You'll probably never see this comment but I wanted to thank you.
I've been struggling with so much anxiety and depression the last few months and now with the state the world is in I've been feeling so close to bursting into tears at any given minute, but could never actually let myself cry.
You helped me finally release all these emotions that have been building up and finally be able to cry.
This song was so beautiful and I am so incredibly grateful. It was exactly what I needed.
Again,
_thank you_
I go through a lot of comments!
That sounds like hell. I'm really sorry. :(
I've been down that road, too. Eventually I decided enough is enough. I sought help and my life has been so much better. Some problems are behavioral, some psychological, some neurological. Please don't wait to give yourself the love and attention you sorely need and deserve. Life can be a soul destroying monster but all things come and go, and you will be in the light again soon. It's too short to be lying in bed all day loathing your existence, and yes there are solutions. Thanks for sharing this with me Bryndis. I'm honored this helped you and I know you're going to be just fine. Think of today and put one foot in front of the other. Nobody has ever seen tomorrow.
Same here, with all this uncertainty nowadays it was good to finally let those bottled up emotions out and just know that my wife and daughter love me unconditionally. Your music is really inspiring and helpful, thanks Pogo!
Listen to me. I need you to hang on because you're gonna make it through this tough time. We all will!!
Things always get better. Although convincing yourself of this sometimes is the most difficult part.

Cute fact: the french voices of Homer and Marge are married. They met on this show's dubbing

@@MovieMan-ny9vb weird but okay
Same goes for Marge.
Well cannonically Homer had a beautiful singing voice as a child, until puberty hit him hard while he was in the middle of singing in his church choir. Sadly that was pretty much one of the only good things Homer's father saw in his son.
@@ZootWorld1 That and his former gymnastics skills
I miss when Homer was loveable.
Sure he's always been slow-witted, but not only did the original Homer have flashes of intellect, he had a big heart. He _cared_ in a way none if the other Springfield men did. You could understand why Marge stuck with him.
You're right. in the early seasons it was emotional and funny, I watched the first episode of one of the newest seasons, first sentence had F*ck in it. (Censored to not get f*cked in the butt by CZcams)
He also strangled his son on a regular basis, but I get what you’re going for.
In the new episodes he disowned his son. Explain that to me.
@@lilsmuggles7245 barts been disowned a handful of times and homer and bart have always had a "love but hate" relationship in fact theres serval episodes pre season 8 that have homer either flat out hating/trying to kill bart OR bart hating/trying to kill homer they also had plenty of cases where curse words would be censored out by sound effects/cutaways during the early seasons theres even an entire episode based around a swear jar where the entire family ends up cursing in one way or another....u wanna hate the new seasons go ahead but dont use hypocritical reasons

Understood, thank you. I just have a hard time enjoying the new episodes when they're kind of annoying to me. I guess I've just had a bad view of the show when Matt Groening and Conan O Brian stopped working on the show.

@@tamisweetie its from an early season. Look up "do it for her" and the episode name should come up
Ah yes, back when the simpsons were actual characters, with emotional moments and growth.
My dad raised me and my brothers and did the best he could. Most nights he just would make us "beans and weanies" because that's all we could afford but we would sit down and watch the Simpson's while we ate and all 3 of us couldn't have asked for anything more. Love you pops. Early Simpson's always gets me feeling nostalgic.
Slowbro Or they could have just stopped making the show...while it was still original.
@Slowbro They can make consistently good show if they still commit to how they run the Simpsons back then. The writer for the show used to consist of a large group of talented writers and comedians working together to make interesting episodes. Now it's only a smaller pool of writers and I can see many of them are exhausted.
Still do

Oh shit 666 likes gotta change that
I miss this version of Marge and Homer's relationship, the early seasons are always the best because they seemed to have more emotional aspects than relevant references during those times. Now i see more current episodes were their marriage is one step away from divorce because of Homer's selfishness or stupidity, and marge trying to find any reasons to stay together for love. I miss the old days
There relationship now reminds me of family guy
Family guy was made as a pseudo parody of the simpsons, where the "emotional" moments are usually undercut with mean spirited sarcasm, but there was a since of relatability in the characters with some sincerity and heart behind the nihilism. Over time, both shows lost their way, and both are worse because of it. Simpsons have warped into family guy with more nihilism and flatter characters, while family guy has become a contest to see how sadistic and shocking an episode can get.
@@theotherjared9824 in one way or another I still like the Simpsons today and from the past even though there magic is slowly going away I still like that they don't keep on doing the same thing over and over again for
Family guy:
Cut aways that sometimes are too long
Always peter doing something stupid(which most of the episodes are about)
Stupidity is pretty funny
Simpsons:
Cool coach gags(as in different types like references from movies or TV shows)
The characters despite them now are still the same
And also donuts
That's why I like the Simpsons
Yea
It’s a lot funnier now I’m 11 seasons in and it’s bloody hilarious, at the. Start it wasn’t as funny also it was basically just base don Bart no one else
It's important to remember, that for even a guy like Homer who seems like nothing but a screw-up, marge loves him so much. People need to be told they mean something, and no matter how little you think you mean, no matter how much you may think you screw up, there are so many people who see everything to love about you. There's so much tallent in ourselves we don't see.
I wish this were true.

