I love these! So organic. I'm pondering what a piece of table décor might look like with this technique - a large oval pebble with beautiful peaks or maybe as the outside finish to a wooden storage box...as always, very inspiring and lots to think about :-) Thank you for such a detailed tutorial.
I am so happy to hear you like my art projects! 🤗💕 I was also thinking about an oval canvas, but I couldn't find anywhere in stock. Next time I'm doing it oval! ✌️
Wow I love how u show how easy with the right stuff and Ur easy instructions 😁
So glad you think so 🥰
❤❤❤ thank you for explaining it
Love it! Thanks for sharing
you can use a wet sponge instead of sandpaper-smoother and no mess
Such a great idea ☺️ Will try it next time
THANK YOU for sharing your remarkable experience 👌
My pleasure 🥰
What a great video. Thank you so much for the effort and the inspiration!
My pleasure 🥰
Very nice! I especially liked the second one! It had lots of ruffles!
So glad you like it 🥰 I think it's easier to nail the raffles on a smaller canvas 😊
They both look amazing!! I need to try one soon 🤩
Thank you! Yes, try it out 🥰
Brilliant… beautiful work, thank you for the tutorial 👍👏👏👏🙏
So glad you like it 🥰
Probably the best and the most clear, to the point tutorial… Just what I needed! ♥️
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you like it 🥰
So gorgeous work love it 👏👏👏
Thank you 🥰💕
I’ve just bought my first flat and I’ve just finished decorating it all. I want to do a gallery wall in the living area. I have some art work that want to use (which is what gave me the idea of a gallery wall), however I’m also an artist and want a mix of my artwork and now I’ve seen this I’d love to make some of these. I love this.
I'm so happy to hear you love my DIYs 🥰 Try it out, it's a bit messy, but overall it's easy to do 💞
@Home By Mon I'm a painter and I used to work with young children, I'm good with mess 🤣
Hermosa obra de arte, felicitaciones!!!
🥰💕💕
Perfect and easy explanation 👏
Happy you like it 🥰
It’s beautiful 😍
Thank you so much!! 🥰
Beautiful creations
Thank you 🥰
❤❤❤❤❤
Hopefully some useful advice from a another artist: 1). Add white pva glue to slow the process and prevent cracking. 2). If you aren’t using plaster (cast) strips, cut your gauze down to manageable strips to layer without wrinkles. 3). Recycle old house paint or discounted wall paint to cut costs (a LOT cheaper than artists paint). I’m a huge “reuse, recycle, repurpose artist 😉. 4). If you want to avoid brush strokes, add a flow agent; floetrol is always my go to, but thinning with water works on a lot of acrylic based paints (just not all! Always test first)
Wow! Those are some nice tips! 🥰 Thank you so much for sharing them! Fun fact - I always use wall paint since it's so much cheaper 🤣💞
@@HomeByMon House paint…. me, too! It’s basically the same with just minor changes for consistency. As for the plaster cast strips, a little while back, I was commissioned to make “tree stumps” for a wedding table to hold a small cake and over 200 cupcakes (the tree stumps jutted out to hold some cupcakes while also holding the main extra large platter “stump” (it was almost 4 feet wide and 3 inches deep and resembled a cross section of a trunk), then a small stump on top of the cross section to hold the tiny wedding cake that was for just the bride and groom. I was sooooo thankful to be able to get the cast strips because it helped the plaster adhere so much easier. They reused all of it by coating with a strong sealer and put them throughout their garden. Surprisingly, the plaster has held up in the Florida rain! I think it was the pva glue that helped in bonding, but definitely spraying them down with a sealer did as well. I think your work is wonderful, and thanks for not getting upset over some of my advice!
@@tomhdg What a story! I bought an acrylic sealer a month ago, but I haven't tried it yet. I will use it on a table I did with plaster and wall pait to test it. It's matt so I hope it doesn't look like it's been sealed 😅
Oh and why would I get upset 🥰 Your tips and advice is everything! Keep it up 💞
@@HomeByMonI was going to suggest pva glue as well and I also add white paint as well it gives a creamer consistency, and after u do the initial layer make the plaster a bit thicker it will hide the brush strokes and it’s easier to sand, but I really love the way they turned out, sometimes people don’t like getting hints or tips it offends them, I love getting them and I’m glad ur open to them, cos I always say the best artists never stop learning cos the best can always get better 😋
Omg this is so amazing 😻 I gonna definitely try it 😊 thank you
🥰 so glad you like it!
