This is the Belgian entry to the 1969 Eurovision Song Contest. Jennifer Jennings by Louis Neefs music: Paul Quintens lyrics: Phil Van Cauwenbergh conductor: Francis Bay
Good music is of all times - no matter how it looked ages ago. Listen to the notes and the rhytm and let you get carried away, that is all that matters. Brilliant song!
This was a very good entry for Belgium. I really like Louis Neefs style. He was also very handsome for that time. He deserved a better placing in ESC and life (i think he suffered a tragic death). I m still hooked on this song. Hallo from Cyprus
He was killed in a car accident together with his wife Liliane on December 25th 1980. Their youngest son Gunther was only injured and would step in his fathers footsteps with that same deep warm voice.
louis neefs is a ganial singer and the belgium song very good why not 5 winners in the eurovision song contest in madrid 1969? from heaven louis neefs is with me
Geweldig. Dit zijn jeugdherinneringen aan de zorgeloze sixties. Ik was toen negen en ik herinner me dit liedje like it was yesterday! Austin Powers would say: groovy baby!
"JENNIFER JENNINGS " London City lay quietly dreaming in the sun To dream of the sea in the sun, around me Where I walked along the edges of the lawn The trees were in the sun, they looked wonderful And then along came you, Jennifer Jennings And danced sweetly as spring passed You came, Jennifer Jennings And blue eyes that smiled at me To me, only to me You then took me through the city Past the dreams you had, soft as they were And since then my dreams have returned again and again To all those dreams of yesteryear, of you and me And then along comes you, Jenniffer Jennings As fresh and playful as love, so happy Because you, Jennifer Jennings You are exactly what I dreamed for me Yes, then you come, Jennifer Jennings And blue eyes that smile at me But you, Jennifer Jennings You danced past, past, over and over again Always over Over and over again Hopelessly over _____ Songwriters: Manou Roblin / Paul Franciscus E. Quintens / Philemon Phil Van Cauwenbergh ❤❤❤❤
@giorgiaxp Yes, he did die very tragically. I was only young when he passed away, I was just coming up to my 7th birthday, and I remember hearing this on the news (we were on holiday in Brussels over christmas). He was only 43, and he was killed in a head on car crash in Lier, about an hours drive south east of Antwerp. His wife also died in the crash... to think, both of them on Christmas day... Damn shame. He was a great singer.
I like this song very much and to me it´s the best one of his two ESC entries. "Ik heb zorgen" is not a bad song but this one is just a little bit better.
Fantastistisch.
@9crimes3sirens Yes, I do most of it as I speak german and there are many similarities. I would love to expand to dutch/flemish in the future as I have a lot of friends in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Of course he is in love with Jennifer Jennings but interesting is that his Dutch is really pure and beautiful. I don't see Dutch normally as a beautiful language but when he sings it... class.
1:15 The best second in Eurovision history
2:41 not being bad either
I need Gifs of both moments 😂
52 years ago. fantastic song. amazing singer.
Good music is of all times - no matter how it looked ages ago. Listen to the notes and the rhytm and let you get carried away, that is all that matters. Brilliant song!
bravo louis neefs for your voice style you are a genial artist for ever i love you
Prachtig gezongen,mooi Vlaams accent.
when more i listen louis neefs and this song more i lilke it... he is a genius...!!!
yes yes very yes
I think so too.

His voice is so rich, deep, warm and very noble, it's almost classical. His diction is very pure. Shame he was not famous outside our little country.
Francis Bay is great conductor!
Onbeschrijfelijk mooi. .mijn kindertijd..
louis neefs is a ganial singer and the belgium song very good why not 5 winners in the eurovision song contest in madrid 1969?
from heaven louis neefs is with me
Prachtig nummer 🎵😢
Super grote fan van Louis Neefs
7 people would just dislike anything
rust zacht Louis
Geweldig. Dit zijn jeugdherinneringen aan de zorgeloze sixties. Ik was toen negen en ik herinner me dit liedje like it was yesterday!
Austin Powers would say: groovy baby!
hij is zo mooi
LOUIS NEEFS IN EEN GENIE!!!!!
Door geen enkele Vlaamse zanger te overtreffen. Gewoon de beste ooit!
Super !
might be the best entry fron belgium ever
"JENNIFER JENNINGS "
London City lay quietly dreaming in the sun
To dream of the sea in the sun, around me
Where I walked along the edges of the lawn
The trees were in the sun, they looked wonderful
And then along came you, Jennifer Jennings
And danced sweetly as spring passed
You came, Jennifer Jennings
And blue eyes that smiled at me
To me, only to me
You then took me through the city
Past the dreams you had, soft as they were
And since then my dreams have returned again and again
To all those dreams of yesteryear, of you and me
And then along comes you, Jenniffer Jennings
As fresh and playful as love, so happy
Because you, Jennifer Jennings
You are exactly what I dreamed for me
Yes, then you come, Jennifer Jennings
And blue eyes that smile at me
But you, Jennifer Jennings
You danced past, past, over and over again
Always over
Over and over again
Hopelessly over

@9crimes3sirens Yes, I do most of it as I speak german and there are many similarities. I would love to expand to dutch/flemish in the future as I have a lot of friends in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Elvis in the gettt

whoehoeeeeeee ;D mijn stagementor zingt da altijd voor me x'd
1:15 has to be the Flemish version of "Don't tase me ,Bro!" or who hit him with the coin from the sideline?

@hulpvaardigewisent ahahaha i cried!
@giorgiaxp He died in a car accident in the seventies
@giorgiaxp
do you understand what he's singing?
Of course he is in love with Jennifer Jennings but interesting is that his Dutch is really pure and beautiful. I don't see Dutch normally as a beautiful language but when he sings it... class.
Jean-Pierre De Vent It's because his Dutch is the Flemish (dutch spoken in belgium) variant, it's a lot softer.
zalige beweging op 1:16 min
Here the English version: czcams.com/video/eKTpvfNZj_Y/video.html
