In 1902 it may have had an effect on Mount Pelee about 200 miles north. 2 days after St Vincent's La Soufriere on May 8th Pelee went off back in 1902.

Strange. Seems like they're linked somehow as Mount Pelee is acting up again.

All volcanoes in the caribbean are linked.we are all a chain of islands.

While the forces that created the volcanoes and drive their activity are related..i.e. plate tectonics, to say that one volcano influences the activity of the other isn't exactly scientifically correct. The two volcanoes La Soufriere and Mt. Pelee may share similar eruption patterns or history but that's all coincidence. One does not exert any influence over the other.

@@troyeustace1021 when I was studying Geography I was taught that when one volcano erupts the others near by will do the same because the explosion creates eartquakes and tsunamis which in turn triggers other volcanoes. If u look back at history when la soufriere in st. Vincent erupted back in 1979 mt.pelee in martinique erupted sometime later. Now studies show that if la soufriere erupts and it will because its in zone orange which means its giving off activity, Mt. Pelee ( martinique) kick em jenny under water volcano located in Grenada and other volcanoes close by will give off activity.

@@seidigriffith2690 Mount Pelée didn't erupt in 1979 but in 1929, 27 years after eruption of 1902. I live in Saint-Pierre Martinica. For the moment, we don't see or feel any changes but something is happening in depth that's sure....

I hope he was nowhere near the volcano when it erupted. They’re monitoring it and that will keep people safe.

When I visited there was a large lake and the sides going down were rocky and you could slip very easily ,it took a long while to hike it and I decided not to go down to the lake area
