  • From time to time people contact us with issues with their transmitter and they have very elaborate theories as to the problems. Then they ask for our help. The very first question we ask is if they have telemetry logging on? Do they have data files to help us diagnose the problem. if the answer is no we have very little to go on.
The transmitter has the ability to record an enormous amount of information about the plane and the flight. Telemetry logging is something very easy to turn on and it's extremely powerful.

Does it self overwrite if the memory gets full?
I wish I knew I could log telemetry would be nice to see, the other day I encountered a signal loss on a SR10X receiver but only for about 2 seconds. Same spot that I had an issue with spectrum and multiple other members at my club have had signal hits. I actually specifically switched to FR sky from spectrum to avoid this. Although I’m not flying on a tandem set up yet.

Hi Steve, many thanks for your interesting tutorial. I followed every steps with my X20S + Frsky telemetry and only date, time and transmitter voltage are recorded. Nothing from telemetry although I get all data on my transmitter when flying. Any clue what I'm doing wrong. Thanks

Please go to mode/telemetry and delete any sensors, then run discover new sensors.

Hi! Thank you for the Video. But its a way to Show die max. Speed of GPS Sensor directly on my x20 Monitor?

    Steve - great info.
Hey I am a glider flyer and I use telemetry all the time. One of the metrics I use is vspeed.
Before I switched over to ethos (just did that) I was used to associating a tone via a special function to have the model’s altitude changes be played back with tone pitch changes.
I don’t see any option in ethos to let me do that. I tried creating a special function and using “Value”which gives me an audio reading of the current altitude, but that is useless for continuous tracking.
Is there a any way to set up a special function using a tone for outputting vspeed in ethos?
    Thx Jorge

      Hey Jorge,
      Thanks for the props!
This sounds like a variometer. Ethos allows this, with a receiver that has a variometer. We have ones that work with ACCESS on 2.4ghz only. Or, if you would like, you could use an RB30, 30+, 35 or 40 because they have built in variometers.
      Thanks,
      -Steve

Where is the Log File Lua so i could look at the data after the flight…instead of messing around with Excel?

    • @steveschlesinger3459
      @steveschlesinger3459  Před rokem

The lua should be in Ethos version 1.5 which should be out in the next month or two.

@@steveschlesinger3459 Even data nerds (like me) find it unrealistic to use excel on a laptop to analyze data from maidens or iffy flights every time. Having this would help save planes. Jeti, opentx all have good viewers for years. Please, please, please. Also having gps plotting abilitiy would allow us to pinpoint bad vfr locations and antenna orientation, and will let frsky sell hundreds of gps sensors…as of now they aint selling a lot of them are they.
