    Having the Hamilton for a while now, it's one of those pieces that you take off your wrist, look for another watch to wear, and then just go back to it instead. It's a great watch, and more versatile than you would think.

      Absolutely right! I've had my 38mm Auto for a week now... Really reminds me of my old Omega from 2003...It just feels solid, beautiful and classic. I'm so impressed with the brand (my first watch from Hamilton), and it makes me wonder - is it really worth saving for years to buy a Rolex or anything else over £5000?

      @@Valera_Scotland I had a rolex op, sold it and bought a Hamilton khaki field 38mm, no regrets and the more you wear the Hamilton the more you love it. By far one of a best watches for the money. I've also had the sarb033, I got bored of it within a month a sold it, it's not as versatile and I would class it as a dress watch.

      @@coffeeboyclips1973 Thanks for the comment... Still wearing mine and loving it. And in terms of accuracy, it's 2 seconds slow a day, which is very impressive.. The only negative I can see is - it really is very shiny, as it has no AR coating, but it doesn't bother me too much

    I like both brands, but being an American living in Berlin, Germany, the nostalgia kicks in and for me would be a Hamilton. Maybe not this particular model, but I just love Hamilton's design pattern in watches. I own a gold case, silver dial Intamatic 38mm, and I'm in love with it.

    That Hamilton 38mm Auto is, for me anyway, the best watch in the world under £500. I had it on the steel bracelet and selling it is a huge regret. Under 500 in the used market is really interesting, you can get Max Bill autos and beautiful 1960's/70's Divers from Yema and Zodiac. My biggest mistake ever was getting outbid on a Gen 1 Seiko and not pushing it past my £500 limit, it went for £590 and now is easily £1500. I'm sure the watch world is littered with these stories. Great vid again Max, your camera work is top drawer.

Your vocal and visual approach kept me attentive to the very end of the video. I consider your style to be right up there with the Urban Gentry and of course Teddy Baldassarre. Khaki Field is a field watch with 5ATM WR, SARB is a dressy watch with 10ATM WR. Between the two of them, SARB is tougher and more versatile. You can dress SARB up and down as you like with any straps you like. With Khaki, because of the long lug, it wouldn't look good in most two piece straps because the gap would be too big.
    For one watch collection, SARB. For two watch collection, SARB and DW5600.

    I actually sold my Hamilton Khaki field after owning it for 3 years to fund my sarb033 a year ago for its subtle beauty and versatility. Personally, I think sarb033 is more appealing as a one watch collection compare to Hamilton for its simplicity with a touch of classic design that make it almost timeless. The less is more design philosophy it adopted make it easily fit in well with any look in any occasion. On the other hand, Hamilton Khaki field seems to be trying too hard and seems a little too busy to look at, which make it a watch that only goes well with casual look and it will look a little out of touch on your wrist when you suit up.

    Yesterday, I went to my local jewelers and got this model of the Hamilton Khaki but in the 42mm version. I must say that it's going to stay on my wrist for a while b/c I find it very classy and wearable on a day to day basis. What I specifically like is that it's not too classy that I leave it in it's display box during this time of Pandemic where we can't have or go to any events. I find that the strap they chose is a good quality strap but a little stiff at first (normal, it's leather) so, breaking it in is another reason why I'm keeping it on my wrist for a while (sorry to my other watches who won't get any wrist time 😉).

    This is a great review, Max. Just recently discovered your channel and subscribed; I really like your classy, laid back style. You're kind of the "anti-Archie," lol. I have both the sarb033 and 035 and love them both. Have thought about the Hammy, but not sure if I would get much wear out of it, as I rock the sarbs so much. Keep up the great content!

    The seiko is flat out better looking but it is a little more dressy which may be a problem and it’s like a grand for one now. It’s a damn shame that Hamilton did the whole murph thing and charges almost half again more for a khaki with a dial that doesn’t have a bunch of shit all over it.

    I have the Hamilton khaki field mechanical officer and I am looking for a SARB033 or 035 but because I have already a mechanical watch I found this Seiko SUR311P1 for more formal occasions and also for less worries about its cost maintenance. Which of the two you suggest me? The one is automatic and the other is quartz. But I thought I do not really need a second mechanical or automatic to avoid the costs of double servicing in the future. Would you suggest this quartz or the Sarb for my occasion?
    Like so much your video!

    • @WatchCrunchOfficial
      @WatchCrunchOfficial  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for your comments! I would never recommend a quartz if you can go mechanical. You are just getting so much more for your money and service intervals are a bit over emphasized and can be stretched a bit. I would recommend you check out the seiko cocktail time if you can wear a 40mm, it's got a beautiful dial.

    • @achillesdanieladam9486
      @achillesdanieladam9486 Před 3 lety

      @@WatchCrunchOfficial I just thought as if I will have this quartz and no worries to magnetized or losing time or having a damage that will cost me too much. Because I cannot afford two different high priced services. But if the Sarb can withstand through a lot then I can go for it.

    • @WatchCrunchOfficial
      @WatchCrunchOfficial  Před 3 lety +1

      @@achillesdanieladam9486 you can easily demagnetize a watch yourself, but if you are really looking for a beater quartz, then I'd go for a gshock or something truly rugged. A dress watch that's quartz just makes me shutter 😬

    • @achillesdanieladam9486
      @achillesdanieladam9486 Před 3 lety

    • @WatchCrunchOfficial

    Simple mathematics. Simply buy both and don’t be bothered of which is the one. You’ll be in different occasions in different days. Unless you are in the position to choose between AP and VC just do it. Why want to crack your head for a simple equation? Honestly I prefer the combination of Khaki King and Sarb033 period.
