- This clip shows the closer to the ITV News At 5:30 on Friday 3rd and Monday 6th September 2010, followed by the Opening and closing to the last ever GMTV, they only told viewers in the last hour of the programme it was the final edition. GMTV ends with a remix of the 1993 theme being played out for one last time, followed by a promo for Daybreak. The next clip sees the opener and closer to Daybreak.
In the end it didn't go that well for Daybreak, Adrian and Christine were booted off after 15 months, the show got another major relaunch on Monday 3rd September 2012, almost 2 years from the initial relaunch, with new hosts Matt Barbet, Ranvir Singh, Aled Jones and Lorraine Kelly, with the new Daybreak being very GMTV, probably how this relaunch should have been. All this change however wasn't enough to save Daybreak, and in early 2014 it was announced that Daybreak was to be axed. The final edition of Daybreak aired on Friday 25th April 2014, unlike GMTV it went out with a whimper. It was replaced by Good Morning Britain on Monday 28th April 2014, as it stands to date the ratings haven't improved at all since the original Daybreak was introduced in September 2010.
Recorded from ITV HD in the Granada region. - Zábava
Daybreak currently holds a record of ITV's shortest-lived breakfast show.
Yep 😂. Sometimes I wonder if I just dreamt it up
Daybreak - made TV-am look like a television masterpiece
why did ITV pour money down the drain by keeping Chiles and Bleakly on the screen for so long? It's a modern day mystery!
I watched that first episode, for 5 minutes, and then switched to Breakfast on the other side. I always think the show failed because the show was off, in general. Adrian and Christine were great on a magazine show like The One Show, and that's how people saw them, so that failed for them. People were used to GMTV's formula, but Daybreak didn't have one, so that failed for it. The studio was very cold and sterile. The BBC Breakfast Studio had reds, oranges, and yellows, as did GMTV, but Daybreak was quite dark and purple, and that darkness wasn't helped in the winter months, so that failed. The show wasn't bad, but it was off, so failed.
Big mistake ITV, BIG MISTAKE!!!
My grandma was a GMTV watcher when when me and my sister came over throughout the 2000's and afterwards, me and my sister would either watch CBBC, CiTV or even Nicktoons TV. I told my grandma on what happened to GMTV and it was replaced with Daybreak with a dark and purple set, whereas BBC's Breakfast had a mixture of reds, oranges and yellows so by then my grandma flipped over to the other side for BBC's Breakfast. Adrian and Christine was a bad choice for presenters of Daybreak, then they left the programme in 2011 and then a 2012 relaunch with new presenters wasn't enough to save Daybreak.
So by 2014, ITV announced that Daybreak would be axed in favour of Good Morning Britain, and the ratings haven't been improved at all. ITV will never learn from their mistakes.
I can’t remember daybreak. I love the intro though.

Goodbye, GMTV! It was fun while it lasted!
Love that they Use the Original Music in Their Final Days of GMTV
I remember when the first time i saw daybreak i was mind blown! I said to my nan "whats going on with gmtv?"
I can't believe that Hurricane Earl made international headlines.
Want to know what my husband and I did during the storm? Buy new phones. And apparently everyone else had the same idea.
What exactly went wrong for Daybreak? As far as I can tell nothing major changed between the 3 different morning shows.
You can’t see the stark contrast? It went from a warm, inviting morning programme to waking up to the dark, dingey, deep purple studio and Adrian Chiles mug greeting you first thing. I know which I’d pick lol
Run Jackie you have 15mins before London local News!
09:07 nice of her to call her newborn baby Omelette. Very breakfast themed x

Great
ITV should be sued for ruining my childhood.
I was 7 when it happened and unfortunately, I was unaware of the axing, that same Monday, the day began as normal, I was hyped to see Andrew and Kate on the red sofa, while getting ready for school. I turned on the TV, and the horrors I saw. What I saw was there were no GMTV in the listings and I was crying in tears of sadness and anger. I was pissed *BIG TIME* when I found out the horrifying truth.
Ever since that day, I’ve been vowing for vengeance for GMTV’s legacy and anticipating the cancellation of Daybreak, until it happened not after 3 and a half years later. GMB didn’t do any justice for me, yes it brought back Ben, Kate, Eamonn, John and Richard. But without the red sofa, the gigantic CGI Sun on a blue water background and that theme tune just feels... off, empty and soul-less for all the wrong reasons, it doesn’t help the fact now that twat Piers Whoregan now co-hosts most of the week, has been *CONSTANTLY getting attention every day.*

Difficult question at 7:08 how longs century? At least the GMTV four of them at least, where given three possible answers.
100 years
They'd have better left it alone and revamped GM-TV. Who was going to listen to the black country accent at 6am. It's no wonder it was blink and you'd miss it.
Daybreak is rubbish :/
