This is country! This is a country singer! If you have never heard her before you have a lot of catching up to do. Say hello and enjoy, This is good stuff....
Herb Houston who is! Real country! I have been a fan of Patty Loveless for many years. She is cousin to two more class acts who are a rarity in this day and age: Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle and all of their contemporaries in country music. I'm not putting down all artists of the more contemporary country genre, for many artists deserve their due, Josh Turner, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Marin Morris to name a few but much of the classic sound and the soul of the country music genre is lost to the commercial appeal these days.
Herb Houston i have been a fan of patty loveless since the 80s. And even longer a fan of her cousons loretta lynn and crystal gayle. All such lovely and talented ladies who represent real country!
Patty's vocals have an inherent depth of feeling, emotion, everything a song with this kind of lyrics needs. Love those harmonies on the chorus...Dear Patty gives all the viewers a chance to hear such good, good vocals/lyrics...Conne in Wichita
First song I ever heard her sing......right before I left for bootcamp in the Airforce....still think shes soooo talented and an AMAZING country music singer...GOD BLESS😇🙏❤❤❤❤
i love patty's voice when you hear her on the radio you don't have to wonder "now who is that again" nobody sings like her i just wish someone would remind country radio of that
+roy KNOWLTON Me, too! To me, it always gave an individual recognition to each, and though all were similar? None were exactly the same. Some liked to tie it in a tail, some liked TWO-tails, and most just liked the "To Hell With It" style. Not unlike some of the 60's/70's styles, as well. My wife says about her natural waves...once Irish red but now with "frosting"☺: "A womans hair is the same as a beautifully maintained mane & tail on a young, filly-horse. It gives her the pride and "sass" she desires every day. And, though most of us won't "push" the matter? You damned-men should already have it figured out by the time it comes for that ring on the finger!" I simply replied cautiously: "Yes, Ma'am!!"......
"Don't Toss Us Away" is a song written by Bryan MacLean and recorded by country rock band Lone Justice in 1985 on their self-titled debut album. In 1988, the song was recorded by American country music singer Patty Loveless, who released the song as the second single from her album Honky Tonk Angel, in February 1989. Loveless' version reached the number five position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in May 1989.[1]

Beautiful song by a fantastic artist! Too bad most people don't understand this sentiment anymore. One simple fight and it's on to the next one. Sad.
Something about this track grabs my heart and squeezes the hell out of it.
