  • This is an in depth tool bag tour. In it, I explain a little bit about my job, and I talk about why I love this Hercules tote so much. I try to give a good overview of all my most used tools from Klein, Knipex, Channellock, Milwaukee, Wera, Dewalt, Stanley, Vaco, Harbor Freight, and plenty of others.

I started out with the little Hyper Tough tool bag from Walmart. It only cost me $22.
I outgrew it within about 6 months, but I i kept carrying it. I had it about a year, before i discovered that i could carry my tools on my back.
I was looking and looking, and i saw a Veto at one of the HVAC supply stores, but i wanted you try a backpack out before i made a real investment. So, i bought a Kobalt backpack from Lowe's, and it has been a real lifesaver.
However, I'm learning that no matter how much i want to have all my tools with me everywhere i go, it's impractical.
So, i have gone and gotten me a Chevy pickup truck with a lift gate on it, but i need to find a toolbox to go on the back.
Nobody told me that working in the trades would result in tool storage issues. Capacity and security seen to be the two main problems. That and not forgetting your tools when you finish a job.

Wanted to come back to this video give credit to you. I got one of these roughly 4-5 months ago and I absolutely love mine. Fits perfectly in my low profile toolbox in my truck, and carries most of the main hand tools I need. I have it absolutely slammed and don’t have a ripped seam anywhere.

Wicked man, you have a real honest approach.
Knipex plier wrench 180mm & 250mm compliment UK electrical work mainly with glanding SWA and accessing bushes, just in case my UK homebrews are responsible for making them seem like an all rounder. I also have 8" Bahco adjustable and Swivel head ratchet wrenches set for other purposes.
My hand tools alone are in the thousands, but some of my favourites are the cheap practical stuff. Even my bags and task lights aren't top end. It's about what works for you and means not having to worry about them getting nicked, lost or broken.
The only shout out I'd make for you is, see if you can get Wiha Electricians Hammer on a deal or used, I know German gear is pricey in the US. You might like acetate handles for screwdrivers but on a hammer it's best to have some shock absorption. It's lightweight and gets in tight spots and the end cap is handy when tapping soft materials that the steel head would damage.

I gotta agree about the pliers wrench. They seem like they’d be amazing. But they are not worth the price. I prefer channellock 415s for smooth jaw and they’re 1/4 or the price

While they are bulkier, I prefert the T-handle hex keys. I like the ones with the ball on the long end and the short end is straight. I keep 5 of them in my bag because they are used often while the rest go on two large janitor keyrings and stay in the truck.
