- Seeing photos of vintage Mercier bikes in pink with the white decals, I really wanted to use that inspiration and build a fixed gear Mercier.
After searching eBay I found a Mercier frame in my size with Tange forks for £70 and I was set. Once it arrived it went straight to the powder coaters, East Coast Powder Coating in Hull where it was shot blasted and done in this great pink.
I then built it up on a budget with a mix of new and used parts from eBay. Once it was built I wanted to take it out for a relaxed normal ride, nothing crazy, just out in the sun riding bikes having a good time.
I love the simplicity of a fixed gear and in my opinion old steel road bikes with gears aren't that fun to ride, with this I can jump on and just pedal and I'm all good.
Thanks for watching. - Zábava
Absolutely love your builds. You inspire me to start building my first fixie now!
SJM IS THE BOSS......One of the best restored youtubers. Congratulations
Great build, the ending of the video was so relaxing to watch!
Nice to see the build process, and having to ride the bike after! Not many youtubers do this. Kudos to you good Sir! 💯💯
Nice build , there's something esotericallly pleasing on the eye about a stripped down bike 👍
Usually I'm not impress with rose bicycles, but this is fenomenal.Good job man.
Super inspired by your videos! Thank you so much
Great to see your tools also getting better from your 1st video!

Once those decals were on I would have clearcoated the frame and seal them in.But its a lovely bike all the same!
I'm currently restoring my Peugeot 1979 PY10 CP. I hope that it will end up like this.👌
Wow. This looks great. Would love to see a list of parts you’ve used/bought.
I would like to know what crankset that is.

Great content!!!🔥🔥
Dope Af Bruv Stay Dangerous 🤘🏽
I love rose bicycles. I wonder though if the stickers will hold? Is there a good reason not to put them under the laquer?
Nice town
awesome build how much does powder coating cost in you area ?
Hey dude, I'm currently in Hull and just about to build up a Dolan fxe. I was wondering if you know of any regular fixed gear rides/groups around the area.
What did you drop the heated bolt into to make it black? Oil?

Hey! Im in the same situation as you right now - which wheels did you use? Did you had to use any spacers to fit it?
The problem with those straps,is that in the tricky situation, your leg can stuck on the pedal, and you can like seriously hurt urself! It happened to me once,I nearly killed myself!
LoL
Great and beautiful bike!😊
Yeah that doesn’t happen if you know what you’re doing and don’t panic
More please
🙏🏻👌

What size the rim?
Cuando saque el brazo para voltear tiene que ver si hay carros detrás si no puede haber un carro y se puede llevar su brazo.
Where'd you get the decals?
How much weight it is ?
What are those decals called?
Yo bro the dropout isn't it dangerous ?

Riding a bicycle on UK roads without any brakes is illegal. The fixed hub counts as 1 brake; a UK bicycle must have 2 brakes for use on the road. Hence the fact that traditionally, fixed-gear bikes would have a front caliper brake.
Thanks for watching Sev, please subscribe for more fixie builds!
@@SJMCycles Already done!
This is the situation in most countries, as far as I'm aware. Each wheel must have its own form of braking mechanism. Police never seem that bothered unless you're involved in an accident; in which case, you may be held at least part responsible if you were riding fixed without a front brake.
