  • In this motovlog I share my top 10 reasons why I bought and Indian Motorcycle. I've been riding Harley Davidson's for years and never saw myself riding any other bike, however I love motorcycles...all motorcycles. Being that Indian and Harley Davidson started this whole thing back in the 1900's I accepted that another American Made Motorcycle company could potentially earn my business. My 2021 Indian Road Master Dark Horse is the best bike I've owned to date, from the look to the engine performance it stands unmatched in my opinion. I've owned it for a 11 months and have put on over 16K miles and hoping to add more next year. This is just my reasoning on purchasing an Indian Motorcycle, head out to a dealer, test ride one and see what I'm talking about.
10 AMERICAN MADE IN SPIRIT LAKE, IOWA
9 I WAS IN THE MARKET FOR A NEW TO ME MOTORCYCLE, I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD BUY NEW, BUT THEY MADE ME AN OFFER I COULDN’T REFUSE.
8 THE WAY IT FELT WHEN I FIRST SAT ON IT (SOMEONE TOOK A PICTURE OF ME SITTING ON THE BIKE WITHOUT ME NOTICING AND I WAS STRAIGHT CHEESING. IT WAS LOVE AT 1ST SIGHT.
7 THAT COLOR WAY IS SICK (I LIKE TO HAVE A BIKE THAT FEW PEOPLE OWN, BEING ORIGINAL)

I am 75yrs old and I couldn't handle my Harley anymore so I sold it when I was 72yrs old and I thought I would never ride again. But then one day I saw a video on youtube about Indian motorcycles and I saw the Scout 60 2021 yr model, my heart took a back flip, and the next day I told my wife that I wanted to check it out, so we went to the dealership I sat on it December 2021 and I bought it and I have never been happier, with all the Bikes that I have owned in my lifetime. Indians rock and I am still wearing out the rubber on the tires. So Thank you Indian Motorcycle for having a Motorcycle that older riders can still manage. PS congratulations on your new Bike and Many Blessings and Happy Trails.

I’m 47 and hadn’t ridden in years. Been wanting an American cruiser since I was 17. My wife kind of said the same thing, go look at your bike and stop talking about, just do it. I bought a scout rogue 60 last month and just love it. So far it has been the funnest bike to ride and I don’t have all the desert toys and campers like my friends and neighbors, but I have an Indian and love it!

A million miles warranty?! Just wow! I ride a 2020 Roadmaster. 56,000 trouble free miles. Couldn't be happier . Mine is warrantied until 2027! But it was a $2,000 option (well worth it).
Power windshield is a big deal. Live traffic and weather pretty awesome.

Been riding Japanese cruisers since 1981. Thought about buying and looked an many HDs over years. But could never get over handle bars that shake like a major earthquake hit, and I'm not really into the whole Harley "culture". I had been riding a Metric bagger for the last 15 years, always hoping to move up to an American dresser to make my wife more comfortable on the back. This past August I was able to purchase a used Roadmaster, and man, I wish I would have made the purchase sooner!!! I love the Roadmaster; it is so comfortable, so stable and yet a beast when you turn the throttle...it is an absolute pleasure to ride. I had looked at HDs, but the Indian just won my heart and it's not like what everyone else rides. She's unique, and so much more than I could have expected.

I have 5000 miles on my roadmaster. I love it. I've owned a road king and vtx. You missed the mono-shock. Making it a phenomenally better ride. The bad: try getting warranty work done before praising it. No dealers in Montana or Wyoming. Two of the best ride states. Very hot under my left thigh.

