Van Cleef and Arpels Double Unboxing: Why I Purchased Onyx Pieces & How To Get Chain Extensions

- Hello, I have a double unboxing of my new Van Cleef Arpels bracelet and earring set.
These were purchased in June (before the price increase), but I just got them back after some repairs.
Sadly, I ended up returning my Magic Alhambra Bracelet because it was just too extravagant for my style (especially when layered with my guilloche) 😢 ... so after all, I ended up with these very "safe" pieces and I love them so much! I've gotten extensions on both pieces so they are not going anywhere anymore!! 😆

I would have never thought to add links to wear with one motif dangling. I was planning to shorten it but now I’ll have to consider that option too! Great video! They look amazing on you! 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you so much for a very good detailed video. You always have some surprisingly great ideas about how to make the best out of the chain length. Before having my purchase ordered, I had watched lots of your VCA videos which helped me to decide on which stone I’m gonna pick based on my everyday life (definitely the relatively durable onyx) especially for there’s no boutique store in my state. The onyx stone easily matches every outfit and stands out as well. Yellow gold and black onyx is a perfect couple of color combination.

They didn’t lengthen them, what they did is move the links locations because between each motif there are 9 links. Now you have 10-8-8-10 so they just move the links from the mid to the end.
Hi Nikki, I actually thought they added two more links to my two ends- are the original links 8 each? Now I’m mot sure what happened 😂
I love the VCA bracelets since it is multipurpose . I have one Carnelian and one Guilloch bracelets . I wear them most of time as bracelets and sometimes as necklaces. Nobody noticed even the SA in VCA . When I told them it is the bracelets they were amazed 😄they thought it is the 10 motifs necklace .
Yes exactly!! I love the versatility of VCA bracelets!! I have the exact same story with wearing them as necklaces. My SA at VCA was like oh wow! I thoughts it was the ten motif! Same at other jewelry stores. They are all amazed that they were bracelets 🤭 thank you for sharing dear💕💕

Hello Cat, thanks for watching 💕 actually onyx pieces look brand new as the first day I bought them (just got them cleaned yesterday) Everything must come off at night except for my love bracelet so not 24/7 but I do wear it almost everyday💕 hope this helps🙏
Di you have to use a VCA necklace to extend it sa a necklace. What necklace din you use? Thank you 😊
Hi Raquel, no you can use any necklace! The only advantage to using VCA necklace is that the clasp is big enough so it’s a little bit easier but otherwise you can use any necklace. One of mine is just 18 K gold chain from some Internet some online store and it works fine💕💕

Hi AG, I usually wear the 5 motif onyx bracelet (turned into a necklace) - or other gold necklaces. I usually try to "limit" my jewelry pieces so they don't overpower. 😆 THanks for watching!
Thank you for this video, I wanted to get the sweet Alhambra earrings but the posts was too tight. Now I know the posts can be extended :) May I know what is the length of the posts that you extended it to and how to do you know whether the length is just right?
Thank you so much for watching and sorry for my late response!! I don’t know the exact length but I think it’s about twice the original and to be honest it feels a little too long now🤣 so I can’t wear it to sleep or anything but I don’t mind at all.
What is your wrist size? I find a 6.5 bracelet works best but I'm not sure if I'll be able to let a motif dangle at the normal length or if it would only work with an extender.
My size is 15.5 cm and I extended my 5 motif bracelet by 2 links so I can wear it with a motif dangling! I love it cuz it also looks better when worn as a necklace. More info about that in my most recent video 😘 thanks for watching!!

If you choose to get the bracelet shortened after adjustment, do they charge? Do you get to keep extra links??
shortening the bracelet is free of charge as long as it's been only a few months within purchase (and you have an SA you worked with directly). I didn't have extra links (since I lengthened mine), but if you shorten them, I've heard they also give you the links (or just to be sure, you can ask them to include it in the shipment back from the repairs.)😘

Nice bracelets but I don't think the dangling is a good look. Looks ill-fitting and not a good look in my opinion.
I'm so sorry for my late reply. I totally understand what you mean. It doesn't always work. When I feel like the dangling charm bothers me, I can also twist the chains to shorten them - but one of these days, I might get them all shortened, if I get weary of the dangling piece. 😉
