Nintendo Directs are not something I commonly have on my radar, but being a longtime metroid fan that has spent the last several years waiting for a new prime title, today is a very momentous occasion. Metroid Prime 4 is slated for 2025 and the gameplay looks absolutely amazing. Thanks for watching!

I didnt even know there was a direct today lol. I just saw that there was going to be one like an hour before it aired because I stumbled upon a video that was posted yesterday talking about it. Ended up deciding to watch it thinking there wouldnt be much shown because this is the last year for the Switch.

I was 16 years old when 4 was announced, and that same year I worked and put back money for a Switch so that I could play it. Now I'm 24, I'm an ASE certified automotive technician that works a full time job, owns two cars... and next year I will finally have a reason to turn my old switch back on

I've kept up with development of that game for like 2 year's now the demo and what he's working on now are completely different literally day and night difference with all the work he's put in, at this point just wait to play the full game.

I can think of one influencer who popped off at the release of this MvC collection. Those games were stuck in emulation and dying consoles for so long that the community had to raise some awareness.

7 years after Metroid Prime 4 was announced, I'm glad it's finally revealed, alongside a new Mario & Luigi game.
What I love about Metroid Prime 4 is the lighting. It’s incredible and was incredible for the Metroid Prime 1 remaster too. They know what they are doing to make a game look good regardless of hardware

Waiting for this game has been like waiting in line for infinity. The world-building looks amazing. Though we've still no re-release for the Metroid Prime Trilogy, at least we're getting something.
The thing that got me hyped was Miles Edgeworth Games. We now have every game in the west. So hyped. Other then that mario and Luigi and mario party are gonna be cool

@@SymbioteMullet Don't quote me on this. I seem to recall Capcom representatives implying that working with Marvel on MVC3 was a bit overbearing. They would pick on minute details, such as Dr. Strange's hand movements. Fast forward to MVC:I, I think there were issues with character selection, ie. not allowed to use X-Men characters. Again, I am fuzzy on the accuracy of this information but this is stuff I recall from the conversations surrounding both these games.

Because they are in that weird middle ground of not being really family friendly/universally marketable because shooting and combat, yet also not bloody and edgy enough for your serious capital G GAMERZ.
They are also rather gameplay and single player focused, so the social gamer isn't interested, and they lack the strong stories/character interactions that typically appeal to female gamers.
Basically, you are left with nerds who discovered it at age 12-16 and stuck with it. That's not that big of a demographic.

Damn, Metroid Prime 4 really showed a different side of Mutahar I don't think I have ever seen. The fact he is more excited about this than GTV VI of all games really says a lot. I am with him on this one. I have been impatientely waiting for this since 2017 (7 years ago btw if you can believe it, 8 when it is released) when it was first announced. No news, nothing for so many years... then 2019 happened where we got the bad news they have to restart development to hand it back over to Retro Studios, which they should have done from the start but anyways... All we got was speculation videos, predictions for 7 years straight... and now us Metroid fans can breathe a sigh of relief the wait is almost over... WE FINALLY GOT GAMEPLAY and a PROPER trailer! All we need is ONE MORE year and we can finally play this SOB!
Just thought of something funny while writing that... It's been SO LONG since we got the announcement (again 7 years) that some of you who were 14 at the time is now 21 😂😂 That is a big chunk of someone's life at that age!!

I remember 7 years ago when we first got the teaser, and people were so excited even then with just a title drop. This is such a good week with the Metroid trailer and Elden Ring DLC coming out later on. Now all we need is a Silksong release date...
Man, I got so hyped with that Nintendo direct and the games we saw, I completely forgot that all I wanted was SilkSong XD Still wondering wtf is going on with that game though...
One thing that got announced that people aren't talking about is Perfect Dark being added to the Switch online service with online multiplayer. Not only is that game a pain to emulate and one that never had online play but it was made by Rare and now the rights to it are owned by Microsoft. So a Microsoft owned game just got released on a Nintendo platform.

MSFT on other platforms isn't that big of a deal. They care more about $ than exclusivity. But they're not the gaming market leader in PC, console or handheld, so as much as they want control, they got to go where the gamers are.
@@murderman8578 Not as much now with the recent stuff to decompile N64 games and recompile them for PC but we still don't have 100% accurate emulation with ANY N64 emulator. Stuff is mostly playable but there are still glitches and timing issues.
Was not expecting Mario & Luigi to make a comeback. Superstar saga is easily in my top 10 games of all time.

the opening to Prime 4's trailer reminds me so much of DOOM Eternal's Immora level where you are just beelining right toward The Dark Lord in the middle of an all out war going on around you I love it so much!

