- In Episode 12 of Solo Backpacking the Philippines, I arrive in the little town of Port Barton on the East Coast of Palawan. I explored to White Beach and a waterfall by scooter on a day to myself. Also squeezed in some very relaxed yoga outside El Dorado Hostel and a lot of good food an chill time.

I’m loving this Philippines series! It’s some of your best videos
The beaches look amazing. Port Barton looks like a really chill place.
It is indeed 😊
I'm loving all your videos. I love the ocean it so calming to me!! I'm from the Dominican republic would love to meet u one day!!.😘
I'm still amazed at how many different places there are in the PI. I always thought of the PI as a small island country... But the little islands are all beautiful and look like paradise! I could see myself relaxing there for a few days in the hammock with a nice drink! I hope there are more PI videos.
Hi Christianne! As always you are a great swimmer especially when you were swimming underwater and swimming down to the bottom of deeper water! I also loved moving down to the bottom of deep water with you when you swam to the bottom! I loved seeing the waterline showing when going all the way underwater with you and coming all the way out of the water a couple times especially when you jumped in the water that one time in this video! I loved seeing the waterline showing when going all the way underwater and staying underwater for a while seeing you swim underwater and hearing the underwater sound which sounds nice to hear, and then seeing the waterline showing a couple times when coming all the way out of the water as well!🥰🐟😍🦈👍💦🐋❤️🐬💧🌊💕🐳👙
Really enjoyed the vid, relaxed, chilled music and always brilliantly edited. 🌍🌏🌎
Another amazing vlog christianne!!! God bless..
❤️❤️❤️
Amazing! So interesting...
Oh I loved it there!! It was also my first stop there 💚
Such a chill video, looks amazing! Much love❤️❤️
Definitely a great place to chill out 😍
Love your videos so happy I stumbled onto your page 🥰😍
I love these videos so much!
I love it and they way you film is just so nice thank you for sharing your journey! :D
I stayed at El dorado at this time and met you there, this video really brings back memories! I love Port Barton, such a pearl. All the best from Sweden!
Take care sweetheart..enjoy your vacation to our country.God bless..
Amazing place, enjoy
like your combination music+nature…..thumbs up
Thanks 😊
stay safe. sometimes May the start of rainy season.
Super! 😁 ...almost 8 Billion people in the world and it's still possible to find a little piece of paradise to call your own. If only for a short while... Heart rate suitably slowed by yet another bananariffic video, good luck in finding some peace in El Nido to bring to us... and if that fails, we'll settle for the yellow swimsuit! 😉 😁 😚
Wow I’m a Filipino but i haven’t been there. Great content very inspirational for a newbie you tuber like me.. beautiful place will definitely visit there one day. I’m leaving you love..
I still found el nido chilled, I stayed at outpost which was lovely and the atmosphere during the day is deffo chilled even the day tours to the beach are. And the boat tour was aaahhhmazing they played some drinking games which was great fun but again all in all pretty chilled. The hostel drinking nights weren’t too crazy either I would say compared to some.
Wow beautiful 😍 Beach
Love this place.
It's so lovely to see these video's. I'm going there in 3 weeks and visit almost every place you have been. So doing a lil bit of inspiration and getting ready for all the beauty...Enjoy the rest of your trip
Woo you'll have the best time! 🙌🏼😁
hello mink, i think rainy season in the Philippines will start on that period, anyway. just make a good plan and you'll enjoy it!
@@nicodemuslao9866 hi there, yes i'm aware. Starting in palawan, then cebu and end in siarigao. That way its the least chance of the rain bothering me i read. And the asian rain season isnt as bad as the weather i am used to in the netherlands;)
your videos are so motivating. like i just wanna pack my bags and jump on a plane right now
Yay!! That's exactly how I wanna make you feel 😍🙌🏼🌴
You definitely missed the spot of Port Barton. So much good times I had there.. explorations nearby islands are a must!
Wow babe you're so brave to travel alone here in the PH and I salute you for that! I hope we'll meet someday..thanks for your vlog. It's so useful. I'll make some tour of San Vicente - Port Barton on December..
Hi good morning too... enjoy 😗🤗
71K! Subrscribers!! Congrats!!!
I agree with Ratgirl, you are brave and charming, you do lovely work, thank you so much
Fun fact: since you made the Central American comparison, coconuts are actually _not_ native to the Americas. The ones in the Caribbean were introduced by the Portuguese from India. While the ones in the Pacific coast of the Americas (especially in Mexico) were introduced by the Spanish... from the Philippines. \o/ So next time you see a coconut in Acapulco or something, know that its great great great great grandparent once grew on Philippine shores.
That's crazy! How'd ya know that? 😅 Makes sense as to why I thought they look the same thenn
@28-Day Keto Challenge are you serious? PH is home to 52,177 described species and over half of them are endemic including 1510 threatened plant species 😅😅
@28-Day Keto Challenge I have no idea what you are talking about. I've never heard NatGeo say anything like that. Like clementdula said, there are tons of endemic species in the Philippines. From orchids to trees.
Neither did I say, coconuts were endemic to the Philippines. They're native to tropical Asia _including_ the Philippines, but they are not exclusive to the Philippines.
I just said that before the colonial period, there were no coconuts in the Americas. And that the coconuts there now (in the Pacific coast) came from the Philippines.
@@BackpackingBananas Just an unhealthy obsession with science and history.
Coconuts were carried by Europeans to Americas during the colonial period. In exchange, the Americas gave us Old Worlders corn, chilis, potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, eggplants, pineapples, various fruit trees, and so on.
Speaking of which, bananas are also not native to the Americas. As well as citruses (including oranges and lemons). Both came from Southeast Asia.
