  • Ten years down the line, the Charvel Nitro Aged San Dimas is still an incredibly successful guitar. It's possibly the model that The Music Zoo is most known for designing as an exclusive run. We wanted to create an updated for 2019 video that tells not only the origin story of the Nitro Aged San Dimas, but the tweaks we've continued to make on the model that include roasted woods and even crazier finishes! Once you pick a Nitro Aged San Dimas up, you know that it is the perfect guitar for those who want to play fast, fun and heavy music!

Music Zoo is one of the best guitar shops ever. These guys are awesome who clearly love what they do.

I don’t think almost $6000 is an “affordable” price tag for a guitar that’s worth $1500 brand new from charvel and has been relic’d..

I agree that $6,000 price tag you mention is crazy, but it puts it in line with Fender Custom Shop 'master built' guitar prices; but still well above regular Fender Custom Shop guitars. There are a few Charvel Custom Shop guitars on Music Zoo's website that really caught my eye, but I'd never be wiling to pay upward of $4,000 for a basic alder body, bolt on neck guitar.

snowBlind yeah man I mean, it’s just a basic charvel that’s been roughed up. It’s got basic hardware. I spent just under 1000 dollars and built my own and it fucking shreds, and the guitar I built is basically the same specs as the one in the video apart from the hardware, and the fact that I painted and set it up myself

@@nicklane2876 There's more to a guitar than specs and hardware.

James Fielding yeah I get that, but I can’t justify paying nearly $9000 Australian dollars for basically a charvel that’s been thrown around and battered. Like I said, I built my own for around 1000 bucks and bought hardware and everything I needed that’s pretty much identical if not more. They’re charging way way way to much money for a basic guitar

Hell yes!! My first Charvel came from you guys. A candy tangerine SoCal. Back in like 2010 or something. Glorious instrument. Now I have many. Some real deal vintage San Dimas ones. Long live Charvel.

I really like that black over daphne blue combo. Have y'all did any Custom Shop guitars with pale moon ebony fretboards? I'm picturing one of the blacked out Charvel Custom Shops currently in your inventory, but with a pale moon ebony board on it. I think that would be a nice looking combo. Charvel's website has a picture of one with pale moon ebony board, but it's on a flamed top with gold hardware.

Also $6000US equals like $8000 Australian so that’s even more expensive. Personally I love the look and even just hearing it I would absolutely love to get my hands on one of these but after all, it’s just a few pieces of wood slapped together and relic’d by someone who knows how to relic guitars properly.

  • @These_go_to_eleven_1959

Holy shit! He is all over the place describing the neck on these? Early 82 he owns? a charvel star? 1963 fender strat??? WTF! which one are these necks based on?

USA Charvels are increasingly out of reach of working musicians. That needs to change. COVID. Gotcha, but this has been going on for awhile. If Chubtone can produce a kickass USA-made guitar in southern California with top-grade components, so can Charvel.

4500 for a custom is just silly. Ive played them and I have played a 1200.00 Charvel. I just dont get it. I can not understand the price difference, Sorry. It makes no sense to my ears or my hands.
