Hi Chris, thank you very much for the fast reviews of both of Sigmas new lenses. Dont ever feel your reviews are boring and repetitive. They are! But in the best possible way! Thats the ONLY way for us consumers to get an idea how lenses are - if you can’t compare the, side by side. Speaking of side by side: Which is better for astro: Sigma 20mm DGDN or Sony 20mm G?

After months of looking at many different lenses in the 17-21mm range, I finally decided to order the Sigma 20mm f/2. Two hours before it was delivered I first heard rumors of this lens coming soon. Fortunately, I've been very happy with the f/2 so far, and I'm resisting the temptation to buy this. The Voightländer seems to be a touch sharper and likely has less loca. But the Sigma lens has autofocus and pretty fast one as well which could absolutely be helpful for portraits. it is going to be much more valuable for a lot of people, especially since the Sigma is likely going to cost less than the Voigtländer.

I use on Z7II as well for astro mostly. I like how it performs. At non infinity distances, this lens has field curvature or is less sharp in the corners but it's sharp where it counts at infinity for me. Even at 1.4 the sharpness across frame is acceptable for printing big tbh.

Tried the 20/1.8 and my copy was less than impressive so I returned it. I planned on trying another copy for the upcoming Aurora season. Think I'll pre order one of these instead. Cheers!
