- 4 different ways of fixing the rendering freeze in sony vegas where it gets stuck on a certain number and won't render. These fixes should work for most people with sony vegas pro 10/11/12 and 13 which is the one I'm using. Rendering problem with freezing is a bug that can easily be fixed and this is a part 2 or part 1 from (sony vegas pro 13 how to fix render freeze / stuck.

(This should be pinned to help others) The best way to fix this freezing problem is head over to the part where it freezes, split it and render it by itself, then, delete the clip and insert the rendered clip, then render the whole project!

it does work but then 30 frames later it freezes up again i am on my 30th failed render of the video none of the things in the video have worked and I've split the frame about 20 times i just want to fucking die

Yea, it seems to be the only way to fix it after trying all your solutions, nothing prevailed. Had to do the same thing once before but several times of splitting, rendering, splitting rendering, and so on until I got to the end. Also it leaves a noticeable sound mute blip in the finished product at the split points.
My problem is like, the render time is on 00:00, but it keeps rendering and its like still 27% but the aproxxit time says 00:00... BRUH

FOUND A FIFTH FIX THAT WORKED FOR ME:
in the "customize template" section after you select "render as", there's an option called "allow source to adjust frame rate". Tick that box and it might render out smooth for you.

Thanks for the suggestions! What might help as well is to clean the prerendered vid (tools > clean up prerendered video), in case SV randomly starts to crash over and over again when previewing.

Sometimes it freezes at 17%, and when it doesn't, it will always freeze at 21%.
Sony Vegas is an awesome software for video editing. But god does it suck when it comes to rendering...
I fixed it, a part of the video was too loud and that was making the rendering crash for some reason.

Thank you so much, I was getting extremely tired of having to force close it and redo some work.
I know this is probably late, but if your rendering stops at a specific percentage, you have to go to the part of the video where it crashes, and lower the volume of that sfx (sound effect or song), and re-render it. It worked for me ;)

Unfortunately not those works for me, I realize that Sony Vegas does not like a "pitch effect" in the "main volume box" on the far left for each row. once I took the effect off, I just put the "pitch effects" in the individual boxes on the rows i wanted them in and it worked fine.
I had audioclip which made the render stuck at 54%. After removing the audio clip the render completed like it should. Good software!

Tried your first import method, and it worked. The tried it again and it fails. Disabled multicore rendering and now it is working again. If it stops working again i’ll try your other methods.
Strangely enough, all cores are at 100% in task manager.
Hopefully this is the last issue i’ll Have with rendering

I have an issue with the video after it has been rendered. I have used the pan/crop tool to zoom in. In the preview, it works fine. In the rendered clip, it is like the pan/crop hasn't been used. Other parts of the video are fine, it's just that clip. Can anyone help?

on method 3 - I have tried them all- it just had a black screen for the video it was 0:10 long..? help
Try a different format, change the settings or try running vegas as admin

I'm currently having a problem where the video will stop at a certain frame (4,704).
I've tried all of the things in this video, and none of them work. I've tried splitting the video into two, rendering both, but the second clip didn't render.
I've tried rendering in tons of different formats, but none of them seem to work at all.
I need help desperately, because I need to make a video urgently for a School Project which is due next week.
I'm using Sony Vegas Pro 15 if that helps, and these are my computer specs:
Intel Core i3 6100
8GB Ram, DDR4
Geforce GTX 1050 Ti
Gigabyte H110m-S2H motherboard

All I can think of is reinstalling vegas or just test your computer before reinstalling by rendering with another program. You could try and use your GPU instead of your processor since your graphics card is much better. Also when your testing the rendering you could use HW Monitor program to see the temps and make sure nothing is overheating, I can't really say much because I don't know if it's your computer or the program

I found a temporary fix (deleting the videos that start at frame 7,404).

Also, I’ve just tried reinstalling Vegas, doesn’t help.

My problem is it renders normally and than when it gets to the part where there is multiple clips it freezes and the time keeps on going higher and higher to the point where it says 9 hrs
It works but it Renders in .m2ts, not mp4, how do I change the format or, how I fix it if it doesn't get converted?

