I used my 940-2 (G10 version) for about a year then sent it off to Transparent Knives for a regrind. It's been nearly 1.5 years with heavy use. The performance difference is hard to put into words; it's kinda like breathing through a straw with the stock blade... I haven't bought a new knife since the upgrade. And when I do think about buying a new knife, I automatically factor in the cost of a regrind. Yes, it's that good. I absolutely love my 940 and may just get the 940-1 have it sent directly to Brian at Transparent Knives.
I just became a fan when I got my first Osborne, a 940-2 which I only got last month (08/2023). Earlier this month, I saw the Blade HQ exclusive you mentioned, the 940BK-2004 for sale online. I purchased that along with an aluminum 945. The 940s are the smoothest knives in my collection. Going back to M4 940, I'm just wondering why is it still available for sale brand new.when it was released way back in 2020. Is it still in production?

Mines action felt like junk out of the box. Pivot screw needed massive adjustment. Then my mini freek was so bad I had to send it in for warranty service. Benchmades QC is abysmal.

Love my 940-1. It was my first expensive knife. Have a handful now in it’s price range. Recently picked up the AD20.5 it’s a great knife! Good review

I had to retire mine to special occasions. 940 will always be the knife that showed me how good a knife should be.

Is this lighter than the carbon fiber 535-3 bugout?
I am not sure? I don’t have a 535-3. It’s 2.5 ounces, same as the Bugout 535BK-4. Hope this helps…

Yes, it is toothy, agreed. I like my current mirror edge, better, as it keeps it a little slicey. Edge retention is great, for that working edge.
