    I don't get it, she's been here 30 years and never applied for a green card, she is married and her husband couldn't sponsor her?...she would get a green card in 6 month and citizenship in 3 years but she never did that...there must be a reason for that and they are not telling us, something more is missing in the story.

      Thank you. I whole-heartedly agree. She's not telling it all. Watch she has committed a crime she does not consider a crime just like her being in this country she does not consider a violation of law. Maybe live somewhere where the laws are not strictly enforced. Perhaps where you came from?

They know that paying taxes and the bills are very important things, but getting their citizenship ASAP was priority number one. This is a heartbreaking story and it seems unfair to be taken away from your family after living in America for so long. However, she had 30 years to get her papers right and I think her sons understand it too judging by their lack of emotion to the situation.

What makes you better than them? Why are you threatened by them? Is your pathetic quality of life better bc she is no longer here? Are they criminals? Are they sponging of welfare? They are a beautiful loving caring family!!! And why should an entire family pack up and leave anyway? If you fail to go back to your own country within that timeframe you will subsequently receive a Notice to Appear before an immigration judge. Disregarding the NTA and still failing to leave after 6 months thereafter will give the judge the power to issue a Removal Order even without your presence in court. The order gives ICE the power to pick you up and deport you since you are now essentially a fugitive under the law. She's not a criminal (Although jack asses love to say the old "She is a criminal because she came in illegally" Yeah, she broke the law 30 years ago, once. You take into consideration everything else that far outweighs that she came in illegally. Does she have a violent criminal record in her country of origin? Is she running from the law in her country of origin? Is she a spy? What was she doing while she was here for 30 years. Making an honest living, by not stealing and or hurting people and raising a family. I don't see any reason to deport this lady and break up this family. She is not hurting the US or it's way of life. She's not on welfare. There are prob tons of other people that deserve to be deported besides her. But, what's happening here is that they are not even looking at these cases. They're just sending people away. Did you know that since Trump took office, ICE has actually gone over budget and deported more people than Obama and Bush administration alone? Are you kidding me? I'm all for having better immigration protection and vetting. That's great. But, don't run around indiscriminately deporting sweet old ladies that have been here for 30 years and tearing her away from her sons, possible grandchildren and family here. That's just completely fucking disgusting and despicable and deep down you know it is. We have a tighter grip on our borders now. Lets worry about deporting people that have only been here for 10 years or less and lets change the law so that an immigrant be that legally here or illegally has to be here in the US at least 5 years before any of children the have here can be considered US citizens, also no welfare for illegal immigrants. Why in the fuck are we paying taxes to provide welfare for immigrants? They may not be able to afford it, or they may not have passports themselves. It’s possible they are married with children and need to work to support their families. It’s also possible that since she’s leaving, they need to stay and run the restaurant as income for the family. They may have other responsibilities or limitations that we don’t know about- what if one of them is in treatment for a chronic illness like cancer? We just don’t know the whole story, and there are many times in life where we can’t do exactly what we would like to do. If it were my mom being deported right now, I wouldn’t be able to go with her because my passport expired. I also have some other responsibilities and physical disabilities so it may not be physically possible. My other siblings are working and need to keep working, to support their own families. Hopefully she has some relatives she can reconnect with! And hopefully her sons will appeal for her, because they are US citizens.

    This is sad, however, it does fall on her lap. My cousin in law who was here for 30 years illegally went through the process of becoming a citizen some years ago and though he had to return to his native country for two years he was given citizenship and has been living here legally ever since. That’s what she and others could of done years ago. I can’t move into a house claim it as mine live there for years and not expect to be booted out when the owner returns. That’s what is happening, laws that were in place that were not enforced are now being enforced.

