It is a great product, ( Im not a dealer), Only issue is.. Yes after explaining homeowner how the shingles rejuvenate, and doing a roof tune up they maybe up for it, so the issue is, that it does rejuvenate, but it takes a few weeks, months, to bring the shingles to look clean.. Homeowners want everything right away.. So that's where the guys that soft wash come in, they leave and the roof looks clean. ( excuse my English) BTW-- Mike Feazel is an outstanding guy, I have known him from years and he will always pick up the phone, whatever questions one may have.

You should have a roof washing first to remove the pollutants, grime, and algae for proper absorption.
This gives "wow factor" and gives the most value for the money spent; we Soft Wash before all our Rejuvenation treatments.

We all know that re-staining/treating your wood deck every few years will make it last longer. No salesman is needed to sell that. Letting it go to save money is not an option, most especially if there is a chance you could sell your home in the future. I'm all for hoping to avoid expeses, but life is life. Either your run from something and get fortunate (ethical?) to stick the next guy with the bill, or you maintain things that are expensive and important. Life IS that easy😊 Conditioning/treating makes a LOT of sense BUT, it comes down to two things... 1. Does it really work? If so, 2. What's the cost? 20% or less of replacement makes sense the further you go south of the number. Above that, you need to have a reason - like knowing you are going to sell in 3-5 years and NOT wanting your roof to start showing a lot of wear. If you wait, then you will pay for a new roof one way or the other (either by lowering your sale price, or getting a lowball offer), but you wont get to benefit from it. Like my wife says, if we are going to remodel, do it now so we can actually enjoy it, not just so our house will sell. I wont make that mistake twice.

Interesting! I'm a roofer of 29yrs and haven't heard of spraying oil on asphalt shingles. I'm skeptical... The speaker seems like a nice enough man. I wasn't impressed by all that over-spay they had flying all over the places. It might be a good idea, but only within a certain area of deterioration. Sure, an oil can probably slow the process a little, but it can't repair the damages. There is a point when a roof is getting too-far-gone and spending money on this oil can't change that. Hopefully this company tells people that. I wonder if this plant oil is compatible with the petrol oil in asphalt shingles(some things won't mix well)

I'm the lead project manager for seamless systems inc and no is the answer to your question because it's nothing more than a soft wash roof cleaning. It doesn't do everything it claims to do. It doesn't add years to the life of ANY shingle, once the granules are gone they're gone, it doesn't fix bruising or cracked shingles. The only thing it does is clean the roof and add possibly some pliability (which does nothing as far as restoring) as it allegedly claims. It's exactly like all the anti-aging creams you see out there that allegedly claim to stop or slow aging , no different. All the claims they allegedly make they use "science" or paid endorsements to back. No shingle manufacturer will back or support their claims. No architect, engineer or insurance company will either! With all that said I implore you to do your research and contact certainteed, tamko, owens corning, atlas or ANY roofing manufacturer along with architect firms, roof consultants or insurance corporations and ask them do they support or back the claims they make. Companies like this are making millions off of people because the people aren't doing their research. Roofmax themselves as a company doesn't even stand behind the warranty and make the contractor do it so as to put that burden on the contractor instead of themselves!! That should honestly be the first red flag!! Hope this helps answer your questions and why I explained it in a way regular non experienced homeowners can understand. I'm using facts not "science" to support what i say.

What's not to like? Another option for a complicated roof like that. A new roof isn't some safe bet when there are valley, dormers, and chimneys and stuff. You could end up with 15 goons making a mess and cutting every corner. Or you get 3 to 5 good installers taking a week. This technology could improve over the years too.

