I did the same thing to my ASUS ROG Strix 3060 Ti and I actually found the temps underload where higher (80 degrees) compared with the stock cooler (62 degrees). Under idle temps where about 26-30 degrees. What was the temps under load?
Did you remove the plastic from the cooler before mounting it on one gpu? That’ll cause that, and make sure to use a good amount of thermal paste. Mine under load stays between 68-72 Celsius depending if I’m gaming with the card overclocked or not.
Asus rog is the coolest GPU in any chipset you choose. There is no need to do this expensive Work around with the nzxt kraken mount and a compatible watercooler. For the price you will spend in 2 watercoolers you may buy a custom loop with budget parts.
@@AdrianGtz not yet, originally it was working, but the aio attached to it went out, so I had to replace it. Then when I went to put the new aio in found out I had to swap it with the other aio working in my system because it didn’t mount to the kraken. Once I solved that issue, oit everything back together and I noticed the kraken isn’t spinning upon start up, I had wondered the same if heavy load would make it spin
Yeah, this is how it looks like, when somebody, who does not understand the basics about GPU cooling does a cooler swap. The fan on the G12 is there to cool down VRM, but since VRM on this GPU is in the back, it has nothing to cool down - it only blows air from bottom to the top. If you´d at least glued a heatsink atop of VRMs and VRAM modules... This is just an excellent way to kill it fast, but with cool core!
Lmfao! Do you even understand the concept of liquid cooling? If you even read any of the other comments, you’d know that after I made the video I applied new thermal pads to all vrm. Also, the card stays 35-40° cooler over stock when under load 🤣😂🤦🏻♂️ Card has been running better than you and is user every day for gaming!
@@AdrianGtzthermal pads arent magic, they have to be connected to a metal plate or heatsink to dissipate the heat, its not rocket science lol. What your doing is the same as applying thermal paste to the cpu and not mounting the cooler lmao. @@AdrianGtz Thermal pads are used to transfer heat like thermal paste not to dissipate it. Cooling vrams is a must to. Also gpu temps don’t consider vram temps. @AdrianGtz oh ok i just read them. however how do you dissipate the heat from the vrms ? There is no heatsink on your thermal pads.. your gpu is maybe thermal throttling because of lack of thermal dissipation. Check your vrm temps pls

@AdrianGtz I'm worried because I want to do the same cooling solution on my 3080TI. Your gpu doesn't have thermal sensors on vrm, that's why you probably missed the problem. But for my gpu, even with a thermal copper plate mod, it's damn hot on vrm and core..
i love this concept, it probobly works but I'd want something that covers the VRAM as well..
VRM and memory chip cooling?
Cant he Kraken fit on RTX 4000 series and AMD 7000 series as well?
whats the distance between the GPU processor and the VRM?
works on rtx 3060 12gb ?

When I turn my pc on the aio works but the fan connected to the kraken doesn’t, does it only spin under heavy use?
They typically start to spin when it’s under load, some many do sling for a second or two when started then stop until they have a load.
Have you checked it when under heavy load? Might want to check if it doesn’t, if not you might have a faulty fan

It should, you'll have to cut up the brackets like I did.

I'm more concerned about how your PC knows when to adjust fan speeds when both are CPU coolers.

It’s 25-30 degrees cooler over stock temps
