Disclosure: We are in no way affiliated with Monash.
I always heard med school required like constant studying every day, this guy seems too relaxed lol.
right. he even said studying was not his priority
If your Australian it's pretty typical for us regardless of what we are studying.
Lol Monash Medical School is rank 29th in the world as of 2017, which places it in front of Cornell, NYU, Mayo and Brown..
shia labuff, some people react to stress differently. And of course, some people you could say (don't it seriously enough.)
This is an MD. It may not be the same exact MD offered in the US, but it certainly is an MD. Monash's transition from MBBS to MD was mostly only a name change. The curriculum remains vastly similar. An MBBS is pretty much the same as an MD, here in Australia, and certainly isn't "considerably easier". I can't say much for the US since I haven't looked much into its system; but, what I do know is that, as far as medical school is concerned, Australia and the US are pretty similar. The differences are more apparent, afterwards, during the "residency" years.
And you're comparing third year (the hardest year) to this guy who's in his second year (of 5 years). A real Harvard med student would have realised that.
I live in Melbourne, its not as good as he makes it seem. And the amazing 'Melbourne weather' is the biggest load of bullshit, the weather here is inconsistent and pretty crap, every local knows that.
Withall that said though, Monash is still a pretty good uni.
Chue Cola totally agree about the weather thing. You get four seasons in one day and I never understood people who think the weather here is amazing like?? Melbourne really?
It depends what your definition of good weather is. To me, thunderstorms or a rainy day is great weather.
Yes Sydney has better weather, and better looking girls.
I agree Melbourne weather is shitty as hell, but I think he was referring to that day lol and it looked pretty good compared to the usual gloomy weather
Amazes me how much he can fit in on top of medical school - didn't think it was possible :P
if i spend my days in Uni like him I'll fail through the whole freaking sem
He looks a bit too chill to be a doctor lol may be he's an expert in coping with stress?
Awesome vid guys! Matani, if the doctor thing doesn't work out, just work for a travel show!
How the heck is that guy so relaxed? Engineering (which is supposedly slightly easier) is tensing!! (Extra note: Monash pharmacy is the world's SECOND best pharmacy university as of QS 2017-2018)
Aussies hahah
Great Video - Great guy!
loved this! really interested in medicine at monash :)
woo, i was just watching your other videos
Do the university has an anatomy lab or offer dissection classes ?
is there any major program at Monash for Biomedical Engineering Undergraduate
i love monash
All I can think about is how amazing that yoghurt looked 😋😋😋😋😋
does monash still have its undergraduate program? or have they switched to only doctor of medicine now?
They still have the undergraduate program.
Monash has changed the name of the degree to "Doctor of Medicine", but the undergraduate entry into the programme remains unchanged.
do you think I should major in biomolecular science or nursing to prepare for medical school?
Jahlyssa Blackwin Bio
East bentleigh
YESS melbournian :) YASSSSS!!
Can you make a Dental School video? Please~~~~
he said that he is studying the Doctor of medicine (MD) program but the Billboard at 00:16 says that it's an MBBS ( Bachelor of medicine And Bachelor of surgery) curriculum. wierd
They only changed their undergrad medicine program from MBBS to MD recently so that'd probably explain it
I wonder why they felt the need to shift to a new program. The undergraduate model was better, wasn't it?
They still offer both an undergrad (5 years) and post grad program (4 years), I think it's just that they've changed the name of the undergrad from MBBS to MD (possibly a change in curriculum as well).
A growing number of Aus unis are making similar shifts.
ohh. Here in India all the Universities offer an undergraduate medical school MBBS program of 5.5 years. Even we med school aspirants in India sometimes wonder what it is like to study in a post grad program.
3:55 wait how does MUMUS stand for Monash University Medical Student Society
it stands for Monash University Medical Undergraduates' Society which is the med student society at monash
The name was recently changed to Monash University Medical Students' Society, but MUMSS sounds silly so the old abbreviation was kept.
productive work = telethon ?

Hey guys,
Can someone help me with the qualifications needed if Im doing A Levels cause the website only has qualifications for IB and the Australian System?
Thanks.
Nadifa Abdi
Many universities in Australia uses points systems. You can find the required points on their website. So for example: Engineering requires 8 points for A levels students to be eligible to study. A* and A equals to 5 points, B is 4 points, C is 3 points and D is 2 points. Hope it helps
For this degree at Monash, you need 3 A’s (AAA) and one has to be in chemistry.
Colimia Greenblades To study medicine at monash the entry requirements are AAA for those doing A Levels?
Our city Melbourne is NOT as good as this guy makes it out. Most of us agree that it is no longer the most liveable city
Do you have at least a 90 ATAR? Great. But that's not all you need to get into Monash Med!

Ohh whats that? Your looking to get in to a uni here in the us? Okay show us your bank account! Ohh and grades...yh i guess they are kinda important too
This is so embarrassing for the university.
Nicole Why and how?
Uni pride isn't really a thing in aus. for example it would be social suicide to walk around campus wearing a jumper with Monash written on it in caps
That might just be a Melbourne thing. I know in Sydney the uni rivalry is pretty strong, even if it's in jest sometimes. Also lots of people wear uni clothing.
The only uni that comes to mind when you say that is usyd lol. I don't think I've ever seen anyone walking around with UNSW or UTS. But then again I'm not from Sydney
I go to UTS, and I see a fair few people unironically wearing merch. The UTS USyd rivalry is pretty strong though, UNSW more does its own thing.
Notice how he chose Monash for every reason but the actual school. The Australian education is a joke.
Jolly Holly dumbass
@@MikeY-et2gq Like you can ever get into the school I'm studying at now. :)
@@jollyholly2851 and which school is that? I’m in year 10 so not in uni yet