Somewhat interested but roofs now have lifetime warranties so spending $3000 at 18 years may not make sense, however I can see the rational for extending the roof 5 to 10 years..I’d possibly consider coating the south and west sides since there’s about a 5 year aging factor on those sides, in Los Angeles and 5 years later possibly coat the entire roof…Will it stop granular loss? Will it create a slippery surface when it rains like silicone..I’ll admit the more I watched the more I was impressed…

To some extent yes. If there's already a bunch of dust and debris that's been blown between shingles then it won't work as well. Also for shingles 20-25 yrs old the more obvious concern is often granule loss. Too much granule loss and Roof Maxx becomes a wasted investment. Yes you reintroduce oils into the shingles, but there's nothing protecting the new oils from UV rays.

The roof is still only good for they say another 5 years. The cost to have your roof last another 5 years vs the cost of putting a new one on and lasting 25-30 years. I’m replacing my roof every time that will fix everything and I don’t have to worry about coming up with $5,000 to put new roof on in 5 years. An OC Platinum installer installing Duration, using at least 4 OC products in the install, will charge me close to $20k with tax in my market ($$$$). On average the roof should last let’s say 20 years before any really noticeable wear, granule loss or drying out. That comes out to about $1000 a year. If Roof Maxx comes out 2 or 3 times for $3000 a treatment every 5 years then I can get 10-15 more years for $6k-$9k it can be cost effective. As a roofer, this is my argument. Would you rather pay for an oil solution? Which would maybe extend your roof five years and then have to pay for a more expensive replacement in the future? (Cost of materials and labor will 100% be more expensive in 5 years) OR pay for a replacement now and save the extra money you would have spent (for oil solution and more expensive replacement) for other repairs and upgrades on your home? You decide!

    @shaneMcguire1981 Před 2 lety +7

Your Roof will last 5 more years that is good. The customer should be informed that their roof will be much more expensive in 5 years. So 1 argument would be the customer will have to pay more for roof max and have additional overages when they replace the roof. So if a customer is financially prepared to replace the roof they probably should. If they are not then they should consider roofmax. People shouldn't have to put on more than 1 roof in their life. Unless they buy a house early in life and stay in the same house in the same house for a long time. What is not common.

This is a great point that I think should be discussed by Dmitry. This is already something I talk about with homeowners when their roof has 2-3 years left but they are financially secure enough to replace it now. Material prices alone have seen drastic increases over the last 2-3 years, and when you factor cost of living increases that must be factored into labor pricing, 2-3 years can have a drastic effect on the final price, let alone another 5 years.

I guess there is your argument to be made. True. On the other hand, it's inevitable to escape a new roof replacement at some point, number one issue is affordability, like with anything, if pockets were deep enough with the majority of consumers that own properties and have this type of roof then replacement price won't be a problem for them at any time for any quality of roofing material they should choose, ( Asphalt Shingles) but that is never the case. There is always going to be an end life of this type of product be it 15, 20, 30, 40, years. (depends on many factors) When the shingles truly fail, a price will have to be paid at that point no matter what the costs are at that time. 25 year to lifetime shingles (warranty) are unheard of today in the industry (there are some exceptions )because manufacturers are making these roofing products cheaper and cheaper. (and while they are making more and more money) Over the last 5-10 years they transferred the burden of the faulty shingles on the insurance companies to pay out in claims for a product that won't last as long as the warranties say they will. Now, insurance companies are passing that same burden on the homeowners to bear the cost, whether through premiums, high deductibles, letters of cancelation, or premature roof replacements. (10-15 years +/-) Let's say a forty-year shingle on a roof today only lasted 13 years, the homeowner just paid Ex. 20k to get a product and was told that it should get close to 40 years of life, but now they find out it has to be replaced at only 13 years old. (without Roof Maxx.) Today prices have gone up ( materials plus labor), so now a new shingle roof cost 25K. In that 13-year time frame, the homeowner will have paid 45k. Now with a Roof Maxx treatment, for the same 13 years, the cost would be about +/- 8k. Being able to extend the shingle life 5,10, or even 15 more years. (it the roof qualifies and for the full 3 treatments to be determined every 5 years.) makes it more sensible while allowing the homeowner time to built a nest egg for when the roof does need to be replaced. Other than a physical event happening to the roof most shingles or roofs fail because of the lack of oils, they simply dry out which causes them to get brittle and cause these things to happen. Thermal shock ( expansion and contraction caused by sharp temperature changes) This can cause thermal cracking, (which can cause splitting and leaking or have weak points and make them vulnerable to ripping or tearing off in high winds.) Seal strip failure, ( holds one shingle to another to help avoid uplift of the shingle) Loss of granular adhesion (protection from the sun), Permeability, which helps the shingle absorb less water from rains and melting snow (oil and water don't mix), and better flexibility of the shingle in general. Each homeowner has to make that decision for themselves. Get longer life out their current roof( if the roof qualifies it can help up to 80%-90% of homeowners) Need to replace (12%-14% won't qualify) and people that don't care (3%- 6%) because they have the funds to replace at whatever time they want no matter how much life could be left or the condition the roof is in.

