- Hi guys! 👋🏼 I hope you enjoyed this video of me making this Minimal Textured 3D Wall Fabric Art. I love the simplicity and how anyone can do these with inexpensive materials.
In conclusion I would recommend the plaster method of creating this piece, it dried much faster and it seals the small holes in the fabric making it less porous, giving you a nice primed layed unlike the PVA method which required a lot more paint, drying time and can pick up so much dust! Plus because the plaster is white, it saves you from having to paint another few layers of paint especially if your fabric isn't brilliant white.

Love the pieces. Instead of painting the Plaster piece. After its set from the initial stage make a solution of plaster the consistency of paint using a paint brush paint the plaster on. Do several Coates of plaster before finally painting... The extra coats will fill any gaps and using a brush helps smooth the surface and is therapeutic do 2 or 3 coats adds strength then before painting a rub down with sand paper. for the little nooks & crannies use a pad or Henry board used for finger nails this way you continue to shape it. when smooth start to paint or leave as-is. And if you want to Varnish.. Also to help shape it I find the cardboard loo rolls & kitchen towel rolls stapled to the canvas help with the shaping. Im sure friends will collect them.
I love piano and Cello solo Instrumentals no singing Unless 'im in the mood then its Mario Lanza or Elvis. Take great care one & all. Regards Paul.
Well she was correct about people reading comments for tips and info from someone who has done this art as well. THANK YOU kind Sir for being so willing as to share your art knowledge here with all who sought it in the comment field!!
I love to art experience, acrylic painting, acrylic pouring, faux stained glass, resin ocean and geode boards, giant canvas mixed media, clay, etc BUT I’m dying to try this form of art. I also love the plaster/modeling paste to art board look!
I have plaster of Paris and (the more fluffy type) spackle filler however I’m not certain I have the ‘right’ material to do this with!!! I hate wasting material to experiment but sometimes that’s how it goes!! I watched a video on YT yesterday where a girl used DAS air dry clay she rolled it out fairly thin to the size of her canvas (smaller canvas like under a 16x20 in) and shaped it out and overlapped the clay to cover the sides. It dried beautifully no cracks!!! Amazing! She did cover it for a slower dry tho. So many ways to accomplish the end results look.
I love LOVE your toilet paper/kitchen paper towel roll idea tho … I KNEW I was saving those for some future reason!!! 😂😂
If you could advise what materials you use vs plaster of Paris (which hardens fairly fast if very thick even more so) I’ve seen a lot of different mixes, pva glue with plaster , water of course, some mix white paint in too. I’m scared or nervous to start because of the mixture variant!!!
I love the conversations I have at the Home Depot, Lowe’s etc with the building material dept workers!😂 they look at me like I’ve grown a second head when I try to tell them what I’m wanting material ‘for’!!!! 🤦🏼♀️
I am so glad to hear that Im not the only person that has to be in "the mood" to create art or anything else! I told my husband that one time and he thought I was crazy!! love your work
Enjoy your delivery style. You voice and calm and soothing. Please keep the videos coming!
Thank you so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed the video 💛
Thanks for a great video, now I know I will be using plaster. I love to listen to Keiko Matsui when I am painting. I finally saw her in concert a few years back, awesome performer.
Thanks for sharing this!! I’ve recently gotten into textured art and will definitely be trying this.
I can't wait to try this. Thanks for sharing.

Great video! I am about to try my first of the fabric art and with your help I have decided to go with plaster or Paris. Thanks!

