Excellent tip on removing top screw first ! Thanks.
Great video. Very informative, with great tips. Especially the fill plug on the transfer case.
You inspired me to paint my diff covers as well (Caterpillar yellow). Looks pretty good on a green xj.
DAMM THIS IS AN AWESOME VID. THANK U BROTHER. WILL BE DOING THE SAME THIS WEEKND Keep vids like this coming our way man. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE EM.... 💪💪💪
Thanks buddy! Glad you enjoyed it. Good luck!
Keeping up with my past d and e videos. Another good one from you guys. Next time I do the diff fluid on my xj I’ll definitely be giving them a shot of rustoleum
I appreciate the rewatch bud! You have been with us for a dang long time now!
Needed this one today - my ZJ just sent a message on that little console that still works
Awesome video! Thanks man, and greetings from Finland!
Awesome video, well explained. Thank you!
I’m watching your videos and I don’t even own a Jeep. Somehow is eye relaxing :) and I don’t think I’ll ever do this on my cars
Very informative sir 👏 thank you!!!
yo!! what the heck! I was planning to paint mine yellow too and when you said "Jersey winter" I was taken a back gotta rep jersey!
I came here for the diff, and was gunna have someone do the the transfer case, but you made it look so easy im confident i can do both
you rock dude
You got it, bud. JERSEY STRONG! Good luck :-)
I change all the fluids like this on a new to me vehicle. Just so I know its been done, and the condition of the fluids when I changed them and so I have a record of it being done. Fluids can tell you a lot about a vehicle especially if you send them in to be analyzed.
You are damn right buddy
Where do you send fluids to be analyzed?
always put anti seize on the plug threads ( you hopefully also cleaned)......then you never fear rounding off stuck plugs..........
Thanks pal...big help.
Thanks. It works!
Thanks for this video! I have a 03 WJ V8 with a Dana 44 Super. Had it replaced 2 years ago and then started hearing some whirling recently on acceleration. Took it back to the same shop and they told me the entire thing needed to be replaced for $3,500. I think ill try changing the fluid first as I doubt a diff that was just replaced 2 years ago would go out that quick.
Did it work?
can i switch the transfer case on my quadra trac to one with 2wd? glad i found ur channel, helped me few times where i was stuck
My 02 WJ Laredo 4.7L manual states to change rear differential gear oil with 2qts of conventional 75W90-80W90(without towing) or 90W140(heavy towing) with 4oz Mopar limited slip every 12K miles which seems kinda excessive but hey there have been a lot of 4WD sticking problems and differential problems on 99-04 WJs
Love the humor, In my world there is cursing and blood shed once I get drenched. Excellent video bro and yes you will be broke and frustrated owning a Jeep; wish I never got one, LOL
Great video!!! I like that wooden stand you used to clean your diff cover! Did you buy it or did you rig it together? Looks like it had some adjustable hinges. Proud Jeep owner here. Greetings from sunny florida
Great video
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed it!
Had to buy the mopar stuff for my dif. Book said don't use atf4.
Thanks King 🤴
So does the chrysler 8.25 also take 80w-90?
Is it the same for the front?
You can have a bucket with sawdust to clean up oil and fluid spills...
Little bit of nickel based anti seize on fill plug threads will prevent that fight!
Good point! I will add that to the process next time
It says you need RTV that is resistant to limited slip additives
Did your car have a skid plate?
If you use the liquid gasket, make sure you get the one specifically for "gear oil." the others will dissolve in the long term.
I'm so broke but I can pay attention! 💕
Thanks very informative
Question
Where can I buy the Replacement plastic filler cap?
All over.. here is one on Amazon which is pretty cheap.. amzn.to/3mPdkaP
I'm sure you've long found this plug, but Doman/HELP # for it is 65340. Most any local parts store should stock them also. Look for an older working at the parts store, all of us have probably sold hundreds of them...haha
Is it ok to spray brake clean in there with the cover off to rinse it out good?
Sure, i know lots of people who do that. Jjst make sure that if it pool in the bottom you clean it out before refilling
Do you work on other Jeep's? If so reach out too me please
LMAO! Spillage! Bro I did the same in the Tcase pull video 🤦♂️ What a mess!
I can smell that spent diff fluid.
awesome vid and did you say "your boned?" hahahhahha LOVE IT !SUBSCRIBED! Awesome!
