    I found screw in stab holes on my old black widow mini 😮 there was also extra switch spots at the bottom for different layouts, the only thing in the way is the soldered on switches.
    Also flipping up the feet changes the sound if y'all are into that kind of sound.

    Rollers are way more responsive than knobs, in my opinion. Now that a mainstream brand finally catching up with acceptable stock quality, the smaller/Boutique brands should not underestimate the possibilities of market intervention.

  • @kaeroseon
    @kaeroseon Před 8 měsíci +1

    now imagine if they drop an aftermarket aluminum bottom and higher quality keycaps (like their old pbt keycaps upgrade but a little thicker and actually supports this layout), that would genuinely be pretty cool

    Yo Andy, the Tofu65 V2 yellow color is out, can you make a video trying to push this board's sound to its absolute limit, or make it sounds as good as you could.

  • @ImOnMy116
    @ImOnMy116 Před 8 měsíci +2

    at 4:31, are you referring to the bolsa supply corsas? I would say those are definitely leaning towards a more light to medium tactility vs. something like a U4T, Durock Sunflower, or Zealios based on my own experience.
    Really enjoyed your take on the board, definitely impressed by the things Razer’s offering here vs. what we’d get from one of the big gaming peripheral companies even a year ago.

    • @AndyVNguyen
      @AndyVNguyen  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Corsa yes. Closer to medium than light. I lubed the legs to make it lighter. U4t is big bump compared to corsa for sure. I just got sucked into corsa hype and thought it’d be lighter

      @@AndyVNguyenSorry it was heavier than you’d hoped, it’s definitely heavier than the SP Star Meteor Oranges I have on hand. I’m a huge fan of those switches, though they’re probably only for the very light tactile folks. I don’t have browns on hand right now, but I’ve heard some say the meteor oranges are lighter than browns.

    I had just bought the sigma 18-35 and came across your video where you were comparing it to the 12-35 on the gh5. You mention that youve had it for 6months and wasnt the most stable after 6 months. When I went to your profile I was expecting travel reels or wedding videos. LOL bruh you got into that keyboard game 😁 Thats dope. And i see you moved the Sony a7IV! TRADER! come back to Panny when we finally get proper autofocus and low light solved 😂All jokes aside I wish I had seen your other video before I had bought the setup with the viltrox/sigma because now I'm traveling to Japan and you mention dont buy for run and gun haha.

      @AndyVNguyen  Před 8 měsíci

      Lmao what’s up! Yeah a7IV has been a beast. I saw Panasonic finally caught up but how are the colors? My wife didn’t like her portraits with Panasonic color science lol. Yeah the sigma 18-35 1.8 looks great but it’s very much a manual focus lens imo. And it’s HUGE. Need light and autofocus for run and gun!

    I do like my RGB but as a feel guy, I like tactile for typing but not for gaming. Some of the heavier tactiles like a 60+g switch makes my fingers tired in longer gaming sessions. I do like the feedback of a softer bottom out even in games. I know some people may say it's cursed but I think flex cut is quite comfy if you're not a ultra competitive gamer.

  • @wolfhe-him4420
    @wolfhe-him4420 Před 8 měsíci

    Its stiff typing, but i like this board because its plastic on the bottom. I made and put in some Cthulu switches and that sound is so so so good here, all cause of that plastic. I have some mid tier boards like the sonnet, but this is still in my rotation cause of that sound. I just wished the Cthulu switches let in more light so i could enjoy that RGB.

    Don't bother buying one, I bought one and tried modding it too. In the end , it was still piece of turd sounding board due to cheap plastic bottom case, its stablizer was more than fine tho. Razer orange was mediocre at best, no idea there was a hype for it.

    Dude, this keyboard clearly sounds very supbar compared to the typical mechanical keyboards you've been reviewing. Sure, it's a "gaming" keyboard, and it's not an ethusiast keyboard, but this thing is also $230 and it doesn't even come with wireless. The mic and sound recording doesn't lie.

    • @AndyVNguyen
      @AndyVNguyen  Před 8 měsíci +2

      You missed the point

    • @KenoticMuse
      @KenoticMuse Před 8 měsíci

      @@AndyVNguyen I think your point is that "Hey! Big peripheral companies are finally listening to the enthusiast keyboard community!" Is that right? Well, yeah, they have. But are you judging them based on the same criteria of sound and typing experience that you've done for all other keyboards in the community, or are you giving it a pass because "it's a big company that finally listen"? For god sake, it sounds so bad that you have to squeeze a piece of foam wristrest next to it.

    • @AndyVNguyen
      @AndyVNguyen  Před 8 měsíci +1

      It doesn’t sound as bad as you describe.. but you have a pre disposition to hate it. Id use the razer orange build for sure. I’d use that in its current form. The linear build isnt as good. I’d use it in its stock form. Yes, $230 but has keycaps and stabilizers. I just did a review and recalled that it was $189 for a zoom65 ee olivia edition with similar configuration and that was preorder from China, with $50-$60 shipping on top . This is instock from domestic stores with no shipping and has better keyboard modifications than what the zoom65 did. So this is a big step because razer can provide what meletrix and qk is currently providing, without GB waits and international shipping. And the ability to return it to the store or have quick warranty response.
      Either way, I record the sound tests all the same for people to make their own decisions. I’m actually leaning more towards the asus over this razer for full stock sound test. Razer is still a bit behind iquinix level offerings but they can catch up quickly. Ironically the co star style stabilizers sound way better factory lubed than regular plate mount stabilizers.

    • @KenoticMuse
      @KenoticMuse Před 8 měsíci

      @@AndyVNguyen No, Andy, please don't shoot the messenger. I don't have a "pre disposition to hate it". If anything, I DESPERATELY want to love this keyboard, because I've been shopping around for a mechanical keyboard with decent wireless connection for games, and also decent acoustics. I've found a handful of options, and the best of them so far is definitely the Asus Azoth. I WISH that the Razer BlackWidow V4 could be another option for the me consider. I was also excited for Logitech's PRO X TKL, but sadly it also doesn't check the box in the "acoustics" and "feel" department. I know I can definitely mod these keyboards to make their acoustic performance "tolerable", but I don't want the acoustic and feel to be just tolerable if I'm spending over $200. The two tectonic plates of the "enthusiast community" and "gaming community" are colliding, and the landscape is changing fast. Some recent offerings, such as the Azoth definitely hits the mark for both communities really well, while offering from Razer and Logitech are laggards. I wish you would actually cover the context of how this Razer product fits into the larger changing landscape, rather than just giving it the participation trophy of "hey, they are trying".
      You bring up some good points about availability, and the inflexibility of group buys. However, there are keyboards like the Cidoo v75 and couple of offerings from Keychron that people can buy from Amazon today, with two days shipping, and no hassle 30 days return, IF they're ok with not having the fastest possible wireless connection. Scott from Keybored tested the connection speed of the Cidoo v75, and its wireless is very close to the Azoth, in addition to costing only $150. And if you're also ok with not having an easy return policy, then there are options like the Monsgeek M1W and AJAZZ AC064, which are also attempts to bring together "full aluminum body" and "wireless connectivity". The landscape is changing quickly with lots of offerings for people interested in the intersection between gaming and enthusiast.
      You're right that the mic and sound recording are there for people to hear for themselves, and I appreciate the sound test.

    • @rickyspanish645
      @rickyspanish645 Před 7 měsíci

      This keyboard isn't a bad deal at $190 and most hardcore gamers prefer wired.
      If you need wireless you can look at Steelseries Apex Pro Wireless 2023, Asus Azoth, or Nuphy Field75.
