I used to do a inside double axle, but my coach said forget it, because I would only get credit for a double loop most of the time. I don't think the judges know a days can even identify a inside double axle. But, the two that Julie Lynn did were right on.
hey you know alot about this skater???do ya??? well she is my step sister!!!! yes its true!!!! while the 2008 Olympics were on it just reminded me of her..so i looked her up on here!!! what a honor it is to find this!!! I'm so proud of her!!!! and what a trip to actually see her skate go Sis!!!!!!!!-respectfully Joshua Holmes
Given her medals at World Championships, Julie Lynn Holmes deserves a much higher profile in the pantheon of American figure skaters. If only at the 1972 Olympics her LP had not been uncharacteristically disastrous, she would have won a medal. Too bad many commentators talk as if the great Janet Lynn was the ONLY noteworthy US skater of that time
mmmmmm....that was mean!! She would also have WON the 1960 World Senior title with that! We have learned a lot about jumping technique since 1969. I hope you noticed the girl is enjoying skating to beautiful music. We don't often see that these days! and i haven't seen an inside double axel in 30 years or more. Skating today is just a freak show that only 12 year olds can do....what's so great about three revolutions in a jump, rather than two!
That was a wonderful skate! Julie had a lightness to her skating that was a joy to see!
The inside axel was worth the price of admission! I loved this video. She skated beautifully.

I miss this kind of skating...
The inside Axel will count as an Axel-type jump. So if you're limited as to how many Axels you can do, this counts towards it.

It would have been hard to give her a medal because they HAD to give Janet one!
