    The amount of volcanoes going off this year i think the planet is waking up what onenext is going to go off 🤔

    • @larryjimbob
      @larryjimbob Před 3 lety +2

      I said decades ago that the increase in the frequency of earthquakes, and some of the global temperature rise, was due to oil reservoirs being depleted.
      Oil rises from these reservoirs through fissures in rock lubricating the earth's tectonic plates. Without this oil the earth's plates build up heat and tension through friction. This causes warming and large build ups of tension waiting to suddenly release.
      Perhaps I'll be proved correct one day? 😕😊

    • @scotthenderson292
      @scotthenderson292 Před 3 lety +4

      @@larryjimbob the problem is that it is very difficult to prove any trends. The plate tectonic movements have neen active for billions of years. And extracting oil from the ground has only been a substantial process for around a century. And while there are places that have thorough records of volcanoes and earthquakes, there are many more places that lack any substantial records. The records we do have probably can only cover a few centuries. So it's hard to establish a trend with the limited data we have.
      In my opinion it seems unlikely that oil reservoirs slowed down tectonic activity. Remember that these continental plates are dozens of miles thick. Seems unlikely that even large quanities of oil would be able to slow down such an enormous process.
      But that's just my guess. It's worth testing your theory for sure
