  • After yesterday’s deadline passed without Dak and the Cowboys agreeing on a long-term deal, his older brother Tad Prescott tweeted, “there is a reason I was never a Dallas Cowboys fan growing up or before they drafted Dak and after today, who knows how much longer I’ll be cheering for them.” And according to Jane Slater, Dak wanted to get a deal done at the last minute, but it was just too late and they ran out of time. The new contract would have reportedly paid Dak between 33 and 35 million annually with 110 million guaranteed. Hear what Skip Bayless & Shannon Sharpe have to say about the two sides not being able to come to an agreement.

      @@jamesross4779 Tony Romo actually has won 1 more playoff game than Dak and the difference was look at the teams Tony had no one around him when he first came to Dallas and he still managed to win games even with all the revolving things around him and the only reliable people he had were Witten Austin TO for a season and that's it look at Dak has a great defense and arguably one of the best trios in the NFL and he can't even manage to get to the playoffs and he's only won one game where he beat the Seahawks and then didn't play that great against the Rams nor the Packers and he's been to the playoffs twice out of 4 seasons and he's dropped off since his first season when nobody knew how to play him, and he's trying to ask for more money than Carson Wentz and Russell Wilson who has both done more with less than him, plus Romo was more box-office than him in terms of ratings and he was at least consistent

      @@adityag485 how many years did it take for Romo to win 2 playoff games? He was a starter for 4 years when he finally won his first playoff game. then it took another 5 years and 3 8-8 seasons before he won his 2nd playoff game. Personally I believe that Romo and to an extent Dak era Cowboys teams have both been wasted with Jason Garrett at the helm. He has never been able to take a team and be a force multiplier as the coach.

Jerry made Romo the highest paid QB with less accomplishments and with more years played. How can you not pay Dak? Was K. Cousins worth all that money he got? How about B. Bortels? Oh, I know, M. Stafford, he was worth it. It's a joke. Russell Wilson and Patrick Mahomes are the only ones truly worth the bread. A. Rodgers, D. Brees and a few others come close to being worth it. Everyone else who's a QB still gets over paid, so why not Dak? Even some backups get over paid. Chase Daniel to name one. And don't get me started with Sam Bradford, the highest paid bum ever!!!!!!

    If Dak won the weak NFC East last year, he would have been able to dictate the terms. When he failed to win that weak division with Pro Bowlers surrounding him, Jerry Jones said "We will give you another year to prove you are "the guy". Until then, we will give you the franchise tag. Either that or you accept the deal under our terms". It is a win-win move for Jerry Jones. If Dak leads them somewhere next year, then Dak proves he is "the guy" and has earned the right to dictate the terms. I don't think Jerry Jones would hesitate to allow Dak to dictate the terms if Dak actually proves he is worth it. If Dak fails again, then Jerry Jones can walk away and sign a new QB in 2021. There should be 7-8 QBs that will be available in 2021, and only 3-4 teams looking for a QB. The supply will surpass the demand, and Jerry Jones will be able to have the luxury of choice and will probably get a equal QB to Dak for much cheaper. Cheer up Skip. Jerry Jones won this negotiation. He didn't allow a mediocre QB to put a gun to his head and cripple his franchise.

      If we’re honest the cowboys are running with Zeke not Dak. The fact they lost to practice squad eagles really shows the difference between the QB’s. Dak Prescott is average at best but the best part of the cowboys is the running back. Amari Cooper is incredibly inconsistent even with Dak making him good because on the road he’s gone. I’m more impressed of Eagles in playoffs past 3 years in comparison to Dak’s 2016, 2018 entries.

    Jerry and Stephen Jones just don't believe in Dak. It's just that simple. If they believed he was a true franchise quarterback, they would have paid him a year ago. I am with Jerry and Stephen. Dak has NEVER been that good in my opinion. He just doesn't give me any sense of confidence as a Cowboy fan. I always felt that if we were to fall behind he could not lead us back to victory. He's just not a great thrower of the football. Say what you will about Tony Romo, there was rarely a time that I felt like he couldn't bring the Cowboys back from a large deficit.

    • @redstone5149
      @redstone5149 Před 3 lety +2

      Yet Tony Romo never took the Cowboys anywhere. Plus, he stayed injured. In 4 years Dak was rookie of the year, made two pro bowls and passed for nearly 5,000 yds. If you factor in yardage from dropped passes he would have thrown for over 5,400 yards last season. The Dallas receiving corps had the most drops of any team in the league. Yet you don’t have confidence that he is a good thrower of the ball? That’s a very odd opinion to have given all stats and facts support Dak being one of the best passers in the league.

    Dak is on the tag for his last chance ( as a Cowboy ) to win a Championship ....if he can't win a SB with this team, he's never going to win one ..! The less you pay the QB the more you have for the rest of the team ...Dak..!

      @@peterfrknpan6674 it's actually Shannon Sharpe that's hyping him up even though throughout the whole season he was giving dak letter grades of D,C and Fs. I'm not a big fan of skips but hes the one talking since in not wanting to over pay Dak.

      @@ggsacomani2188 Yea, and their reasoning behind wanting Dak to paid more is cause Goff n Wentz got paid big bucks. Even tho those deals look bad now.

      It's good business he gets 32 and 38 on the tag this year and next so that's 70 mil guaranteed next 2 years but cowboys want him to sign a 5 yr contract with 80 guaranteed which makes no sense for him

    Its crazy how everyone seems to forget how rocky Dak and Jerry Jones' relationship was in the beginning. When Romo went down, it took them winning 11 straight for Jerry to finally give Dak props. And even then, Jerry still was hung up on Romo.