Wow!! Ilove it😮 🎉🎉
Yaay so happy to hear that 🤗💞
SUPER!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For sanding the plaster you could also use open mesh drywall sanding strops, much longer lasting. I’m thinking that acrylic pour painting techniques for the final coat. Love the art pieces!🙏🏻
That's such a nice tip 🥰 Thank you so much! Will try it out next time 💕
Thanks! It was really helpful 😊
Thank you so much! I'm so happy you like it!!!!
I love it!!! Feeling so inspired now :)
Awww so glad to hear that 🥰
Very cool! 😍😍😍
Thank you! So glad you like it!!! 🥰
BELLÍSIMO ❤
💕💕💕
Its great!
🥰
Beautiful
Thank you 🥰
Nice. I was thinking at the beginning you didn’t know what you were doing 😊, but it turned out really cute. Adding the exact same piece to the back & adding picture hooks so it can be hung a wall.
I had an idea 🤣 but, I will admit I was feeling a bit confused at the beginning 🤭
I love the idea and made it myself, but I ended up using a sponge and cloth to paint by dabbing with the diluted plaster, so you don't see any streaks from the brush on your work. Nice to do. Thanks for the nice ideas.
Thanks for the tips ☺️💕 I'm so glad you liked my projects 🥰
Thank you!
🥰💕
THANK YOU, Mon!! I've been wanting to know how to make the ones that are more fluffy so this couldn't have come at a better time! I'm so glad you shared this. Keep up the great shares, Mon!I love watching your creativity come to life. What breed of dog is Mars? He's absolutely precious. ❤
Thank you so much for your kind words 🥰 I'm so happy you like my art and my videos 💖
Mars is a whippet 🐶 He's the in-between breed - smaller than a Greyhound and larger than Italian greyhound.
Thank youuuuu so much 🎉🖤✨️🤞👊
Glad you liked it 🥰
Thank you very much for such detailed workshop!❤
So glad you like it!🥰
tres belle
Brava e tenace!
It seemed easier with the MDF. Wonderful!
Yes, it actually was easier with the mdf ☺️ But maybe it was because it's a smaller size
@@HomeByMon Yes, perhaps. Also, maybe easier to staple!
Love your design. Very pretty. Question: How are you using the glue and it's not burning your fingers? I don't think I could use the glue on my fingers. Will need to use something else.
You could use gloves ☺️ I should have used gloves too
👏👏👏
🥰🍀
❤❤❤
Hi !! Thank you so much for the video , can we make this directly on walls?? thank you again x
Hmmm, that's such a nice idea! I am not sure, but will try it out 🥰
My fave technique! 🔥 Who inspired you? 😊
Heey I just subscribed to your channel 😍 I may have seen some of your TikToks as I was searching for inspo 🙌 Your work is amazing though, keep it up 🥰🥰🥰

I am delighted with your way of sharing these art secrets!! I've been talking to artists even without mastering the language, you know by translation... some ignore me, they don't say the material, they don't give tips. you did it step by step!! thanks. I just want to know more what is the material that goes on the screen? cement? tile grout? Marcos Antônio art teacher retired after 32 years. I retired in February today I want to discover more about my art that I didn't teach at school. I am from Brazil. Pleasure Miss Mon🌷👏👏👏❣️

Hi, I'm so glad you like my art pieces 🥰
I am a DIY channel, I'm not an artist whatsoever, and I tried replicating some of the art pieces I saw on pinterest. They turned out great, honestly 🤗
I am using Plaster of Paris. But I think you can also use joint compound or tile glue for this project too.
ok I'll do it! thank you very much!!
ok I'll do it! thank you very much!!
Metal mesh is much better- you have more control over the look and folds. You can use plaster cloth wrap to cut into smaller strips that are easy to place into hard-to-get spots.
