You could hear the music in 6-8 kms around the stage (check on Google maps - it was on Spartak subway station and you could hear it on Sokol s/s). A lot of drunk people all around, police fighting them, complete mess. But anyway thas was a historic moment to be in.
I saw them on this tour, incredible energy, I thought I'd better see them one more time, lmao, because I thought the band was nearing the end of a great career. Thank God I was wrong. Long may they reign as the greatest rock band of all time.

When the first bottles fell on their heads and two soldiers were taken away by an ambulance, angry law enforcement officers began to rush at anyone they did not like, beating people with their hands, feet and clubs. They stopped counting the crowd at 1.6 million. Shame this isn't as good a quality video as the Metallica one and doesn't show the crowds reaction either.
Chris Slade is a great drummer, but it's crazy how weak this version is compared to live versions with Phil, just because it's lacking that fucking metronomic sledgehammer groove that Phil has. Once Phil gets started on this song it's like an 18,000 ton freight train that's been set into motion. No hate to Slade, but Phil was always the only right drummer for AC/DC.
Someone needs to workout what the average amount of young skinny russians can fit in a square metre, and get an aerial photo and work out what area the audience covered
I was there. Incredible...

Only ACDC can close out a show after Metallica crushed that crowd. 700000 plus crowd 😮
Metallica obliterated everyone else that night. It was insane.

The fact they all.got away with this in 1991 soviet union is fantastic lol
This festival was because the soviet union fell
Verily.
They where all there at the request of the youth of the country who helped stand up to a coup when the Soviet Union was collapsing
