- From the Laughing Place Archives, it's a full show of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire - Play It!" at Disneyland Resort's Disney California Adventure theme park.
Oh my gosh the memories! Loved Mark (and Elise) as hosts. I spent SO much time in this attraction when I was a tween/teen and loved every minute of it! (Also I'm such a huge dork that I noticed the cues for 2,000 and up in the second game are all one question ahead of where they should be XD)
I remember that little video at the beginning with Regis philbin. That was when the primetime version was still airing. When the prime time version was discontinued they removed that short video. Probably for good reason as it took up valuable playing time from the people. Still the playing time was short about 25 minutes per show; wish it was longer and gave more opportunities for people to play. I remember times when only 1 person play and it sucked.
This looks like it was so much fun. I love Millionaire and how it’s a simple format that just works incredibly well. Though when this was complete, Millionaire’s ratings were starting to decline. Goes to show why over saturation is not a good thing.
I think the syndicated version is better than the traditional hot seat version, as the audience can see the questions displayed on the screen.
4:35 Rest in Peace to a legend of Morning TV, Radio, and Game Shows- the one and only Regis Philbin.
I don't remember seeing that intro video when I visited "Millionaire Play It" in Florida as a kid. I think it was around 2003 or 2004 when I first went, and that was when the syndicated version was going on with Meredith Vieira. The primetime version with Regis ended in 2002, so the trip to see a taping of "Millionaire" after winning a million points just went away. Well, unless the top prize winner was invited to a syndicated episode taping, the Disney Cruise was the main reward for winning a million points.
Regis Philbin was my inspiration of TV game show hosting.
In loving memory of Regis Philbin (1931-2020).
Reegemaster Forever. God Bless.
Oh poor regis philbin
I miss this at Hollywood Studios in Florida. Thanks for posting!
I think this was in California
@@joeyragsdale1998 was also in the Florida park.
A California Adventure Oldie but a great show. Is that your final answer?
I hope you find more shows of this attraction
WIll Defunctland do a video on this Defunctland: The History of Who Wants to be a Millionaire - Play It! at both Disney California Adventure and Disney's Hollywood Studios?
Could you really win a trip to New York from this Attraction?
They should bring this back
Since they have a new version featuring jimmy kimmel
yeah but pandemic
Maybe after the pandemic is completely over.
People would cheat and google the answer on their phone .
For American Idol, though, during the live voting in April and May, they should better use this facility (both in California and Florida) for the Ask the Audience lifeline!
(Ryan Seacrest will use this lifeline if the voting result margins are very close. For the player in the hot seat, though, during the Idol finale, he/she can choose to walk away without risking to vote for the winner, as an incorrect answer for the final question will make the player lose 468K points.)
@@TheGraduate702 There was actually an episode of that show where the wife was coughing out the answers to the contestant
Hopefully someone has the full show with the million point winner one day.
The Clock Format before The Clock Format in the real show
The first contestant had a tough 2K Point Question.
They should have kept this going even after they exhausted the show for a while (though Kimmel has revived it well), it's an Evergreen ride concept.
Haha, they had a Letters answers. But they were nice. A:A.
Also this is more generous than the show was with Timers, it didn't start until the host finished reading the answers. Meredith's timers were brutal as she had to read them in 15 seconds
For Chris Tarrant, he had to read them all within 1-3 seconds.
anyone know why they ended this?
that's what I've wondered for years
I don’t remember having 4 F tiles in scrabble. There are only 2. F is 4 points each.
That moment when you realize they got the order of the music order wrong
This attraction was an interactive version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, except players were awarded with points instead of dollars. I think it deserved to be retired since it made space for an otherwise unpopular area of the park, so guests could visit this attraction instead of Superstar Limo.
I wish they bring this back but they closed this in a long time ago
This is Jimmy Kimmel.
This is so freaking weird.