What concerns me is that it's made from Soybean oil, which is what auto wiring harnesses are made of. Sounds pretty good, but unfortunately it attracts Wood Rats or Tree Rats. They chew the wiring & nest in it & if not caught in time find their way into your car following where ever the wiring goes. Spraying mint oil repels them from your wiring for a bit, but has to be reapplied regularly I was lucky that I caught them because of the windshield washer fluid leaked from them chewing the lines. The dealership said I saved thousands by catching it early. Obviously when exposed to the weather on shingles you'd be spraying mint oil constantly. As it is anywhere theres water, pet food, chicken coops, fruit shrubs & trees attract Rats, but they won't chew on your roof unless they smell soybean.

The tar paper itself is NOT made of soybean oil. And likely it is NOT tasty or easy to borrow in as it is exposed / not under a car hood. Regarding in your car, is spraying mint oil to repels them the only solution you've heard of if a component is made of soybeans ? My other thought is that perhaps one might replace the wiring harness with one made out of a different material. Anyone with thoughts or actual experience with this?

I bet it costs more than a deductible. Lol. Would be great to sell your home and say you did something to it but if the buyer has a lick of sense they will ask how old the roof is. Anything close to 20 years and it will probably need to be replaced in the next decade. Will do some research on it but not sold quite yet. Would have to know pricing per sq

I'm a roofer in Texas and a dealer in North Houston for Green Shingles Roof Rejuventation. Not trying to put down Roof Max, but Greener Shingles is far superior to Roof Max ratio and oil content being sprayed. Green Shingles works as advertised. On all the roof treated (50 + homes last year) we have always been far less then the Homeowner's Deducable! That being said, if your roof is damaged and insurance will cover (and you can afford the deductible or out pocket if not covered by ins.) always get a new roof! This product is designed for the individuals that need more time out of existing shingles (selling home) or can't afford the deductible. This treatment will give you the peace of mind and is a more affordable, greener alternative to replacement.

Hi there! We have a lot of really great dealers in the state of Florida who are thriving! Roof Maxx works closely with multiple national insurance companies to gain broad acceptance of the product application as a solution to overcome policy cancellation and non-renewal notices. Our dealers have sprayed countless jobs with the approval of various insurers on a job-by-job basis. We are also engaging the insurance regulatory bodies and political representatives to offer a solution that benefits all stakeholders.

You should have a roof washing first to remove the pollutants, grime, and algae for proper absorption.
This gives "wow factor" and gives the most value for the money spent; we Soft Wash before all our Rejuvenation treatments.

So I called Roof Maxx and got a very curt lady on the phone who finally said the cost is approximately 20% of a new roof and the treatment lasts for 5 years. Also, it can be done only 3 times. That means in 15 years you will still need to replace the roof.
If the cost is 20% and lasts for 5 years of a 20 year roof, ( 5X20%=100%) why would anyone spend any money on a "band aid" solution when, if you do the math, you can replace the roof at the same cost and have a BRAND NEW ROOF???? This sounds like gobbledygook all the way around.