My first Metroid game was Metroid Dread and it was one of my favorite games on switch. I've never played any of the Metroid Prime games

Dude as a fighting game fan the marvel vs capcom collection was an awesome reveal. Three years ago a bunch of members of the fgc was campaigning just to get mvc2 back so to see a whole collection for the marvel vs capcom games was sick

Fun fact! The “new big baddie” at 10:09 is actually Sylux, a Bounty Hunter from Metroid Prime Hunters (DS).
He also appeared briefly in both Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (Wii) and Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS) as a setup for his major role in this game.
This is like an emotional moment for me, Metroid has always held a special place in my heart, and is probably my most beloved or second most beloved series of all time.

This was a direct of many high highs, but man were the lows low. I mean if you're looking forward to those Funko Pop and the Hobbit games great, but I almost fell asleep during a lot of the 3rd party game announcements during this Direct.

The Zelda game really reminds me of an old PSOne game called Threads of Fate. It's a hidden gem, and I have really high hopes for the new game. Seems like it's canon to the Zelda timeline, too.

As frustrating as their business decisions are, Nintendo know how to make quality games. Why care about realistic graphics when 9th gen games feel more like 8.5 gen? Even games over a decade old look good.
I think Metroid Prime 4 is going to be a real banger, like one of Nintendo's best games
Pikmin 4 and Metroid Dread are two of the greatest games Nintendo has ever made (in my opinion) and i think that is because you notice so much more how the developers WANT to make a really good game and will take the time that it needs. Unlike your Marios or pokemons or zeldas that get new games pushed out frequently because they sell and Nintendo feels they HAVE to make another game in that franchise, although really good games often feel a bit incomplete to me.
Prime 4 is what I've been wanting to see since like a gazillion directs. Today is a good day, boys. The Zelda game looks pretty cool as well with that sandbox-ish gimmick with the staff.

After everything Metroid Prime 4 went through it deserves to be that next system launch title and cross gen title like Botw was to the Switch, it deserves that and 100% is that, that's why the 2025 was so ominous they just waiting for the full Switch 2 reveal now.

The one problem with Nintendo choosing Pokemon for the switch 2 release is that a huge amount of fans are requesting to push the games back till 2026, as it is Pokemon's 30th anniversary, they don't want it rushed, and it will be generation 10. The only Pokemon game that is currently confirmed to come out is Pokemon Legends ZA.

Watched that trailer 4 times in a row just feeling pure unbridled joy. Cant even remember the last game i was legitimately hyped for.
Not even a huge metroid fan (played the first 2 on virtual console and bought dread a bit ago but haven't played it yet) but metroid prime 4 is by far the biggest highlight of this direct. I'm more into zelda games and can't wait to play the new one, but knowing how long people have waited for mp4 and how important of a game it is, I'm a lot more excited to play that one than any other game

I’m excited for Metroid but that trailer looked so outdated and underwhelming. Still got a year to go so I’m sure it’ll be more polished but I just hope it still has that eerie and lonely feeling of Prime 1 and 2. Looks more like Halo now and I haven’t played 3 to see what direction they’ve taken it.

Mario and Luigi resurrected from the land of the dead. Metroid Prime 4 will launch before Silksong updates and we finally have a ZELDA game started by the character with its name in the title.
To me it's an 8/10 direct for the last year of Switch-only content.

If this is how the Switch goes out riding into the sunset before the Switch 2 arrives then it's a good way to go. That said, 2025 is gonna be an insane year for gaming. If 2023 was the true Zenith of banger releases, 2025 is absolutely gonna crush it.

Either I'm alone in this, or I'm the first person to say it - As excited as I am for the MP4 trailer (constantly checking for years), the trailer looked visually bad. The visual design was fine but the animation looked wrong. I also felt they made weird changes to Samus's Varia Suit. The music was good though I felt it was trying to hard.
I'm cautiously optimistic for MP4, hoping it was just a bad render for the trailer.

The only LoZ I’ve played is twilight princess so I don’t know a whole lot about the games but this one just looks like it’s gonna be so fun to explore