Kinda weird imagining the Caribbean and tropical America without bananas and coconuts, isn't it? :P But that was the landscape of American beaches just a few centuries ago.
@28-Day Keto Challenge How come if THE PHILIPPINES is one of the mega bio diverse country from land to sea?
My favorite town I've ever been to
I didn’t manage to visit Port Barton when I was living in Palawan but looking super nice! Definitely going there next time ☺️💕
I think it was my fave spot in Palawan 😊
Thank you for an awesome idea! Taking photo of an item you are renting is such a clever way to avoid a future trouble. People should do that in indonesia as some of my mates who visited bali got scammed by renting a scooter and when they return it to the owner they were put under pressure and interrogated over small scratch which was already in the scooter before they even rent it.
Pleasure 😊 yep I always hear of the scams which is exactly what I try to avoid 😅
Wow...
Philippines is really like a place where beautiful and paradise beaches are readily made available, they are all over the Philippines.
great videos and killer beaches will be there in Dec. Peace
If you reach a fork on the road, take the one less traveled by. That'll make all the difference. 📝😉
I have been to Puerto princesa and travelled to El nido twice but i didn't been to Port Barton which is located in between them. It looks a beautiful spot as well.
Deffo worth the stop off next time 😊
Love you take care always
I visited Palawan just weeks ago, I was in Puerto Princesa, El Nido and Coron. Should have visited Port Barton as well. Filipino travel vlogger here btw.
Love this, such a nice video! :) Really enjoyed watching it and wish you recorded the plankton video at night, that would be amazing! We are looking to go to Philippines next year :)
Would've been so cool to record the plankton! But from what I've heard, they don't even show up on camera! Just something you'll have to do when you get here next year 😉
Great vlog. I walked to both attractions on 2 different days so you did a lot on 1 day. Port Barton is great for a couple of days.
The island hopping was awesome and best food ever.
As for the partying where does it end up after Coco Rico? Cos all the bars close at 12 and the place is very dark. .
LOVE LOVE LOVE YA.
❤️❤️❤️
The waterfall was nearly as beautiful as you. Nearly!
Palawan and so many parts of the Phillipines looks amazing, although the travel warnings are all too familiar: “ be very careful in the Phillipines “
Fake News - Philippines is safe.
🤩🤩🤩
😍😍😍
Around El Nido, the more quiet destinations include Las Cabanas and Lio Beaches. Further north, Nacpan beach is very nice. But be careful about the tap water and ice in El Nido town, as people have gotten sick there.
Lio Beach my fave
Port Barton is very laid back compared to El Nido. I loved staying there.
i would love to do a backpack trip with you as it would be my first time but i need to start somewhere, lol you seem really chill, well i hope you enjoy your next adventure. Cheers!
Exactly everyone must start somewhere 😊 you will smash it I'm sure 🙌🏼
That morning philippine sun though
Where do you leave your personal belongings while you're in the ocean and you're at the beach alone??
I don't know what Christianne does but I just leave them with my towel rolled up on the beach. if I came on a moped I will leave valubles in the seat compartment. most people in this world are good you would have to be very unlucky to be robbed. x
What do u do with your phone and or camera when u go swimming on Ur own like at the water fall's ?
😍😍😍😍😍😍
that waterfall will look better in Instagram since you can do whatever shots you like because it aint crowded.
Hi, did you used an eSIM for your mobile? Which one is good for Port Barton? Ciao Fabio 😊
Also would you consider doing a video on the aeroplane side of things? I get so anxious before flights and I’m gonna be taking 3 to get to Indonesia!😆 would be cool to see your process etc?

@@BackpackingBananas Rock on,,,
hey, what's up ??? I really thought you've already left my country, but if you still there then continue traveling, though ...... good luck ...... mabuhay !!!!!!!!
I'm not there anymore unfortunately but still have more videos to post!
How do keep a lot of battery life in your gadgets while traveling? What cameras are you using?
Planning a trip to Bangkok alone and thought I'd look at some travel vlogs for ideas. Now I'm in love with a banana that doesn't have a clue who I am
sweet
Sorry if you’ve answered this before - how and where did you learn to drive the mopeds? Do you need a specific qualification to be able to drive them in the Philippines ? (Or elsewhere that’s applicable !)
have you ever had issue with hostels being full.. or is it necessary to book ahead of schedule
Love the videos! Keep them coming! Very inspiring, would love to visit the Philippines some day.. also when did you get the hair braid? Looks great !😁
Do they still have issues with power?
The glowing plankton was bioluminescence. We have it here in Florida in the summer-fall months. It’s caused by a chemical reaction although the exact reason for it is unknown. Many scientists think it could be a defense mechanism.
Im going from Puerto Princessa to Coron June 12-July 5. does anyone have any experience with weather conditions during this time? I'm not sure about booking the Tao island hopping tours!
APMuzik typhoon season starts in June to October. We went there in July and in was beautiful and sunny. Palawan doesn’t get as much as typhoon as the north of the Philippines😊
@@jazmineperez9045 oh cool bananas that puts my mind at ease, thank you!
Very nice, how long are you spending in my beautiful country?😊❤️
That information is classified.
"Como estas?"
"Mah booty."
😆
Hahaha
Your yoga teacher is really cute. Where is she from?
She is half Swedish and half Iraq 😍
@@BackpackingBananas I thought she's half Filipina :-)
I thought half Indian half filipina.
Come back to cebu, you haven't been to Carnaza Island yet, have you?
It's not quite as easy as just popping back when your visa expires 😅😅
wow you replied 😍😍
Anyway, it's a good place with only a few tourists, so you mostly got the beaches for yourself. And the people are hospitable. I bet you'll enjoy yourself there 😁😁
Love you Christianne love your video vlog you are Amazing and Awesome OMG 💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍💍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 5/10/2019