I will definitely try out the metal mesh if I find it in store! Thank you for the amazing tips 🥰
Hy there, i love your work. I’ve tried to make one, but the plaster cracks . Do you know why ? Thanks
I'm so glad you like my projects! Plaster tends to crack sometimes, but when you add mesh tape it should prevent that. Another thing that helps, is not letting it dry too fast. Maybe set it to dry in a colder place. Also, make sure to mix the plaster by the instructions on your package 🥰
I notice you used a brush for the painting, can you also use a can of spray paint to make it go faster?
Yes, you can absolutely use spray paint too. I just had this acrylic beige at home, and that's why I used that ☺️
It’s therapeutic, u should try brushes when u find some free time 😇
@@cool3041 oh yes! You are so right about that 💕
hi, what if doing this on 18 x 24 canvas, would gauze still work ? or something bigger
I think it should work ☺️💕
So we can color it anyway we like according to our room theme ?
Yes!! 🥰
How do you hang the second one on the wall?
I ordered a screw on hanger for frames on Amazon 😅
Hi can anyone advise.. how can I fix my “ artwork” that is cracking.. i checked lots of different tutorials.. should have done this one.. 😫
Try joint compound or spackle 🙂
Yes, maybe joint compound and a drywall mesh tape can help fix it 😔
@@HomeByMon thanks for the tip!
@@tashtash8834 anytime 🥰
Ok not sure what I am doing wrong. I have tried doing one of these 4 times using different methods and they never turn out.
Oh, no 😔 What's happening? It cracks or what?
@@HomeByMon no 1. I can not get nice ruffles 2. the paste looks really bad when it dries and not nice like yours
@@sdophoto1405 Hmm.. maybe you should try watering it down a bit. Also, you can sand down any imperfection afterwards, so that it gets smooth and nice
👏👏👏👏✋️✋️

18:44 As always, I do see things in abstract... things ;-)
I forgot how this thing is named, but what matters here is what i see. I want to see how many other people see things in abstract things in art, nature w/e.
So, what i see is something like a dear or similar animal, surrounded by trees. She might be eating some leaves or something else from that part. I would love to know how to paint or draw what i see and make unique art from my own perspective.
I always love when I did photography, especially abstract one, that different people will see different things. I never wanted for people to see what i see, so that's why i never title my things. I just scribe something there but not as a title.
Cheers from a photographer and maybe in the next life a small tiny artist!? ;-) I can draw just a little bit and recently i made my first colored drawings, but i'm not sure that my health will let me continue that journey.
w/e. I do what i like to do so, i will go on on my remaining journey and without hope, will just love what life brings me and then what my ideas comes to life from that ;-)
Thank you so much for this amazing comment! 🥰 I look at my painting every day since it is hanged up on a wall in my living room (the second one) and I always see my dog Mars in it 💕
hehe, that's kind of subjective, you know!
You are influenced by sentiment and the cute dog. But it's not wrong and as long as you see something positive for you, that's the best you can get.
I just hope that you will look around you and start to see new things and also draw them. I can't do that yet, but maybe soon i will can. I always wanted to do that and this is the most unique thing you can get.
Visuals from life and still life around you and then put them on art mediums.
I see good vibes in you and also you seem to enjoy even the tiniest thing you do. That's the spirit and keep it that way no matter what life will bring on. No matter what!
Remember that. I always see the full part of the glass even if my life is only going down with everything.
Creating new things every day, looking at other good people doing art, craft etc, that keeps me alive.
Cheers!

@@klannstyle you are so right!! 🥰 I love the way you think! Thank you so much for your amazing comment 💕
np, i hope i will see you going on for a long time here!@@HomeByMon
I absolutely LOVE these pieces SO much!!! Just beautiful! The comments on here are really nice too. Very helpful. ❤
So glad you like it 🥰
I tried the second technique and the first layer cracked everywhere
😯😞 I'm so sorry it didn't work for you. Can you walk me through the process so we can figure out why this happened? I had no cracks on my pieces whatsoever
I’m not sure. I pretty much stapled the mesh on a 40”x40” stretched canvas then I applied a thin layer of plaster on top of it. I left it to dry for 24 hours. I thinking the canvas might be the issue?
Maybe the layer of plaster was not watery enough?
@@PriyankaAher5 yes, I was thinking the same thing. Try it out again on a smaller piece
