- This is a project that's a long time coming! A marriage of all the specs and history we know and love about Charvel guitars: this is the Nitro-finished, graphic-painted, aged & masterbuilt San Dimas. This was a run of six guitars built for The Music Zoo and we had to document them, along with a great story from Zoo-owner Tommy Colletti about what it was like to hunt these guitars down in the '80s.

I started playing in 85. I was 15. Started on a Baretta and then got a Soloist. Then a Model 6. Was the greatest time to be a beginner guitar God.
Wow this is real old school ones 🔥
Very cool story. Same, picked up guitar in ‘80. Edward was the king and everything reflected that.
That flame model is sick
that first flame job one was my fave.
Very cool and I remember shopping for guitars in the 80s. I had an old Charvel catalog, and eventually bought a 85 San Dimas pointy head stock strat that I regrettably sold. My dream spec San Dimas Charvel is a non graphic 1 or 2 humbucker, strat head with the classic gold non-locking trem. Would like a chunkier neck and prefer non-aged.
We could make that happen if you'd like! Call us up and spec out that awesome San Dimas!
these look killer, yes!
Can you get one of these built in just plain white with no aging/relicing and with a v-trem? I am a huge fan of the Legacy series!
That to me was the time machine Charvel and has the neck i love but unfortunately not only are they super rare in the used market but are $5K and up!
Not to mention most sell from outside the united states. Would be awesome to be able to get one through TMZ.
These actually look really good
Will Charvel do a Gary Moore tribute guitar Fender did one but it was way expensive.
It's the players job to put his/her dings, dangs, scratches on their instrument. I prefer a new guitar and spend the next few years putting my reliccing on it.
I need that hotrod .....and a great rig....😎
The era of why I picked up a guitar in the first place 🤘
\m/
Why on Earth don’t those ultra cool guitars have the screw-in Floyd Rose trem arms?! Looking at those nearly perfect guitars, the later collared arms just smack you right in the face. Other than that? Well. Done. 🤘😎🤘
People actively seek old guitars in as good condition as they can find. Dudes spend as much as they can to gt new guitars made that look like they have been sitting in a dumpster for 40 years waiting to be thrown into a wood chipper. In high school I worked all summer in 1987 doing construction work to save up enough to order a red Charvel Model 3 with a Kahler. The good old days.
These are amazing! I have to figure out how I can get at least one of these!!
give us a shout for one of the next ones coming! Sales@themusiczoo.com
Do the same people that make Custom Charvel’s make the Jackson custom shop guitars?
Not sure if it's the exact same people for everything but Fender owns both brands so I assume there's a lot of overlap
Yes
Yes, they are built in the same workshop
Big brass block or regular?
Are these for sale?
No star??
Hmmmm all sold out imagine that
they went fast as expected, but more are on order!
I don't know about all these... comment anyway choose the one applicable to your site lol...
Why?
cuz its fun!
Do they come with pre ripped jeans ? This relic fad is really stupid
relics have been around for almost 30 years, we're not so sure its a fad! and you can still order one NOS :)
Why?!
Jog on, Tim.
why not!
@@themusiczoo I love Charvels. I'm not a fan of the very heavy relicing on these HRF paint jobs. I own a Music Zoo relic Charvel blue/black HS.
Exactly what year of never did Charvel offer nitro finish in the 80's... Lame...
My thoughts exactly.
ALL Charvels in the 80s and 90s were polyurethane
Without the relic they were not only ugly. They were 80's ugly. With the relic, they're 80's super ugly.
How can these be cool ?
Their beat up and look melted.
Looks like the previous owner used these like a blind man uses a cain
The manufacturer obviously dosen't even need to be careful handling them, but will surely charge more.
And these are the opposite of the 80's
IF you really lived it... youd know this instinctively.
