  • With the Tacoma in the garage, it’s time to install some more vinyl wrap. In this video we will be wrapping the passenger front door on the Tacoma.
    The vinyl is Avery Dennison Satin Black Rock Grey Metallic.

    This is my first time watching you put the vinyl on. It seems this is not your first time. I want to do my second generation Tacoma.

      It’s a fun project that results in a whole new look. The Tacoma was my first full wrap project. Before getting started I subscribed to an online resource with wrap videos so I had a bit of an idea going in what the ideal concept was, then just needed to execute.
      With a quality material to work with, I found the process is fairly straight forward on most panels however up close you’d find plenty of mistakes throughout.

    No mention of your Tacoma decal in the end, and I didn’t see you go over the area to raise it and stick it around the lettering?!? Over all great job!

      Good catch, I didn’t really address that in the edit. I can share a follow up of the embossed logo!

    Good stuff. Can you recommend a solid company that sells wraps? I'm looking for snow camo in particular. 😊

      @TunersCanvas  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Absolutely. I have been sourcing my vinyl supplies from MetroRestyling. They have a wide selection of brands, colors, and patterns without the need to have an account to buy. I bet you’ll find a camo design that’ll work or possibly submit a design to have custom printed.

    Wouldn’t be a truck video if I didn’t ask what your rim and tire set up is

    • @TunersCanvas
      @TunersCanvas  Před rokem

      For sure! They’re 20x9 offset 0 with 265/50 tire. Truck is lowered on SOS Performance kit. I love the fit. Perfect size in my opinion if looking for sport setup instead of off-road setup.

      @@TunersCanvas i was wondering how the 265 50R20 felt. Is it not as rough as I’d imagine it would be

    • @TunersCanvas
      @TunersCanvas  Před rokem +1

      @@mramazing9000 The Michelin LTX are comfortable tires. I can imagine a more off-road tire would be a bit rugged but I feel there is enough sidewall on the 50 series to ride decent.
      I first had 285/50 but knew right away it was too much when they arrived. Very happy after switching to the 265.

    what video do you have the beam to the back window?

    • @TunersCanvas
      @TunersCanvas  Před rokem +1

      Dang. Looking back through the content I see there wasn’t any c-pillar footage.
      I remember it being tedious, start at the top and work the film down to the bottom. You won’t get too far behind the cab between box, but the vinyl will tuck behind the rear window molding and knifeless tape a few inches into the rear door jam with door open.

    Hey boss what do you charge for a job like that?

    • @TunersCanvas
      @TunersCanvas  Před rokem +2

      Hey. Lately I have been making material lists and costs, adding some for labor, and ending up around $2400-$2900 depending on size of vehicle and color choice.

    • @TunersCanvas
      @TunersCanvas  Před 2 lety +2

      I don’t know exact amount used but ordered a full 5’x75’ roll. There is some vinyl left on the roll. I feel it would be at least 60’ length used.

    How many yards of vinyl did it take? Sorry if I missed that in your video. Trying to knock out this week. Much appreciated.

    • @TunersCanvas
      @TunersCanvas  Před rokem +1

      Hey. I ordered a full 75’ roll for the Tacoma and had about 10’ left over I believe.
      Not having a lot of experience and choosing a directional color, I likely consumed a little extra as precaution through the process.

    How long was the set up from start to finish

    • @TunersCanvas
      @TunersCanvas  Před rokem

      Hmm. It was over a year ago, hard to recall specifically, but I’d guess about an hour and a half to get the mirror / handle off, clean, wrap, and reassemble.

      So far the tacoma wrap has been through two winters. Holding up very well actually I’m impressed. Plan to pull it off and change colors this summer possibly. Not because of wear but would like to match it to my Chaser which is a dark metallic blue.
