My mom put me onto Jon Baptiste because she’s always watching Stephen Colbert. I was at the festival but I couldn’t get through the crowd for pharrell and found myself watching him. Omg!!!!!! He was excellent and has gained a new fan. Yes damn good.

This was definitely worth the drive from Philly! J.B. was red hot! So blessed to have seen him in person both Saturday Night and at the pop up church the next day on Sunday. Jon Batiste is everything!
It's such a blessing, you know -- the guy has always been talented, but these past few years he's really come into his own, his potential has become actual, and the guy is like a shooting star across the skies. I saw a lot of P Funk shows back in the 1990s when George Clinton still had a truly mighty band of "all stars" -- Jon Batiste has built something like that, a truly amazing band that brings together all the different musical elements that make up the One. At the same time, because of his own personal commitments, he's been pulling back from some of those show business situations. Best of luck to him -- can't wait till he makes it out here to Oakland/SF again -- "we are chosen to be great"