Thank you so much!
Thanks for the knowledge here! I'm looking for a variation of organic looking textures to create resin art! When it comes to music, I like classical, liquid drum and bass (the soft chilled stuff)
Loved it!
J’aime beaucoup votre style, bravo et merci 🤩😍
Thanks great video!
Im making a sliding barn door, for my closet, Do you think the plaster method is sturdy enough to be used on a an object that is in use? What would you recommend to strengthen it?
This is beautiful ❤ I have a question if I make a plaster one can I paint any color when it’s dried ?
Hello. That was amazing. Can we wash them when they become dirty? if yes with what we can wash them?
Hi
Thank you for video ❤
May I ask you what do you use as a primer? 😊
I started off with a 2' by 3' gallery at campus using plaster repairs powder form and my consistency was so off at thickened up way too quick and I kept trying to try and wasted 25 pounds basically the 4 campuses I do have there's too much material on I don't like them but it does definitely stick I can't get it off the canvases. I did find a great tip using modge podge ,Just paint your canvas with it and use starch for fabrick to hold your shape and it turned out great . Cheaper to . I have yet to try it . But I do plan on going back and getting more plaster Paris and using your ratios 2 to 1 with the water is that correct? And when I did mine the 1st time I actually made up my paint with glue mixture and add it to the plaster of Paris . So this was a great tip for me on as Fars the plaster to the water and let me know if you try out the mod podgh with the spray for fabric starch.. Thanks again for sharing . Have you ever used like a joint compound not using material but just for are for texture on a Canvas.. Bless you and thanks again.
heh, spooky.. yesterday i bought 2.5kg of plaster of paris.. basically to try stuff like this.. thanks for the video :)
Hey, so beatiful Can you please tell me, what color you used ? And are there any problems with it ? Like color is broken or something like this. Sorry for my english 😅
powder paint ratio to powder plaster mix from the start can paint the fabric for you, the same with pva solution with paint mix.
It looks beautiful but you supposed you mix PVA and water first
Beautifully explained ❤ I guess we can use spray paint too
Yes, definitely!
I wonder if you mix the PVA and water together first then soak the fabric, would that be better than painting it on after? I'll try it.
I soaked the fabric in glue and water mix then wrung it out. After I used my gel medium to “paint”the air bubbles out. I think I’m going to coat the plaster next cos I like the stone look of it. I’ll update my results
@@tanyasealarkhow was your result ?
@@tanyasealark how was it?
Hi!! love your work! can I ask what's the difference between plaster and modelling paste? besides the price? hahahahahaha
Could you please advise what to do with leftover plaster? How to get rid of it? It’s easy when it’s thicker so you can get rid of it when it’s dry, but if its water with plaster ( more watery) what do you do with it? Appreciate your advice. Thank you for your videos
Thank you so much for responding ❤🤗 it makes sense now 👍🏻
Do you have to sand the fabric before applying the paint? And do you need to sand and then seal and then paint?
you soak the fabric in a mixture of water and glue..than drape it on the canvas...
Can u use mukta vedi and magnesium together??
Do you think you have to seal the plaster one?
Hi Im trying to do the one with plaster, water glue in the same mix. Why is mine not stiffing up? Any tips to make ot all firm or is it not saveable? Its not supersoft bit its not firm.. 🤷🏻♀️
How do you fix cracks when they appear? Did a mix of plaster pva and filler.. all going downhill.. 😫
This has been soo helpful!! Thank you ❤
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching xx
Love your art work ❤
Thank you Isabel! 💛
My music choices depend on my mood for the day. Sometimes its violin, piano, bamboo flute, lo-fu instrumentals. Other times its kpop, r&b, or pop.
@@AllThingsGrace I just love music. It really is my first love
I bought plaster today and started Doing this. But your plaster Seele to be colorless and Mine somekinda looks greyish.. i Hope when it gets drY it won‘t leave it’s color coz my cotton is brown😢
What kind of paint did you use? I used acrylic paint on mine and it gave it a glossy finish which I didn't like.
Mix the paint with a bit of baking soda and you'll get a lovely matte/ textured finish :)
@@EllaRosiexBaking soda with paint sounds intriguing.I am trying to replicate the matte glazes certain raku pottery; will baking soda added to acrylic paint come anywhere close? Thank you!
@@jeraldbaxter3532 with baking soda, it will be much more textured, like a sandy finish. If you're looking for a more uniform matte finish, I would recommend a simple matte spray paint once finished.
@@EllaRosiex Thank you! 😊
What are the measurements for the plaster and water one?
1 part plaster and 2 parts water, i just tried this yesterday and personally added way more plaster; i found that the more plaster you add the faster it will dry, when you add too little plaster it takes forever to dry !
What was the canvas prime with? The one for the plaster method
I'd like to know also!
She already said...Gesso!!
Do you think you could spray paint it instead?
Can I use regular wall paint?🧐 I used 50x70 canvas and thinking acrylic paint is going to cost me a fortune 🫣
@@AllThingsGrace which is better to use?
Great video and excellent sharing! The volume was was too low
does plaster art crack?
مانوع القماش
What is PVA
it is a type of glue. You can also get archival PVA if you want.
i put on youtube.
My friend said im crazy bcs im making art in a complete silence without any songs🤣😭
I do all my art in silence 😊
OK text to speech I didn't catch it that's supposed to say plaster of Paris. I hope you make sense of my comment below.
I love listening to saxophone or handpan melodies while creating art
Btw I love these can’t wait to try
I listen to Gospel music...or jazz.
Such great vibes!!
Spray paint
classical
i love watching you but can't hear you. Can you speak closer to yiour speaker perhaps.
Too much doubting. I don't wanna waste my time where the Ingredients are unclear, the method and no idea of where you're going w it. Also, why didn't you sand the plaster one? I wld think you cld have done another layer of plaster to be able to sand it and then seal it w paint- I'm just saying not well thought out. That wastes my time.
Nice but… Talk to much

This is not well down. Research your work before you present it to the public.
If you don’t have something nice to say……….? I think you meant well done, by the way. Suppose you should review your written comments before you present them to the public?
Primed it with Gesso. How long until it’s ready? When it’s dry? Apologies if it’s a silly question but I’m a complete novice 🫣
Ok wow! I need to do this! Where can I buy Plaster of Paris? Or which brand would you recommend using? ty 🫶🏽
hiii :) from california @theconcreteartcollective
Always looks 4 tips…. 🫶🏻
