old father with a full time job and I still managed to beat the majority of people with the worst character in the game.
Figuring out neutral, be smart and have good reads is indeed way more important than the combos itself.
The point is, you need to put some time in one way or another to be good at something plain and simple.

I like how y’all address the pro vs casual player. Casual players get the game watered down and pros get the leftovers . Pros adapt to the patch and still dominate so my question would be “ why not just let the game be and make the casual players learn how to play?” I’m an above average 💩 casual that gets wrecked in KL but will take my lessons along with the wins.
Look at this that way, from wb/nrs perspective, they know that high level/pro players gonna buy, play and support the game no matter what coz they love the franchise and are making content or competing or whatever other reason. Casuals on other hand, if they are not happy - they easily gonna move on to some other game. So usually this happens: game is nerfed so casuals can enjoy and keep coming back then another dlc is out and buy those skins. Hardcore player ain't going anywhere.
I mean idk if I agree with all that. Foxy said in his early discussion that the pros would exploit an attribute of a character which would then be nerfed so it's actually the pros that water the game down in order for the developers to accommodate the casual players.

To say we a perfect game would be insane I’m a casual player at best. I struggle at times and I shine sometimes. I 100% believe this game has a lot to do with the environment we play in and if you’re online you really don’t know what you’re going up against

What I'd like is apprentice up till master it's FT2 then make it FT3 at Master to Elder God.
This way the majority Casuals get easier level to the decent skins and competitive players like us get good games and adaptability at the highest ranked which casual players will dip out of as soon as they get their skin.
And we stay playing in Demi/Elder having good games that we can adapt and outplay

I dont understand this argument. Everybody who "plays" the game has the right to have an opinion, whether purchased or not. However professional players opinions will always hold more weight because of the knowledge and experience with the game. The perfect analogy is you can give medical advice and have an opinion on it but a doctors opinion will always be more trustworthy within the medical field
Aye I'm 37 yrs old, started with mk11, I saw all the mkx yt vids and got hooked watching them. Then mk11 came out and I said hey I'm gonna get into this. Then I kept watching vids and trying to improve my knowledge of the basics and over time I learned more about frame data, being plus and minus etc, I'm older and if I had not done the research and put effort into learning the game and all the intricacies that go with it. If I didn't try then I'd be on the same level as FATE, but I learned. Gotta do that first. Then opinions can be shared and discussed with knowledge on what your saying.

I have been playing MK and a fan since sega MK(OG) and, as much as I love those games (MK1-3), MK has developed and gotten a bit more intricate and that's a good thing!
It needed to grow.
He's still stuck in those days where there wasn't much to it and you mainly got your hit or two in, then got out, repeat, and so on .... absolutely refuses to grow, adapt, and learn the mechanics. I'm not a fan of this MK1, but I at least understand basic concepts of fighting games, as well as, MK's basic fundamentals. He literally wants to just go in with no idea or plan and then press whatever gets him by.

Bringing awareness to the issue of Mortal Kombat 9 getting banned in Australia. Without criticism or complaining, as Foxy called it. Australians Wouldn't of even got to play & enjoy MK9.

My takeaway from this debate (if you can call it that) is that Fate is completely devoid of any cerebral activity.
As someone that is garbage at MK I don’t want a game holding my hand. I want to learn the game and get as good as I can with the most enjoyment in the time that I have. A pro players perspective is always what I look for because more often than not their opinions will give the game the highest skill ceiling so I know that if I get beat that I most likely have something else to learn or consider to beat it.
I learned about Negative Edge or Release Check from a Tip in a Loading Screen.
It even suggests if you're having some troubles you can try turning it off or on to see if it makes a difference.

The only thing FATE said that i agree with is the rewards in KL. It should about skill testing, not FOMO rewards that basically encourages players to play the lamest cheapest method to win, instead of just picking who they want. And the people complaining about this skill issue stuff are probably the casuals hopping into KL for rewards. Everything else he said was ignorance

it's so easy to say in hindsight that testers should have talked to NRS about online when NRS already did most of those features in the past, so the reality is that at the time, it was not a concern. for all we know, those testers were possibly talking to people within NRS that had no say over the online at all, not that they were hired to discuss online to begin with!
of course yeah crossplay being removed sucks, but if they removed it well in advance, it must have needed more time than FIVE days to finish minimum, so even if it was relevant to them, asking about it wouldnt be very useful

MK1 feels like it was rushed out the door so WB can cash out on the MK brand. It doesn't help that the community was also banging on WB's doorstep begging to get this game out already. Great game, but disappointing content.
We begged for a game that wasn't ready yet.. and they told nrs to give it as is.. you'd think wb would look back at cyberpunk2077and not go that route..but money hungry company wb is and now we know.

