I have a 2014 wagon in Canada with 230k km on it. The turbo spool and exhaust sound when in Comfort mode going easy from still in 2nd gear sounds like a mountain moving towards you. Never gets old

The dealer put new tires, new calipers, new rotors, new pads, and did a service B all as part of the deal. They struggle to move it for almost 2 month because for one they are located about 2 hours drive from Toronto and also because of the miles the car has. But the car has just 1 previous owner and full service history at mercedes for the entire 205k km. I am pretty sure it was all highway. Since I got the car there had been 2 misfire issue. First I resolved by changing coils and plugs myself. Second I think it might have something to do with the Mobil1 0w40 oil. Went away after switching to Castrol. I also changed diff fluid and trans fluid myself. The car has been flawless aside from occational interior creaks and rattles that I will need to address when I have time.

I plan to keep it for at least another 3 years or more. I think for a special car like this it will have a higher "absolute bottom". Coming from 5+ years TCO point of view, depreciation is not that significant (annual: 5k gas, 2.5k insurance, 1k wear and maintenance, 3k depreciation, 2k opportunity cost if to invest with 50k). Regarding reliability, I have a friend who owned a S63 with the same engine. He tuned the car for 1000NM and drove 20000km after that with no issue. So for a complete stock car I felt confident that it would give me relatively trouble free experience, which has been the case for the past 2yr/25k km.

Im 18 so I hope by the time I have enough money. I can still purchase a used older car and enjoy it before the bans and restrictions start coming in

Better built than w213. Get a taxi and pull the door handle...shut the door...everything was just better made. They are cutting costs, w213 looks really great but is not as sturdy as previous w211 and w212. BMW and Audi are far better nowadays on fit.

Now this E63 or even your E55 aren't classic yet but the sound is going to miss so much in the future...yeah in the 2030s I would review just cars from this era (prior this moment) when 8 cylinder combustion engines were still a thing.

@10:29. This is what I like about these cars. I like when I have to park in an underground car park it's almost like thunder and that is with a standard exhaust. You don't really need the extra decibels, (which frankly would annoy me after a while).

I wish I got an estate but couldn't find an s version. I got an ipe exhaust and the turbo whistle is fantastic. I have to say the power difference with valves open and closed is huge. Stock engine valves open around 640hp. Valves closed around 570hp only so im obliged to drive with valves open. Mine is rwd, so is slow but the AWD ones do 0 to 60 in 3.4 secs , they're really fast Also the estate always sounds better . I had a c63s estate and it sounded much better than the saloons i drove at mb world
Had the same issue with the bonnet „error“ on mine. It‘s a design error which is caused by too much air being trapped underneath the bonnet and pushing it up against the latch.
