The way to heat the floor is called Ondol in Korean. This is a heating method with thousands of years of history. It's a way to make a fire and the smoke warms the floor as it passes through the smoke path under the floor. It has good thermal efficiency and warms the room as a whole.
Thank you for your valuable comments and information. I didn't know his name when I did this. I said underfloor heating tent. Later, I learned his name thanks to my valuable viewers like you. Regards and greetings...
@@lifeinnatureandbushcraft5540 not an ondol. Dakota fire pit extended.
This is so full of novel experiences for me and so full of good ideas that I rewatch it! I might add a warm place to sit where I didn't have to keep my knees bent to support my body.
Thank you very much for these kind words.
LiNB is now in the Top 5 for meal preparation. I am jealous of that meal you threw into the fire.
Thank you very much.
Good demonstration. This is an excellent idea that has actually been used for centuries but modern folks have pretty much forgotten it. My grandfather used it as a young boy on the farm during hunting season, but he only talked about it and never demonstrated how he did it. Would you consider a more detailed presentation? I would like to show it to my Hunter Education classes. Thank you.
Thank you very much. I would be very happy if you could show this in hunting lessons. If I get the opportunity, I will think about another video like this.
This is a creative idea. I like it. Thanks for sharing 👍👏👏
Thanks, it worked really well in the cold.
You introduce us to an amazing landscape: those masses of vegetation scattered around produced a fine insulating layer under your tent and over the hot rocks. This seems like a large lake that has been drained a bit, leaving access to these resources.
I'm glad you like it, thank you very much.
잘 보고 갑니다,thanks a lot.
Génial , merci
Çok güzel fikir tebrikler
Thanks
Mükemmel fikir 👏👏
Çok teşekkür ederim
🦋Wow! Incredible build! This winter I am going to do this! Thank you🦋
Thank you very much. Thank you for watching all the videos and commenting one by one without getting cold feet.
With all these great videos, I don’t think I’ll be getting cold feet anytime soon! It is wonderful to have you freely teaching how to build shelters in so many different styles. I live in Mississippi, US where our winters haven’t been nearly that cold but I have camped in Illinois during the snow season and would have benefited from this information. Now I feel like I can successfully thrive in colder climates. Thank you! I’m planning on living off the land. City life has lost all of its shine.
@@tabathacole I'm so glad my shelter ideas inspired you. Thanks again for the nice words.
I love how at 14:05 the bread is burnt! 😂… that seriously camping vibes right there! nothing is ever perfect whole camping
Thanks. Yes, the bread was a little burnt. ( i say crispy ( - : )) I also like the smell of a little burn and burn on the bread.
Looks really warm in there I like that
I'm glad you liked it. Thank you very much.
very smart! I use this system, I never carry a stove.
Thank you very much. Also, I agree with the idea that it is much better than carrying a stove.
I'm number 48 as a subscriber.
It's important for me, thanks.
This was a different kind of shelter than you have made. It was an interesting episode😊
Thanks. I like to generate different ideas.
I like your awesome idea!
Thanks.
Well done brother
Thank you very much.
Great video! Keep it up
Thank you very much. I'm going to try to continue.
Mükemmel 👍
Thanks...
Another creative work, thanks for the experience 👍 if you do measure the temperature next time, please do it with gun type meter. This way surface temperatures can be compared. I was curious all along the video. But i believe experiments shouldn't interfere with the spirit of being in the nature and camping with minimal resources 🙂
Thank you for your kind words. Yes, if I had a thermometer with me, I would measure the temperature. But believe me, I make decisions at the last moment, depending on the environment and circumstances. Everything happens at that moment. That's why I couldn't measure the temperature here either. But believe me, it got hot in there, and even the tent was sweating.
👍

👍👍👍
What are those huge slabs of roots and soil that you used for insulating the floor? Never seen anything like that standing on a rock bed /lake bed.
The slabs you see are soft bumps from soil and more grass compaction. Moist islets on the edge of a lake, possibly with water underneath. Thank you very much for the comment
🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Thanks.
this is the korean ondol!
I described it as underfloor heating. Later I heard that it was called Ondol. Thank you for your information and comments.
Çevredeki vahşi hayvanlar et kokusuna gelmemiştir inşallah. Cesaret
Evet gelme tehlikesi var . Umarım öyle bir şeyle karşılaşmam.Yorumunuz için teşekkürler.
In Korea we called this heating system is ondol. These day we use hot water pipeline under the floor. In korea every house use this heating system.
Thank you for this information. Does the water you use come from fault lines or do you heat the groundwater with any energy?
@@lifeinnatureandbushcraft5540the waterwas boiled by gas and than turn around pipeline.
@@user-ur5yj9hj8t I understand, sir, thank you very much.
Can't really know if it worked.mite help if he TALKED..LOL.maybe had a thermometer..
It really worked, and it got warm inside. But I can't say that because I don't speak in my videos. You may be right about the thermometer, but I haven't thought about it. The next time I make a video like this, I won't forget the thermometer. Thanks.
@@lifeinnatureandbushcraft5540 Thanks for this update. I wondered how things went. You still had on a puffy jacket when you got up in the morning.

It would have been nice to compare the temperature inside and outside the tent.
Yes it would be nice but I didn't have a thermometer with me. But I can say that it works very well.