Seriously, this isn't a case of nostalgia. Older Simpsons had so much heart.
I've been watching the first few seasons recently, can confirm
But that's what nostalgia is about. ( A deep wound that won't heal ) Nostalgia isn't always about "What I got stuck with" it's about things that contrasts so much with today's stuff, where a certain thing just doesn't feel the same, and for a reason.
In this case, it is nostalgia because we miss those days where shows had hard work, creative scripts and soul put into them. It isn't unreasonable, it isn't crazy.
I have the first 13 seasons on DVD thats when they started going downhill about season 13.
Yea, Honestly
@@Andronicus87 I'd personally say seasons 2 to 7 were consistently the best episodes. Seasons 8 and 9 were alright, and anything past that was mixed at best.

They are, but you have tu build them. I can't say that everything is perfect, because nothing is. However, when you find the right person, and said person is willing to work everyday alongside with you, no matter what, then you'll have a beautiful relationship.
You just need a Homer in your life.

Imagine winning life. Honestly I think you win when you find someone that you're allowed to be yourself around and they love you for it. Even if you aren't good looking or smart or whatever else they still love you for you. Thats when you finally get to be happy
There are still challenges though, I hope you find that some day. If you focus on building a nice life for yourself, focus on chilling out and making yourself happy, making friends, the right person will come.
This is something I genuinely appreciated about the Simpsons. They could have genuine and sweet moments like this without ruining it with a joke.
Yeah, a lot of other adult cartoons struggle with that kind of thing a lot for some reason, feels like the writers of most if them are too afraid to do anything thougtful or genuine without having a cynical or edgy joke poorly thrown in
The saddest part was when you realized this is the best Simpsons content to be put out in years.
Goattacular seriously the Simpson’s used to be so damn good it’s unreal. I mean you casually put on an old episode and you might really learn something and get emotional.
Homer: "Bart was feeling mighty blue."
Marge: "It's a shame what school can do."
Apu: "For no reason, here's Apu."
Homer / Marge / Apu: "Those were the daaaaaaaaaaaaays!"

This song encapsulates why Pogo is such an amazing musician. He could have gone for comedy. He could have remixed the "Doh!" that we all associate with Homer, as well as several other things that encapsulate the show. But he didn't do that. Oh no, not our Nick.
He found some of the most emotional and beautiful parts of the show, and used them to encapsulate the beautiful relationship between Homer and his family. He told an incredible story that gets so often overlooked.

This is rly sweet and showcases how loving homer is of his family even though they dont showcase it in the show every episode. It also show how wonderful of a partner Marge is and that's beautiful. They are so sweet and loving and it's nice to see it
They used to. Many, maaaaany seasons ago.
In the Golden Age Of The Simpons, seasons 1-9, the show was essentially a mixture of cartoon world situations and jokes with the heart of real world drama.

SPOT ON comment.
Jordan Peterson mentions Homer being redeemed because he genuinely loves his family. Although I always hated the Bart choking segments, even if it was meant to be funny.
It's telling that Pogo hasn't used scenes from the newer seasons. The old episodes were the best.
PJMwarp the old episodes more frequently had a lot of genuine heart put into them, which seems to be what really makes the best cartoons is that they were made with love or a message or a purpose besides make money
Krumping Marge would like a word with you... Though I agree the older seasons were best, outside of a few weird little duds in the first two seasons.

The shot with Homer looking up at the star filled sky on the hood of his car is powerful man. That’s the one where his mom leaves him again if I’m not mistaken. Earlier Simpsons had soul man. It was a hilarious show first and foremost but it had a beating heart underneath it all.