Thank you for this good Sir. There is a vast and pervasive level of idicoy and entitlement where people seek comfort in complaining about everything, while not knowing the basics of a game, not understanding the strain that companies are under and level of work that goes into these projects. Even if the game has flaws, it is a brain dead exercise to whine, moan and bitch moan when basic knowledge is lacking. I have stopped paying attention to notable channels for this issue. Take a deep dive into the game, learn it through and through as best you can, then your opinion becomes valid.
People up block all the time in demi-god to god rank on pc lmao? even the lower ranks catch my jump ins and punish me for it.

i disagree deadshot was nerfed just for the casuals. I'm a competitive player (not a pro obviously, but competitive). I put a lot of time and effort into every NRS game and I hated seeing that character constantly in every top 8. Many times I recall Deadshot mirrors where both would sit at full screen endlessly shooting. I don't think this is good for anyone, whether it's casual, competitive or pro. I was definitely in favor of the nerf.
I was the only Deadshot in the top 8s though, with the exclusion of that one ECT where everybody was deadshot, that one was cursed.

As fun as it would be to clown on fate, I have to say he does make at least a little bit of a point. For example, I disagree with Sonic that Sindel is top 3, because what makes her that is low hat, which is arguably the best move in the game and it's not even her move. My point of disagreement comes down to the fact that I find Lao cameo boring. The difference between me and fate is that I fully recognise that fact and don't make arguments based off the fact that I find the "best" way to play my character boring. And I also consider myself a casual player, even though it seems Foxy would disagree, but even I was thinking that fates takes were rubbish. Like, nobody uses up block or amps moves, what? By his logic I must be a sweaty tryhard, even though I think of myself as a filthy casual. I do agree though, that all this doesn't make my opinions irrelevant. The problem is finding balance between making someone like me, I guess we can call it semi-competitive, someone like you, Sonic, and all them, and, yes, really casual people who just play story mode and mash buttons every now and then with a couple friends on a weekend, happy with the game.
I would consider myself a casual now, even though i was trying to get serious in the first 2 months of the game’s release. It depends whether or not if you're Training WTF - world Taekwondo Federation and ITF - International Taekwondo Federation. Both follow different forms and both have different competition formats with the former being "Olympic style" ITF has has more success in full contact like in various Kickboxing organizations.

As someone with QA experience, no FATE you don't hang out and talk and have lunch with the devs. You go in, they have a couple liasons who sit you down, check off all the boxes, and tell you what you're looking for. Then you fill out their forms and they walk you back out. Boom boom, one and done. It's super clinical and impersonal. You're not "part of the team" you're a contractor.

With the whole K&M portion of the discussion even if they were there to assist with online (which they were not) they’re under NDA. I imagine everyone you see in the credits, programmers, engineers, artists, writers, voice actors, mocap performers, Ed Boon. Everyone signed an NDA of some sort. So yeah…they have no way of telling you anything about their respective involvement in the project. And if someone thinks they are entitled to them incurring legal repercussions of violating the agreement so they can tell you if there’s online lobbies, then you’re kind of unreasonable. That up block argument is so dumb man, it's quite possibly the best thing they introduced for countering jumping maniacs on a mk game and it's so easy to do, why should they cater anymore for someone who's not using it, I haven't done the tutorial for this game but I'd willing to put everything I have on it being implemented in there on the basic defense part 😂

By Foxy's standard I am not a casual player because I have been playing Mortal Kombat since 1991. 90 percent of my time spent with Mortal Kombat over the years has been spent playing arcade towers. My biggest problem with Mortal Kombat 1 is the complete lack of features that have been in the last two versions of the game. Mortal Kombat 11 gave me so many reasons to play. Collecting gear pieces, character intros, character outros, five or six skins to unlock per character and 10 pallet swaps a piece to start. The customization in this game feels like it was unfinished. Kombat League challenges that had me logging in every day for gear, skins and brutalities. The Towers of Time were a great way to unlock things. They are not in the game. The Krypt was something that was in the game since Deadly Alliance and it's not in the game. Where is The Pit? No stage fatalities at launch? This is the third game in a row that has happened. NRS needs to fix the online experience. Because if the single player experience needs to be fixed because it is lacking features, the online players need more online features as well.