Congrats on your new bike! I just today picked up my 23 Challenger Dark Horse from iMotorsports do St. Pete. Traded in my 21 Chieftain Limited. Everybody I interacted with was incredibly awesome. Both Sales and Parts (bought a crap-ton of upgrades/add-ons). Kalvin, James, Alex, and Justin were just amazing to work with. No pressuring to close. Sincerely did everything they could to make me happy. About a year ago I walked away from the dealership because they didn’t have inventory and it was going to take 4-6 months to get what I wanted. I truly regret going elsewhere because of my damn impatience. I’m certainly happy now! Anyway, congrats again on your new bike. It’s a sweet one to be sure. Back in 2020 (Covid time) I bought my 2020 Roadmaster from Route 66 (iMotorsports) in Chicago. Their salesmen aren't on a commission, so you aren't "taking food out of their mouths" by getting a GOOD deal.
My wife wanted a FULL remodel of our kitchen, so my oldest and I took it down to the studs and rebuilt it (took almost a full year, with me only working on it on weekends). When we were nearing the end, she said to me, "Since you're giving me my Dream Kitchen, you can get your Dream Motorcycle." I hadn't been on a bike since we started having kids - I had a VERY close encounter, and wanted to make sure I was around to raise my boys. I figured she'd balk at the prices. I would have been contented on a Springfield, but at $20K I thought she'd freak, so when we went to the dealership, and she asked what I was thinking, I pointed at the "Big Dog" - she checked the price (a bit over $30K), and before I countered that I'd "settle" for the Springfield, she told me to "Go Ahead - I said your Dream Bike".
Since the salesmen aren't on commission, we kept going back and forth for 5 HOURS (1/2 hour after their "official" closing time). He'd think of another "perk" to tell his manager I wanted. The 1,000,000 mile warranty covers: Engine, Transmission & Wheel Bearings, I believe. I also got 10% off parts and accessories for life. Lifetime battery replacement. Wheel replacement if one gets bent. 8 oil changes. The lifetime Ceramic coating (the bugs DON'T stick). And plenty more I can't even remember off the top of my head. The MSRP was $31,750 - I got it Out The Door (with all of these "extras"), along with Tax, title, dealer-prep - EVERYTHING for $32,800. At the end, the salesman said I could pick it up on Wednesday - My wife said, "NO! He's riding it home TODAY!". Since the Ceramic coating takes a day to dry, on my 500 mile service, I received a free detail, before the coating could be applied.

Reverse gear - what...a reverse? 5. Adaptive and rider selective suspension and throttle/power control. 6. 10.25 inch display...tells you everything about the bike including oil level. 7. Center stand 8. One hole vs 3 hole (HD)...not sure how many holes the Indian has...but one hole, one oil. 9. Greater value... 10. Made in Germany...we all know about German made vehicle/motorcycles. And I am 6'4", large inseam guy. Could you imagine a shorter rider on an incline? They lost me, sadly. I went with the new Goldwing Tour. I have forward and reverse electric motor. Amazing machine. I'm also sure that it wouldn't be transferable. So I'm sure they're counting on the owner to get tired of the bike after 10, 20 thousand miles later. But it could be a great deal if you never sell it. I'm on my fifth new Indian so the million mile warranty wouldn't do me much good. But I did get the three year warranty as a Hero(retired). Better than nothing.

100% an investment, but the resale value of an HD compared to an Indian is terrible. Just from what I've seen in the used bike market.

YOU said: " They made you an offer I couldn't refuse". To me that implies they were willing to Negotiate PRICE. I do Not understand. When I went to my local Indian dealer, they were fixed on the price with no willingness to negotiate. Additionally they had attached an extra $900.oo Surcharge. So I shopped for a used Indian Vintage, 2014, at less than 1/2 the price of a new bike. True it was during the 'pandemic' and everybody talked about the supply chain problems. But still to be 'hard-lined' about price, I never pay list price, though I know plenty of folks will just give in and pay whatever a dealer is asking. I suppose that's business one might say. Again that's not me.

That sucks, Where the deal was sweeter for me was my trade and all the dealer incentives. $750 in upgrades (whatever I wanted) I went with bars and pegs. I got more for my trade than Any dealer around here would give and the experience. I’ve been to dealerships where they didn’t budge, and just like you they didn’t get my business. When the stars align that’s when the deal will be done.

Indian Motorcycles have changed the game in design and overall reliability. I also love the look of the challenger, it’s a mean looking bike. Thanks for checking out the video and for the comment!

@@nick_mophotos the designs of their larger bikes I find very appealing, the scount has a weird exhaust and styling to me, but I think the same for the futuristic design of the new sporty too. I’m still a bit on the soft spot for my 90s fxd. Looking heavily at the challenger though not going to lie. Gunna watch more.

Nice video! I looked at Indians for quite awhile at the Indian dealer here in Nashville and not a single sales guy came over to answer questions or see if I wanted a test ride. And, they weren't even busy that day! Long story short- afterwards, I stopped in the Harley Dealers and within an hour plopped down $$$ for a new Street Glide Special. I figure, If it's that hard to buy an Indian, imagine how hard it will be to get service and parts. Polaris are you listening??

Lot's of BS here. No one who spends $750 on accessories for a new M/C is interested in saving money. Nor does a "turnkey" bagger need accessory pegs or bars, particularly Indians which come with premium equipment and near ideal ergonomics. That's a carryover of his Harley mentality.
Overall he made a good choice, as long as nothing breaks. Indian repair shops are hard to find.
