    I was bad at science as a kid, not due to lack of curiosity but because I have trouble focusing on things that are not immediately engaging. I'm shocked with how interesting and clear these explanations are! I feel like this really makes sense. I wish science was taught this way at school.

      Tronald Dump: I bought the Universe. It started out as a seed and I hired Mexican gardeners to water it daily. It grew up to the awesome real estate it is today. Great real estate.     I am a student pilot who needs to understand about gyroscopes for flight instruments and for how propellers behave. This is the only video out of the dozen or so I watched that actually taught me why gyroscopes behave the way they do, and it did so in an entertaining and engaging fashion. Thank you Michael!

    I actually heard about helicopter rotors (and gyroscopes in general) "feeling" forces 90 degrees after the force was applied a while back and was very confused. Turns out I already knew why that happens, from doing orbital maneuvers in ksp. I just never thought about connecting the dots between orbital mechanics and helicopters.
    I love physics.

    What makes this stuff so great is that Vsauce doesn't OVER explain things. They focus on the simple straightforward explanation and repeat it a couple times. Reenforcing it. Pushing you to that "aha" moment. That's why it's better to keep explanations short and to the point. Instead of going on and on and on and on and on and on and on until the person is like "what was this person talking about?"

    The Coriolis Effect is my personal favorite QED with flat-earthers, because it's not some abstract thing. You can literally go out in the desert with a rifle and watch as your bullets land in different places depending on which direction you're shooting.

      If I remember right I think in WW1 they actually had to take it into account when firing long range artillery like the Paris Guns.

    Best Disc Golf explanation of disc "stability" ratings/attitude, ever! When thrown, the disc should be relatively flat, if the leading edge is higher, air hit the bottom front more, disc leans = overstable disc. And, visa versa.

    Finally! My questions about spinny things have been answered!
    This was why fidget spinners would have weird twisty forces when you tried to spin it perpendicular to its rotation.
    And this is why tops work.
    And this is why bikes only stand while moving.
    I am happy now.

      The bikes one is quite a bit more complex, but no less fascinating. The wheels have a small amount of gyroscopic effect, but it is not the only thing going on. There are a couple videos on here about it.

    Think it was Scott Manley who was talking about a Russian rocket with launch issues. After a little while, some sort of surprise abort ejection?
    A monitoring system was active and monitoring gyroscopes. After sitting on the pad for a bit, the earth rotated enough where the computer, reading the gyroscopes, thought the craft was tilting too much and aborted (though relative to gravity it was straight out, or up).
