For the record, this video was not made by me, it was made by a friend called MabinimusRatcliffe, who wanted me to voice Starscream. Thundercracker and Skywarp are voiced by him.

there's a brown and cream splattered one on his hand when Starscream explains why cats are better
then there's a black one on his shoulder when he and Thundercracker yell the name of their preferred animal at each other
and then a white one sits on his head when they fetch Skywarp to judge
and in the panel when Skywarp unleashes his cute bees at them a cat with black and white spots is seen jumping off of him
also Thundercracker canonically has a dog named Buster (in IDW I think) and Starscream has canonically owned a cat named 'Meowgatron' (I don't know where it's from, I'm pretty sure from a comic and maybe it's also IDW, but I remember seeing a Starscream toy packaged with a cat that you could attach to him)

I hear this debate all the time and it’s just the wrong question. What’s the best pet for specific people?
For example, People who exercise and are active a lot might want a fast active dog. Where as people who are more laid back and chill might like a small cat.

actually he canonically loves elephants (and if you're thinking about Laserbeak well Soundwave has owned more animals than just Laserbeak. like Ravage or Ratbat or who else I'm forgetting because Soundwave has worked with hundreds of minicons. I mean, they're giant robots made of metal so they're not going to hurt him. the only problems I can think of are if they get into his wiring (and he might not even have wiring depending on what continuity he's in) and damage something (the reason that computer bugs are called bugs is because the first recorded computer bug happened when a moth got stuck in a satellite computer) or get squished in his joints somewhere and he can't get them out