Today's my dad's birthday, he would of been 60 (he tragically passed away from a massive heart attack at 54) and this video just hits home for me, I showed this to my mom. This video just reminds me of their relationship 💕 (like the older simpsons) the video is so sweet and calming and can give a few laughs with the clips at certain parts. Thank you for this wonderful video/music 🎶
This is such a comfortable and wholesome song. It gives me a really warm feeling, like everything will be alright in the end, even if it isn't right now. It feels like getting a hug from a person that means a lot to me.
I looked when Homer had more depth besides that fact that he is dumb and stupid. The old episodes made him seem like a real person. He had the relationship ship with bart always trying to be a good father to him. He had the dynamic with lisa always missing out on her stuff but only wants the best for her. Homer's dynamic with Maghue wasn't that clear but it had something to do with him not being there for her but always wanting to be. (This was a lot like the dynamic with lisa) Homer's relationship with Marge is that he feels like he is never good enough for her.
Now remember this is not an essay just a brief overview of what made the Simpsons great before they ruined it.

Youre gifted to had the opportunity of know such a beautiful soul. May rest in peace and all the prosperity and happiness for your life
This comment made me tear up, I hope you find true happiness ❤️
I believe you will find love again. But it's a wonderful thing that you keep missing your girlfriend after all those years. This is something special and it makes you a wonderful person.
Im so sorry
The thing that make us cry is the loyalty that is banishing. The values that are being ripped out of our life. Fight for these values.
One like, not surprise. Family is something is slowly disappearing. Now people are not thinking of having kids but just owning a furry cute dogs. Family is too much work and the payoff they say is not worth it. 😭
Been listening to this song almost everyday recently, so funny how a mashup of sounds from a comedy show can bring me such feels. Feels like the perfect sounds for how i've been feeling. Stuck in a moment of uncertainty, but very hopeful about my future. This song describes it better than I could ever articulate it. Thank you Pogo.
Manages to capture the spirit of the early episodes, the vibe of the current Simpson remix culture, as well as being essential Pogo music.
Well said. It’s a remix masterpiece.
I remember when this show had a heart.
That reassurance to homer is just so damn sweet
OH MY GOD I DIDNT THINK HE COULD TOP BOY AND BEAR, BUT THEN HERE THIS IS
B&B is such a great song, I couldn't think of any better to give my friends to discover pogo's work
@@florentdemeyere4779 ikr it sounds so sad and calming it's very nice indeed.... And by the way did they look at pogos work??
Right????!
@@love2laugh406 Haha I'm planning to share it with my new coworker, but right now work has been pretty busy, so I'll tell her as soon as we can take a breath. I'll try to come back to tell you ;)
@@florentdemeyere4779 ok!!! Thanks!!!!!😊😊
Me: *spends most of my childhood/early adulthood bottling up emotions*
Me in 2019: why does this Simpson's song make me tear up?
I’m still in the middle of bottling up my emotions. I’m only slightly close to tears
wtf this is so me
Seriously, when I first heard it, a wave of emotions just came flooding in.
Same. I was like 26 seconds into the song and my eyes started to get wet.
I thought I was the only one who felt choked up everytime I listen to this song. I dont know why
"I’m taking the kids"
"I never like them anyways"
"We never like you anyways"
Noooooono noo no no😥😩😭😨😩😢😥😭😖😣😭
God this is my favorite CZcams video I keep coming back
Pogo is so great, it almost transcends reality;
I think of these songs like remembering an old friend,
a passing conversation, blinking awake from a dream,
a scent of a lost relative's, a memory long forgotten...
beautiful
This is like my birthday present, thanks for sharing this type of content for free ♡
freddie reborn happy bithday for you.
Happy Birthday, my friend.
hey
Happy Bday!!!
Happy Birthday Mate
It’s kinda cute. You can honestly see that no matter what, Marge will always love Homer
Omg this is where they got the music!
You know, This somehow gives me nostalgia of something that I've never had or experienced but feel like I've been missing it for a while.
"Anemoia"
Same
A lot of Pogo's music is like this with a bittersweet, ethereal feel to it
Same here. Literally. It almost made me cry because it made me want it so badly.
This reminded me of why I loved the first 8-9 seasons; it had heart. It was about a family. Later seasons were just gimmicks.
It was more than a show.
Marge is the perfect example of how a wife should also care about her husband's feelings
that filter is nearly flawless at restoring quality to older simpsons clips. the whole thing is amazing!
it's amazing how this is directed at no-one, and yet it feels like it's directed at everyone. at everyone who's never heard caring words in critical movements in their life, or never told support when they needed it, or just the downtrodden who's never left any love in their life.
even those who's had even an amount of suppressed emotion recently or in the long term, this song just...calls to those hurt feelings, it tells you it's okay to be upset; it's okay to cry. alot of us are sadly raised in environments where expressing vulnerability is equivalent to failure. but it's not. it being human, being alive.
we all want to know we matter. and this song...it does that, without doing it.
dsgdggd
It is directed at everyone, why would it not be?
But besides that very nice comment
i couldn't have siad this any better.
Such a positive, feel-good, BANGIN' song to dance to!
