- Join us for the second episode of our "Complete AMP1 Course" during our test weeks, where Thomas will answer all your questions about sound and demonstrate your tone requests. To keep everything running smoothly, Thomas will be joined by Valeska, who will monitor the chat and prepare your live questions for Thomas to address.

• Trainwreck from clean to mean by using the volume control on the guitar
• Dumble-like tone with deep mids
Thomas will also demonstrate the different sound characters of the AMP1 Mercury and Iridium editions, comparing the individual channels-CLEAN, VINTAGE, CLASSIC, and MODERN-of both models side by side. We have prepared sounds of famous artists using AMP1, including George Benson, AC/DC, Metallica, Eric Clapton’s Cream sound, Dickey Betts, Annihilator, Pantera, Jimmy Page, Santana, Yngwie Malmsteen, Gary Moore, and SRV.
We invite all amp enthusiasts, AMP1 users, and new testers to see how Thomas will dial in your tone requests. He will share his strategies for getting these tones from the AMP1, many of which can also be applied to other amplifiers with similar features.
Thomas will provide numerous ideas on how to enhance your tone using the AMP1’s features and offer advice on using additional pedals if essential for specific tones.

Thomas, thank-you for replicating the tones on the Amp 1 Iridium as well. There’s not enough Iridium content that captures the non metal side of the Iridium. It really gives me all the sounds I’ve heard in my head and wished I could get. Can’t say enough how happy I am with my Iridium.
You are right… ! Thanks for reminding me!!!! I’m personally torn towards to mercury too much since I’m giging with it….(being “my amp”).
But by playing the iridium myself I always get some great sound and ideas…😊

Thanks Thomas for your TrainWreck Setting and the reference to Episode 178. Of course Kens original Trainwreck Ladies are very expensive. I build a clone called Thrifty Wreck based on russian tubes and like the character of those amps, they are killer 😂
I would like to play an original Trainwreck, just to see if there’s even more magic then with the clone I played. I’m sure there’s a still some little magic, but I think I understood his design and the recipe how to use it. Actually not far from what I personally like….
Using the volume on the guitar is key to what I do, I depend on it totally …

@@BluGuitar hi Thomas. We've had numerous messages together both here on CZcams and on the Facebook pages over the last 5 years or so. I'm glad I got John to take the amp 1 with him last time we met and I'm glad he's given it a good try and has enjoyed using it. Also glad I posted the videos he made to the Facebook group so that you ended up seeing them
Thanks for the tip about Jimmy Page. The film was remastered and it sounds brighter. I have the original, is not much bright.
Of corse I can’t go to deep without having the real amps side by side to an AMP1, but I’m sure with my comments you’ll get in the ballpark…
@@BluGuitar I added an eq pedal to finetune the tone, is very close.
I've heard many Amp 1 demonstrations on the internet. If I ever get a place of my own where I can play without headphones, I'll own a Mercury version. I have the cabinet selected too.
How did your guitars get so dirty? Every time I put my guitar into the case it gets wiped clean. Perhaps your guitars are always on their stands and never get wiped.
Your engineering skills are greatly appreciated. You are probably the greatest amp engineer ever; because you have created something that can make all of the great sounds and unique sounds too. If you live long enough you'll be as legendary as Leo Fender.
I sweat a lot when I play. After the encore I always put my guitar(s) in my gigbag as first thing…
Then I take care of fans and guests-no time for cleaning…
So I put them in the car and when I take it out of the gig bag the next day, they are dry again with all the dirt…
Repeat almost every weekend …😂

I think I´m the only one who owns an Amp 1 in my country. I bought it from sweetwater 4 yeras ago. Every guitar player here are very impressed with this amp. Right now there are two of them buying Amp 1 mercury.
