- Pomezanian Chapter Castle - a magnificent cathedral and castle complex - extremely valuable, standing in Kwidzyn since the 14th century.
It was repeatedly stormed and destroyed. After its destruction during the Swedish wars, the south wing was turned into a food warehouse, then the castle was the seat of the court. In 1798, part of the fortress was demolished, a prison was set up in the mid-19th century, and restoration work soon began to give it a medieval appearance.
The castle dungeons, which are located under the northern, western and partly eastern wings, have been preserved to the present day. The dungeons mainly housed food storage and prison cells. The outer walls of the dungeons were provided with narrow window openings, which could also be used as shooting galleries. The dungeons were cross-vaulted and cross-ribbed. There is a unique vault, the only one in the entire castle, which is supported by two large and thick pillars.
Currently, the dungeons under the west and north wings of the castle are open to the public.
There are two temporary exhibitions: "Form, Function and Modernity", showing artistic glass from the collections of the Castle Museum in Malbork, and „Corpse burning- Tradition of Burial Rites in the Lower Vistula Basin", showing ancient methods of burying the dead.
Corpse burning was a form of burning the body on a prepared ritual funeral pyre. After burning, the ashes were placed in urns, some of which have survived to the present day.
A torture box stands in one of the basement rooms. It was used as a prop in the 1960 Polish film „Krzyżacy” (The Teutonic Knights), directed by Aleksander Ford, in the scene of Jurand of Spychowo being tortured.
Zamek Kapituły Pomezańskiej - wspaniały zespół katedralno-zamkowy - niezwykle cenny, stojący w Kwidzynie od XIV wieku.
Był on wielokrotnie szturmowany i niszczony. Po zniszczeniach w czasie wojen szwedzkich skrzydło południowe zmieniono na magazyn żywności, potem zamek był siedzibą sądu. W 1798 roku została rozebrana część warowni, w połowie XIX wieku urządzono więzienie, a wkrótce przystąpiono do prac restauracyjnych, które miały mu nadać średniowieczny wygląd.
Do dzisiejszych czasów zachowały się lochy zamkowe, które znajdują się pod skrzydłami północnym, zachodnim i częściowo wschodnim. Lochy mieściły głównie składy żywności oraz cele więzienne. Ściany zewnętrzne lochów były zaopatrzone w wąskie otwory okienne, które mogły służyć też jako strzelnice. Lochy były przesklepione krzyżowo i krzyżowo-żebrowo. Jest tu wyjątkowe sklepienie, jedyne w całym zamku, które jest podparte na dwóch wielkich i grubych filarach.
Obecnie dla zwiedzających udostępnione są piwnice pod zachodnim i północnym skrzydłem zamku.
Są tu dwie wystawy czasowe: „Forma Funkcja I Nowoczesność” pokazujące szkło artystyczne ze zbiorów Muzeum Zamkowego w Malborku, oraz "Ciałopalenie - tradycja obrządku w Dorzeczu Dolnej Wisły" ukazująca dawne metody pochówku zmarłych.
Ciałopalenie było to forma spalania ciała na przygotowanym obrzędowym stosie pogrzebowym. Po spaleniu prochy składano do urn, z których część przetrwała do dnia dzisiejszego.
W jednej z piwnicznych sal stoi skrzynia tortur (tzw. kabat). Została ona użyta jako rekwizyt w polskim filmie "Krzyżacy" z 1960 r. w reż. Aleksandra Forda, w scenie torturowania Juranda ze Spychowa.