      @@LookingGlass24 If Americans are so judgmental & bad why are do we accept over a million legal immigrants every year from all over the world & have have somewhere between 11 & 22 million illegal aliens also living in our country of which the majority are from Latin America! Even though there are so many living here illegally there is no serious effort to remove these people. Trumps administration only removed 226,000 illegal aliens in fiscal 2017 which was down 6% from Obama's last year in office. This is only a small fraction of the total who are here illegally. So it's hard to make a serious case of Trump being a deportation monster & comparing him to Hitler. So if we the US citizens are so bad why do so many keep coming here! My wife immigrated here legally from Mexico over 30 years ago. She did it correctly Green Card obtained while still living in Mexico, later permanent resident card & later citizenship. Some parts of the process were not easy but she persisted in doing it correctly and was successful. In the long run there are many reasons to insist on legal immigration not the least of which is to know who is in our country & what they are doing! Not everyone who comes here loves the US. We see that all the time when people burn the US flag or wave the Honduran flag while protesting their anger over US policy. Our immigration policy may not be liked by some in other countries but it is our policy and has to be obeyed! If we do not carefully look at everyone coming to work & live in the US it will become just as lawless as the countries so many are trying to escape! Apply logic to the situation and you will understand why this has to be. It may seem hard but someone famous a long time ago stated this about laws: "If one man can be allowed to determine for himself what is law, every man can. That means first chaos, then tyranny." What that boils down to in the end if we don't enforce our laws the country will become weaker, the government will lose control over the populace & we could fall victim to a Hitler or Stalin situation. Americans need to stick together & work within the constitution rather than trying to tear everything apart from within. Just 2 cents worth from nobody but something to think about!

      @LookingGlass24 Před 5 lety +1

      kickit59 oh brother, you belong to a completely different ideology than mine. No point in rebutting your arguments, especially you being a Trumpian. 🙄 You really don’t understand the causes for migration from certain countries and how the US is very much to blame for much of the displacement and poverty they’ve caused overseas, including the Colombian drug lords that now control Honduras. Do your research.
      One can only understand Immigration if one first understands MIGRATION. This is a fact.
      Also, nobody can get US Residency while living in another country. To establish residency, you have to be a resident of that country, and at a minimum travel back & forth continuously to ensure residency is established.
      The last thing we need is a corrupt fascist like Trump & cronies. Pff. Thankfully, the nightmare will [hopefully] be over in two more years.

    • @kickit59
      @kickit59 Před 5 lety

      @@LookingGlass24 My wife got her green card and came to the US. She had to go to some serious effort to get permanent residency! She had to travel at least two times to her nearest large city & be interviewed. These were serious questions by one who took his job seriously but it was worth the effort for her because she wanted to do it right not only for her but for our daughter. Once she had been here for the three years she did her citizenship and was naturalized. I am totally ok with anyone coming here to live and prosper even a pink polka dotted Martian if he or she can follow the rules. My wife is smart but she is not a rocket scientist so if she can do it so can others. A case I read about a while back talked about a lady from Guatemala with two children who paid Coyotes 7 thousand US to help her cross the border & still in the end was caught a few years later and deported. If she can come up with that much to pay a coyote she could of for much less went to her nearest US embassy filled out her paper work, paid the fee and waited her turn for approval or not. I don't have a problem with immigration or Latin America only that folks follow the law!
      Now another thing regarding me being a Trumpian! I am 59 years old and was a lifelong Democrat! I even voted for Obama twice thinking things would get better if he only had a little more time. A little more time LOL! I kept giving them a little more time my whole life and kept losing middle class jobs because the company would close up it's US operations and move to Mexico, China or elsewhere. The last middle class job I lost was in January of 2016. That job in primary aluminum smelting went to China. One doesn't have to be a genius to know if you ship out millions of your best paying blue collar jobs to other countries & have 22 or so million people living here illegally whom can be easily exploited by companies like Tyson Chicken that it will lower the overall wage that employers pay because it's a simple matter of supply and demand. If Trump supporters & Trump were so fascist why did millions of us vote for Obama twice? The Democrats have forgotten the American blue collar middle class who were the backbone of the country. The very rich don't pay the same percentage as the middle class because of write offs & the poor don't! It's the middle income earners who pay for most of it! Right after I was layed off in January of 16 Obama said it's globalization nothing I can do. Hillary came right out and said I am going to follow Obama's blueprint. So for me the die was cast at my age I would be dead before anything was done if we didn't vote in someone who cared about citizens. It's not that I hate or dislike anyone but we have 7 tent cities in Seattle and other places all over the country. The folks living in tents in California from the fires. Jeez why don't we tackle the poverty here first before we worry about the worlds poverty stricken. It's not to be mean but I can show you folks in Seattle of just about every ethnicity & religion poverty stricken & living in tents right here. On the Fred Meyer corner near me there is a young lady in her late 20's of so who is panhandling with a prosthetic leg which is real. On the Safeway corner three senior citizens panhandling who really look worse off than those in the caravan that is in Tijuana right now. So I am a Trumpian yes I am and proud of it! Not racist in the least I love Latin America the people and the cultures. It's just that I don't like illegal immigration for the reasons I have mentioned and other reasons I could go into that would make this post into a book because it's a complicated subject.
      Lastly I will be short in this point because it's late & I am tired. Here goes while there are things the US has done in Latin America that were wrong we have at the same time sent a ton of jobs that were once middle class American jobs to Mexico & Latin America. Levis & automobiles made in Mexico, t shirts & underwear made in Honduras & many other instances of Americans losing out while Latin American countries gained employment. Personally I hate drug traffickers & drug users so as far as I am concerned we should go in and wipe out the traffickers both the very wealthy & the poor both here & in other countries so people can live their lives in peace and prosperity instead of twitching like a tweaker with vacant eyes. Now I promise this point is the end because this has become a veritable book. Why doesn't the left ever complain about corrupt Latin American leaders who exploit & rip off their people. Juan Orlando Hernandez the president of Honduras is a millionaire and lives in the presidential palace. Why don't the people of Honduras go en mass and drag him out of his palace by the ears if they have to and hold his feet to the proverbial coals to find out what he did with the hundreds of millions of dollars in aid he received from us in recent years. If it was thousands & thousands of people there would be nothing he could do to stop them in the long run. The people are saying they don't see a cent of that money so it's time to make him cough it up. Some members of my family have fought in every war the US has been involved in including the revolution & civil war. There are times no matter what the odds are that a man has to step up to the plate and come out swinging to fight for justice. The leaders of Mexico and most of the other Latin American countries are just as corrupt & need to be dealt with! Something to think about!

