  • Both Mike and Henry have been riding the RockShox ZEB for several weeks now and have many great things to say about the beefier, 38mm stanchion enduro fork from RockShox.
    Grab a beverage, pull up a lawn chair, and hang out with us as we leave the funky tech specs behind and purely chat about how the ZEB rides on the trail.

      Thanks for the quick delivery of my Zeb from your webbsssystore. This fork is bananas.
      Edit: Yes, the video may seem salesy. However, what they say is absolutely true. I'm coming from a 2019 Fox Factory 36 (Grip2) 160mm. I'm 205lb ready to ride. I spent over 100 rides trying to get this to behave. It took me one ride at the base settings and everything about this fork is better than my 36. More sensitive, more supple, stronger/more supportive, confidence inspiring, so smooth. With the 36, I was constantly fighting the fork in chunky turns as I could feel what I now believe to be bushing bind, lower leg pressure buildup, air spring stiction, etc.
      YMMV... but this fork... it's excellent.

    Great job guys. Sounds salesy but ZEB does just exactly what you guys say. Thing is epic. Had a 38 for a hot minute. Great fork but it started creaking almost right away, so sent back for warranty and picked up a ZEB. Comparing the two, ZEB has better small bump than 38, and matches 38 everywhere else. It’s also lighter and cheaper. And doesn’t creak. YMMV

    Looking forward to trying one in comparison to a 38. Having ridden DVO for so long, like Henry, it'll be interesting to compare the suppleness on the first part of the stroke (being OTT) on both the Zeb & 38, along with the overall stiffness comparison to an Onyx's 36mm stanchions.

    Right on! Took the words right out of my mouth! Interested to see the comparison. From what i can tell and from who ive talked too about the 38 the feelings are kind of MEH about it VS the previous 36 which is surprising to me since the ZEB out of the box is a massive upgrade at least i think so!

    Do you think the large airchamber could be too progressive. After watching the 38 teardown on vorsprungs channel he noticed they put a tone of work into making the fork linear aswell as allowing air from the lowers to flow into the uppers to prevent that harsh spike you can get when bottoming out.

    I wish you would do more than make a sales pitch. Compare it to Fox 38 and Onyx SC, and this vid would be different than the other 500 vids that just tells the same stuff about composure and stiffness and how good it feels and looks. The only good vid about the Fox 38 I have seen is the Vorsprung one because they actually dare to say something slightly unflattering and it's what makes it real and interesting.

    • @shanecurnyn4612
      @shanecurnyn4612 Před 3 lety +2

      I’ve got a ZEB and a 38. Everything they said about the ZEB is spot on even if it sounds like a sales pitch. 38 is a very confidence inspiring fork but doesn’t match the ZEB on small bump/plushness... and mine started creaking right away. Creaking aside, both are great but ZEB smoothes out chatter better, is lighter, cheaper, and easier to set up. Plus, if you add the rockshox torque caps to your hub the ZEB gets noticeably even more sharp through chunky corners.

    Would you say that this can be set up as progressive as a Lyrik? I have a 2018 Lyrik RCT3 with 2 tokens right now. Three tokens was too harsh, but I wish I had just a tad more bottom out resistance.
    I personally like my suspension really soft off the top and then rather progressive through the mid to end stroke, so there's a little bit left for larger drops. My understanding was that the new air shaft is mostly targeting mid stroke. How does this fork differ as far as being progressive?

    • @Yhigma
      @Yhigma Před 3 lety +1

      EDIT, I think also because the RCT3 doesn't have high speed compression, having a little more high speed compression might help with this issue. I might try to get my fork reshimmed first
