Yamaha FG800 demo

Yamaha has always been a consistent bet when it comes to acoustics and this one was no exception. I’ve already written half a dozen songs on it and used it live. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a budget, durable quality acoustic.

I tried the fg800 at the music store a few months ago and to my ear it sounded better than some much more expensive guitars which I have tried. I really loved it. I think it may have to do with the scalloped bracing that they use. I really want to get one! But first I may have to thin out the herd 😂

I have the FG830 with Rosewood back and sides. These guitars are the best guitars on the planet in this price range. The FG800 is a great starting point.

Yamaha is very good with their laminates. Using high quality lminates really helps the sound.

How did you buy this guitar in the black colorway? All the ones I've seen are only in the original color. Great playing btw.

My FG830 sounded betther than the D-28 I played at the Martin Factory tour. Could not believe it.

How is the fretboard? Not so much the action, but the maneuverability sliding up chords. I hear it's a bit dry, and not very smooth, but still great for what you're getting. What are your thoughts?

It’s actually really good. I need to oil it but naturally it’s still looks good and feels good. The frets were surprisingly good too.
