But as a hispanic woman, and dark skinned, I have to admit that this wonderful country welcomed me with open arms, never discriminated against, always had good jobs, and I reciprocated by learning the language to the best of my ability and by working hard. What's messed up is the flight attendant knew she was being racist which is why she hauled ass out of sight when she found out she was exposed
At one point she said "you people" when addressing the woman. "you people" is almost always meant as a way of looking down on a group.

Lol this scenario has never happened once in the history of planes. You people are delusional. What does happen is entitled black people trying to sit in first class seats they haven't paid for like what just happened on American Airlines and also happened with a black congresswoman who stole a first class seat from a white woman.

The flight attendant was rude and disrespectful, she was being racist to the passenger and presumed she wasn't married to the man . She is in trouble with HR, she will be fired for such inhospitality and insubordination!! This is too much, she is out of line!!

We are an older couple and usually fly business class. I'm White but my wife is Asian Indian and is often assumed to be Latina. Invariably when she enters a business class aircraft door she is asked "are you in business class" or even just directed to the coach cabin. The never make the same mistake with me.

This kind of treatment happens to me so many times, I have lived on a street for over 20 years where I was the only multiracial family and it was hell, no one on the street talked to us, and not even the innocent children could have played together, there was a particular neighbor who was the trendsetter of evil for the nabourhood and my street, she had convinced everyone not to talk to us, but my husband of course, but not me.

Considering how blatant she was about it, I'd say there's a good chance her husband is just as racist as her and will stand by his wife due to seeing the situation as her being "persecuted for her beliefs."

@creepshow Not only I learned from the founding fathers of my nations but I also learned and I heard and read what the late great Martin Luther King said and it's my favorite quotes, and even though I respect everyone from the United States who resides in my city Dubai and they felt safer because of what they told me when I saw the news I believe them, police brutality, racially profiling, it's a good thing that my country UAE has strict laws and discrimination, Article 25 of the law states that any person commits any acts of discrimination of any form, the person will face up to 5 years in prison and/or pay the fine no less than AED 500,000 (($136,124.80)) and no more than AED 1000,000 (($272,249.75)) and that's why I respect everyone from around the world no matter what race, creed, religion or country, it's all about tolerance

I am sure the airline does not want the kind of publicity that the viral video is going to give them, and I am pretty sure that racist Karen is about to lose her job, and all her family and friends will see this! I loved when the guy recording said you might wanna look for the another job she ran away like their was a fire, classic moment, anybody has the right to be in first class and not be questioned, that flight attendant was trash. People feel sorry for flight attendants and think their job is so difficult in fact I saw flight attendants protesting the other day but in my experience some of em can be rude and cranky, I understand this is just a video and their not all like that, I'm not saying their job is easy but I feel sometimes people act like their shoveling coal in 100 degree weather and their not. Sometimes I feel they can be unwelcoming

In reality, if I were that gorgeous black woman going back to first class after that incident, I wouldn't want that vile thing serving me or anywhere near me - even if it were still her job to do so. Good acting, and unfortunately there are people like that out there...

Good storyline but it is too obvious that they are actors.
In real life flight attendants wear NAME TAGS. I wanted to see her with a name tag that said KAREN (any last name would work).
Those first class seats look like the old style first class seats American used on their older domestic fleet. Last time I saw that style of seat was on an American 757 at the end of 2012; I was in first class and we got the old one by chance due to an equipment substitution.
I definitely complain to the Headquarters & send them the video. That racists flight attendant didn't ask any one else to show their tickets!

Thanks for bringing this issue to everyone's attention. I had experienced something almost like that but little different. I am in my seventies and have balance and knee problems. Have to have wheelchair . Air Canada wheelchair guy was so mean , cruel and rude to me but i still got on flight. He told me i shouldn't travel anymore because i am too old. Other white passengers like me were treated fine. I boarded the flight but it didn't get better. I didn't have anything to drink or eat during my whole flight . That's not all the staff and Crew was so rude to me but i stayed in my seat and stayed quiet. Made it to Toronto from Vancouver. My daughters started to complain to the airline and they offered them discounts for their unfair , cruel and rude behaviour to a senior citizen. It is sad that we still have to face discrimination which can be very damaging emotionally. I still feel it.
if husband and wife came together. how did HE get a different ticket from hers? BOTH should have first class unless they met up at the airport due to job circumstances. there are cell phones, call each other to prepare for the tickets, plans should have been made well in advance between the two.

What the flight attendant did towards the female passanger was uncalled for and thanks to the fellow male passanger, who recorded everything, the flight attendant will definitely lose her job and be fired from the airline.

I have a short daughter married to a tall black man from The Deep South. They are a sight to behold because of the height difference and she’s very pale & he’s very dark. It’s fortunate that the US has lost a lot of racist attitudes in the last 20-30 years. I think there are still some racist attitudes today but it’s much better than when I was in High School 56 years ago. My high school had zero black students because where we lived there were no black families in our school district.

Your boarding pass shows the seat number you reserved when you booked your flight and has your name on it. There is also a flight manifest that shows where each passenger is sitting. End of story.

Having flown literally hundreds of flights I can guarantee you this never happened. The boarding pass has the seat number on it. That's all that matters. With E-tickets all you have is a boarding pass. You know this is fake when they show you both of them sitting in first class to begin with. He would have given her the first class boarding pass before boarding so she could board with the first class passengers and they do check your boarding pass. He would have boarded later with the coach passengers. So I'm calling this complete BS.
My main gripe with this is why the guy filming or anyone else in 1st class, didn't intervene during the altercation, too many people are happy to film but not get involved or step in as support for people in these situations

A number of years ago this happened to me on a flight from Guatemala to Miami on American Airlines. Only brown skinned person in business class and l was the only one asked to show my boarding pass to the aged, blonde flight attendant. She told.me she wanted to make sure l knew l was in the right section. I wanted to tell her a whole bunch of stuff because l knew l was profiled but l held my tongue because l decided it made no sense arguing with a racist person
If you pay for it you can. I never had a problem. With sitting in first class.

Swiching cabins are generally not permitted!! If they want to sit together in the first cass, pay 1st class fare for both seats, or upgrade both seats.

I’m sorry? It took place on a school bus in a wealthy area, and I’m in Massachusetts, not “down south”, as many would assume. Two Latin American teens were getting on a bus they normally ride home, but there was a different driver, who assumed that wasn’t their bus. There were white kids who were strictly riding to their friends’ homes and normally didn’t take that one, but they weren’t questioned. One of the girls was asked to call her parents and speak English,
or he’d assume she was lying. Incident was recorded and the driver was fired. Such attitudes and actions by workers continue even in this day and age.
