    You have to lock the crankshaft as well because the bottom pulley is "floating", there is a hole at the back of the engine towards the flywheel. The hole in the engine is 30mm, but the hole in the flywheel is only about 9.3mm, so you have to turn a shaft down. The 30mm part should be max 25mm long, and the 9.3mm should be about 15mm long.

    how did you assume timing with the crank not being pinned? and why the pliers/vice grips on the intake cam when its pinned and cant move anyway

    A year ago I had problem after replacement of timing belt engine EW10J4 after engine running car doesn't start and i find lost compression at cylinder 1&2 what your opinion thank you so much Sir,

      @Lo No. If the reason for replacing timing belt was caused by timing belt cut, then the engine valves were probably affected. If that's not the case, then you didn't set the timing properly or did something wrong while putting the new belt. I can't tell from here what it is since I wasn't there and a lot of things can cause the symptoms you described.

    Have u ever had a cracked flex plate on the auto version with the al4 gearbox, I have a ticking sound at idle and wondering if it's the flex plate that's cracked?

    How fast is that engine EWE10a? And is it easy to maintain? Does it move very fast more than EW10 or EW12?

      @adewale oluwaseun. The EW10A is easy to maintain, just like EW10J4. It's quicker and more powerful than EW10J4 as well, but has less power than EW12J4.

      Ew10a make about 140hp while ew10j4 136hp eish.ew12 150-160hp.ew10a got vvt same as ew12.there got ew10j4s that make 170hp+
