Very well explained. I just got my 20mm f/1.4 and I could not have used better words to explain its benefits. Thank you.

almost bought this lens today!I would have loved to shoot video with it but there is no nd filter thead in front of the lens!so everything shot in daylight would be blown out at 1.4!

I'm thinking of using it for filmmaking on a GH5 with a speedbooster. It should be equivalent to a 28 mm or so,

thanks for your review- can you retain the autofocus of the lens with your Sony and if so how as I thought the Sigma lens is built only for Nikon and Canon..? thanks!

Autofocus works great with a Metabones adapter. Probably also works with a Sigma MC11 adapter.

I rented this lens but found the Nikon 20mm 1.8g to be the better of the 2. But it is a great lens. With the Nikon I'm able to mount my Polarizers/ND filters... Great review though

I just sold mine, ill probably buy the 14mm f1.8 ART as i love shooting astro as much as i can.
But this 20mm just blew me away when i took it to iceland.
When i kept it bellow diffraction limits it was sharp all the way, at ALL apertures.
Ill miss it, but im gonna love that extra wide angle!
    BTW
    What happened to you wrist??

Yeah this is a stellar lens, but I sold mine because it was so big and heavy. I had an accident in the sauna where I was too lazy to use the wooden spoon to put water on the heating element, and a puff of steam fried my wrist :(

What Sony camera you used for night shots ? Is it the A7S mark 2 ?

+Vincent Nguyen I used the normal Sony A7. It has a good sensor for low light.

Try "Venus Laowa 15mm f/4 Wide Angle 1:1 Macro Lens" and you won't be disappointed!
