How To Restore - Old Pivoting Vice - Complete Restoration - With 3D Printing

- This old vice was hidden somewhere in the back of my Workshop.
It was not in use for a long time, because it was missing some handles.
I started the restoration with disassembly and paint removal.
After some sandblasting, I gave it a shiny orange color.
I made a new handle for the screws. And to have all the same plastic caps on them, I 3D printed them all.
I designed the cap in a Fusion 360 and prepared the g-code in an Ultimaker Cura software.
The 3D printer is Tevo Tarantula with lots of upgrades.
The material used for the print is ASA (similar to ABS, but better UV-resistant).
Complete restoration with video editing took me two days.

Great job! Neat little vise and in my favorite color, orange. 😃👍🏼
Hi bro 👋👋👋 very very good restoration vise 👍👍👍
Thanks.
Nice restoration. Very very cool vise but i don't like the colour. Also those nails are to soft of a metal for a vise handle. They will bend very easily. But all in all a very cool resto!
Is that the same Orange that you painted the lawn mower? Nice. Don’t think that I would have painted the vise grips though. Nice job all the same.
Красиво получилось, но вот гвозди, думаю согнуться при хорошей затяжки
Very nicely refurbished. Thumbs Up Does your Fusion 360 program produce the correct files needed for the 3D printer without any further post conversions?
Thanks. I think there is an option to print from fusion 360 but I never tried. I use Ultimaker's Cura software to slice and prepare a g-code. It lets you set all kind of settings.
元々、それほどボロくない物をレストアとか草w日本ではそういうのは「余計なお世話」て言うんだよ!