      kickit59 As I said, your worldview is completely different from mine. I would waste my time elucidating what I know, and how things really are. Trumpians don’t listen to reason. I hope your work isn’t tied to the steel tariffs that are bankrupting many businesses and manufacturing here all thanks to the fool in the White House and his narcissism. About your obsession with doing things legally, it’s interesting that Whites came here illegally and annihilated the true Americans in the American continent full of brown people, from sea to sea, but now they don’t even offer grace with asylum seekers and send 15,000 soldiers to prevent less than 3,000 Central Americans from doing so. That IS DIRTY! I wish all the Europeans who despise people of color would return to their homeland as they don’t belong in America, the continent. Cruel colonizers is what you all are. And I don’t believe for a moment you’re not a racist like the rest of them. I know plenty who married a foreigner, like Trump married his hot Slovenian wife, but are racist to the core and feel so entitled to despise the new immigrants coming in, especially the little Brown Central Americans. Shame on all of you for despising new immigrants. How convenient that now that Whites have been settled for generations, you close the doors and mistreat all others that don’t look like you. And double shame for impeding these poverty stricken Central Americans at the border from even going through the lawful asylum-seeking process. And triple shame for you people kidnapping and selling 1,500 babies in May from The Central Americans who came in. That was heinous, disgusting and absolutely unforgivable. It’s obvious you don’t fear God and Only care about preserving your jobs. TRUMPIANS don’t care about what’s ethical. Also, you don’t know a red cent about Hondurans and the entrapment they’re in. You opine without true knowledge. Truly, I find people like to be so unaware of reality and very nationalistic in your thinking.
      I had many friends like you because I used to be an Independent who leaned Republican. The 1st day I saw Trump on stage, I knew that major trouble was ahead for everyone. Now, I’ve ended those friendships and lean Democrat. I want to be around good fellow Americans, not those who celebrate the unfeeling and cruel edicts of this administration. My ethics and fear of the Lord are too strong to be compromised. Not even my job matters as much. I have 2 masters from Ivy League schools-I’ll find another one. I’ve been unemployed at times and God has pulled me thought. But hell will freeze over before I compromise my ethics, values and caring of vulnerable people and strangers in the land for to them belongs the kingdom of heaven. They are worthy of being protected and cared for, especially when they don’t have time or the means to do it “legally.” The asylum process is LEGAL. They are fighting for their very survival as many Northern Europeans did who were being persecuted and came to AMERICA, the continent, ILLEGALLY, to save themselves. I’ve had it with the cruel double standards White colonizers of my continent now impose on those born here in America’s soil. After all, Central Americans for the most part, were born in this continent. Whites weren’t.
