I love how they make Mockingbird all pinless... just to put a massive hole in her back because they want to reuse
Good review of this box set. I agree with you that Hank Pym needs cargo pockets on the pants. The Spider Woman shiny paint is an EASY fix if you have some Krylon clear coat matte spray to use on it. That'll unify the sheen on the figure just fine. Shouldn't have to have to do things like that, but Hasbro doesn't always have the greatest QC. At least all the head sculpts are fantastic, and the paint in general looks nice on all the figures.
I got the Hawkeye/Skycycle box set today, and I think it blows the older one away! So much more comic book accurate, and again, nice paint throughout.
I think ALL the spider woman Julia carpenter heads are, lack luster, it's like hasbro barely gave effort to that figure. Even though she is iconic.
I need this newly improved Tigra! Love the toned down color and the new head sculpt. She is such a fun character!
Where's trench coat Simon in that group shot? No AWC display is complete without it. 😉 My set is due to arrive today. I swear Hasbro puts out inferior versions of characters on purpose, like the retro Tigra, just so they can do an easy repaint later on and get fans to double dip.
Hasbro absolutely does this, and if we’re being honest? I’d do the exact same thing if I were in their position. It sucks for collectors (myself included), but it’s smart business
I’m here for the Tigra! Ordering and reselling the other characters to my geek squad.
Now that I got this set in my hands I gotta admit I really love it. This was one of my favorite books back in the 80's. It's nice this team get some lobe. WCA/AWC always seems to get forgotten. I hope Hasbro continues these sets and the villain set we got earlier. It would be great to get a classic Avengers villain set this year since we got an X-Men one last time. Zemo, Skurge, Blackout, Gravitron, Swordsman, Count Nefaria...the list goes on.
Mockingbird’s upper forearms between her sleeves and bracelets should have been painted or cast in flesh tone.
nice review @Jay, I always knew this would be the first review you'd make since coming back, as you seem to be an Avengers guy. 😁
I want that Hank Pym. I thought he was like that because of the exposure from Pym Particles had strain his nervous system to the point that he could not shrink or grow safely anymore. But because of the exposure he could shrink or grow different items instead without the particles. Can't wait to get my hands on these . Cool review.
Yes. Wasn't there something about his heart being strained?
@@jonathanhampshire6856 Yeah something along those lines.
Hank the only one.
I'm happy to have the other versions. But I never thought we would get this style of Hank Pym.
Great rundown, JayC!
A first-rate overview of a cool box set!
I like Mockingbird and Tigra!
I love Tigra! 🐅
The headsculpt on Tigra isnt entirely new, it's just the hair that's a new piece. You can tell it's the exact same face as last year's release.
That face is actually pretty good, imo.
Love the new color on the figure and the hair looks great. Wish my hair had waves lol
That posing.....😱🙈😱
Wrong wonderman. I prefer when warachine was in the group.
I miss your old intro for your channel
👍🏽
I wouldn't call that a "paint blemish" on the Spider-Woman, it's just a difference between plastic that was molded in black (the torso, abdomen, hips, shoulders) and black that was painted onto white plastic (the thighs and upper arms)
How is it possible to be such a big part of the toy community for so many years but still have no idea of how to pose figures or provide proper lighting?
