I have a decant of Mitsouko on it’s way and I look forward to trying this!! I appreciate your lesson on how to perceive notes 🍑 you always share unique information and tips on your channel 💚
I can't thank you enough for this exercise! Not only I found peaches in my modern extrait, but also jasmine! I knew about this trick before (when you smell, say patchouli oil and then smell Coromandel, then you get what coromandel would be without patchouli!))), but never thought of applying it in this way. Last week I received my Mitsouko extrait and found it underwhelming. It was such a watercolour compared to a photographic Mitsouko edp from '99... I was upset and confused. Couldn't descern much from the fresh extrait at all.. Edit next morning: later in the evening I found oakmoss in my mitsouko extrait! And in the morning, i had quite a few scent strips laying about. Picked one up and thought, ehmm.. can't remember spraying Zoologist Nightingale.. And then had a facepalm!! It was my Mitsouko extrait again! Showing one of its many faces, this time i found a rose!! How fascinating! Thank you!!!!!!
Thanks Victoria. Such good instruction for isolating different notes in Guerlain perfumes. I'm also interested in how our individual skin chemistry/diet affects how fragrances smell on us. Please cover this topic, also maybe the issue of reformulations of famous fragrances. This feels like false labelling as they often change so drastically from the original experience of the perfume. Re:Guerlain. For years I thought it was my own chemistry rather than a reformulation of Chamade.
Thank you so much. For budget reasons I've bought miniature of classics fragrances (chanel cristalle, lolita lempicka) and now I'd like to have one of Shalimar. What do you think about miniature? I like to have them both to know classics (no more available in the shop) and to do experiment like in the video...
It should be fine. Just make sure to get them from a place that allows returns, because some of the etailers offer the grey market products and they may not be fresh. if they’re not fresh, you’ll know right away. they will smell rancid, sour or just off.
I have followed your blog for years but did not know of this channel. I feel like I have unearthed a treasure!
Thank you very much! :)
Peach is my favourite fruity note in fragrances and Mitsouko is one of my most beloved fragrances. Thank you for this awesome post.

Thank you! I have both of these fragrances and will try this experiment :) will have to wait for summer to test with the peach!
Hope you like it!
Thank you so much Victoria! Your videos make me happy! I love Mitsouko, and I couldn't smell peach, I can't wait to test your advice!

Great suggestion, Clare. I will do a video on this topic.
To be honest, I wish you would teach a course on perfumes - especially how to identify the various notes. I would happily pay for that.
Thank you, I used to offer such classes.
omg this is so interesting ! So happy that I discovered your channel 💘
Thank you so much!