Nothing of your solutions is working :( I'm running Vegas Pro 17 on Windows 10 and in Custom Settings 'm not able to find the selection possibility for Encode mode..

Nothing worked. Things like this make me really want to switch to adobe. So sick of the random crashes, had to put up with it for like a year now. It's pissing me off.
This may only be happening with 32-bit floating point turned on in preferences, which is not a setting anyone using vegas 13 will probably ever need to worry about unless you really want to use one of the alternative color profile, which can actually make your images look worse in most cases. It's not like you are missing out on some hidden pixels in your images unless you have raw 4k 10-bit camera footage or something that is like 20gb per 10 min

Vegas 15 + Windows 7 true love,im now on windows 10 with vegas 17 and have these stupid isues and i use to upload so mucho stuff to our channel and this shit is making me angry sometimes,i solved some freezes with some solutions by myself but others always need to be there haha.
how can i fix the problem when the rendering is between 1 to 99 hours long?
my problem is, its stuck on 7%, and i hit cancel, but it just says "render cancelled by user" help!

Hi, I have Vegas 15 and edited a really nice video. When I render the video, it freezes at 45% and Ive tried to fix the problem. Already looked at 5-6 videos and non helped. I tried all 5 methods. None worked for me. The inner dialog boxes are different than what is shown in the videos. I was, however able to render my project using "real time rendering" It loaded 100% . I put it in wmv format. Now I dunno where the rendered video is! Can't find it! Please advise
The normal save location should be in your C drive or in your documents folder, I don't know other ways or fixing it or what exactly is causing your problem. What you could do is change the save location or reinstall vegas because maybe the files aren't working properly and reinstalling the files might fix it but im not 100% sure because I've not had your problem. And if everything I said didn't do anything you could try and look on forums or other videos on CZcams. Anyway good luck and I hope you fix it and once again sorry that I can't help you fix it with my advise / video

That's true it is an over priced product because of all the bugs and crashes but you should try and contact them to discuss this issue. It might be your computer or something else that you've not looked at or thought of
a lot of people have a pirated version of it so they don't have to worry about the price tag

I know that feeling and its not nice. Do you use resample check to see if your clip has it enabled or recheck your render settings

mine is the approximate time moves along with the elapsed time but the render percentage is 0% Forever
Same issue with me on pro 17.... Honestly so done with it...
My issue is that it says it's 100% rendered but (I have close this dialog box when rendering completed on) it doesn't finish. It has an approximate time left of 0:00 and the elapsed time keeps going up
I know exactly what you mean, I had it before and it's annoying. I just kept trying to fix it and im not sure if it was the loop region or turning the video preview off. Or even turn your pc / laptop off then give it some time to cool down then try again after. Sometimes it does finishing processing it but yeh just try to find out what it might be

Does it work if you render a different video or cut small bits out your current project?
The annoying part is I have to wait more than 30 minutes to find out if each method worked or not and if it doesn’t I have to go to task manager and close it from there because when it stops at a percentage it won’t let me cancel it no matter what I do

I found a fix that worked for me because nobody's videos worked. If you have a clip or anything that is really loud turn it down because it fixed it for me for some reason It would crash if something is loud

None of these worked for me, but try rendering in MPEG-2 1080p. It'll render. Then re-render the MPEG one in the desired format using levels and stuff to retain the quality.

This freezing shot was pissing me off could not even render a video i think the first one helped but what helped me before was "selectively prerendering" the video helped but not anymore it does not you can try its under tools

If none of the methods work --- What i did is render as AVI and converted it to mp4... Worked for me!

Guys, if all else fails, simply see where the rendering freezes. If there is a transition or subtitle or any effect there, try changing it or removing it completely. It helps.

Sony vegas pro 14 is basically the same program but with more updates and "fixes". These methods in the video should be the same for vegas pro 14. But I could look into it more and see if there's anything else I could mention that might fix it

Try running sony vegas as admin and if you can open the 64bit version or if all these didn't work then a re-installation might fix it because some files may not be working properly or are missing
